It’s afterhours, you’re sipping a cocktail, and a Roman mosaic from the second century is begging closer study – Claris Hotel makes a museum experience available 24 hours a day, thanks to an expansive art collection that ranges from Victorian furniture to Turkish kilims to etchings by modern Catalan painter Josep Guinovart. The ground floor museum showcases pieces from Jordi Clos Archaeological Foundation’s private collection, while Napoleon leaves his mark with several drawings he commissioned. Another way this hotel channels a museum: Peace and quiet pervades the hallways, which guarantees a good night’s sleep.

Excellent Hotel, location, service, everything that you expect from a 5 star hotel. Besides the poll is a plus, specially for the wave of heat that was going on in Barcelona. A family trip that my grandkids will never forget not only for the hotel but the people that work there. Thanks

Quiet room, lovely amenities, and got a fantastic recommendation on where to enjoy a tapas restaurant. We would definitely stay here the next time we are in Barcelona. We could walk easily to shopping on Las Ramblas and the market. The market was a must visit !

I went to this hotel for one night before returning home to Los Angeles from Spain. I had a very rude encounter at the check-in and generally did not like this hotel. I almost never write poor reviews, but unfortunately feel compelled to here. There was a table out with champagne on ice and glasses. I poured myself one before heading to my room. I had been at reception twice (once before my room was ready, then once when it was ready at 3pm), and I was not offered "welcome champagne", which was fine, so I grabbed one. The problem was that as I walked to the elevator, I was stopped by someone from the concierge desk who rudely said, "That is for a welcome drink for guests and is not intended as a minibar where you go back to continually refill." I assume this treatment was because I was looking casual and exhausted, and I perhaps looked like some young person who would take advantage of free drinks. However, I'm a professional who booked this hotel for one night of solo relaxation after a busy wedding trip, and it was a terribly rude welcome. The manager then called to offer me more free champagne (which was unnecessary, declined, and would not make up for this offensive welcoming anyway). The rooms are outdated, likely designed late 80s. The hotel feels cold and impersonal. The location is great, but I recommend Hotel Alma nearby, a bit more expensive, but well worth it. I stopped into Alma for a bite in their courtyard earlier, looking just as exhausted, and they welcomed me in a lovely and respectful manner as always....

A wonderful property and the staff is amazing! A great location in the Eixample. They are most helpful with restaurant reservations and planning activities.

We could not have been more pleased with our stay recently at Claris Hotel. From our first impression with Julia at the front desk to the doormen and all the staff, its clear they dedicate themselves to great service. Matthews was especially helpful our last evening there with some printing we needed to do. Their breakfast selection and breakfast staff always started our days out great. The rooftop tapas bar and staff were always great ways to end the day. We'd return in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful 5 nights at the Hotel Claris in Barcelona and enjoyed every minute of it...The staff went out of their way to tend to our every need. The service they showed far surpassed the service I have experienced at many five-star hotels. I would highly recommend this hotel!
