El Palace

From arrival to departure after three nights, it was perfection. Loved my time there and would go back in a heartbeat. I was fortunate enough to be there for the Christmas rooftop cinema and it was so much fun.

An amazing hotel in a great location close to all the shopping sites and parks The staff were so very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was delicious every day with lots of choices …and a very reasonable price for such an amazing hotel

We have been guests at the Hotel Palace, formerly the Ritz, for many years, and the pre-Christmas high tea was always a special occasion for the family. This year, however, our visit was so disappointing that we will not be returning. The always wonderful real Christmas tree had been replaced by a strange green contraption. The lighting was unflattering, and the whole atmosphere lacked any Christmas spirit. The entire tiered stand of scones and petit fours was not fresh, and the scones were colder inside than out, presumably having been refrigerated since the weekend. The sandwiches were tasteless. Even the good coffee and cava couldn't salvage it. Afterwards, I felt quite ill. A lot of money for very little quality. To my great regret, I can no longer recommend this hotel.

My wife and I celebrated our 35th anniversary at this beautiful hotel in Barcelona, Spain. When we walked up to the front door, the doorman smiled at us and greeted us in Spanish, but we responded in English, and he greeted us again in English. His smile said, Welcome! The hotel is first class; yes, the furnishings are lovely, but it was the people who made the difference for us. My wife asked me if we could return for our next visit before we checked out. I said yes immediately. The hotel's rooftop was decorated with Christmas trim and smelled terrific. Our hotel room was like a small palace, and we loved it. The breakfast buffet features a wide selection of fruits, meats, eggs, and lots of tasty pastries. The staff was very attentive and offered us our choice of coffee—American or European. All of the dinners we enjoyed were excellent. We will be back!

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff were amazing. The hotel was our favorite part of our trip to Barcelona. The room was gorgeous, the food was wonderful, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. We love Hotel El Palace and would come back to Barcelona just to stay there!
