Central to the hustle and bustle of downtown, El Palace Barcelona is located steps away from the exclusive Paseo de Gracia, the mythic Las Ramblas and the historical Gothic District, yet inside the hotel is a quiet haven of blissful elegance. Boasting one of the largest rooftop terrace in the city with a 360º view, indulging in a princely drink as the sun dips behind far-off cupolas, is a must. Feel the pulls of the history from 1919 when you are back in you spacious and neo-classical room, the huge marble bathroom in muted tones surprises as well as the original fire place, all combined with the state-of-the arts facilities.

Beautiful Hotel with excellent service. Love the breakfast and always enjoy the rooftop bar. The gorgeous lounge will make you feel like a princess! Convenient location to sites, shopping and restaurants. Fast and reliable taxi service also.

Built in 1919 and used to be the Ritz. Showing its age inside. A grand old style hotel like many in Europe The lobby is ornate with a small check in desk The suite on the 1st floor of coorse has no view, and has wear and tear. Tv smallish but 2 seperate rooms for toilet and shower. The hybrid traditional and modern key they use is a royal pain Breakfast is nice, designed as a greenhouse Gym is tiny, but ok for my use There’s a rooftop garden for lunch and drinks, also nice Good service throughout Location is here within walking distance of many UNESCO sites and Plaza Catalunya plus Paseig de Barcelona Stayed here for business, and if personal traveling, not my top choice

Travelled with my wife (in our 40's), 2 teens, and mother in law. This hotel is an A+ and one of the nicest I have ever stayed at. Beautiful clean, historic hotel in a great location. The staff is very very friendly and efficient. Rooms very comfortable including great beds and shower. Breakfast served in a beautiful space and was excellent. I could go on and on, but it was fantastic in every way!

This hotel is where you should stay if you are looking for the experience of a lifetime. The photos online capture about 30% of its actual beauty. We stayed in a mini-suite and got the best rate through Auto Club. (I searched for weeks.). The room and bathroom were fit for royalty and even had a walk in closet. To say it was spacious is an understatement. The bed, sheets, pillows, towels and drapery were top notch luxurious. We had room-service breakfast every day and it was hot and delicious and delivered quickly with linens, fresh flowers, etc. We visited the downstairs bar and it is like a swanky, gorgeous speakeasy but one where you can ALWAYS get a good table and amazing cocktails. The beautiful hostess there was delightful. The highlight for us was the Concierge Desk. They helped us with every decision and reassured us about our plans, walking routes, and made restaurant reservations for us. Everything they recommended was the best. You can walk everywhere from the hotel and the metro system is clean, safe, fast and easy if you want to go further out. Concierge helped us with that, also. One request: please only stay here if you are a grateful person who treats grand hotels and staff with respect and appreciation. El Palace employees deserve to only have guests who are as enthusiastic and kind as they are. Believe me, every smile and thank you will be returned to you 100 times over.

From the moment we checked in, we were wowed by both the hotel and the staff. The El Palace (former Ritz built in 1919) is absolutely stunning and has twice as many staff as others and they take very good care of you. We were amazingly treated from the moment we walked in until we left three days later. This hotel has service that is certainly over the top. If you are a Rolling Stones fan-then book the Ronnie Wood suite or the adjacent room Ronnie decorated with his paintings. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the decorated room and had a full tour of the adjacent suite. Pictures of Mick and the band are everywhere. There is even a real old fashioned juke box. BA delayed our luggage and their concierge was fantastic as they kept checking to inform us of the expected delivery, which arrived the following morning. Our room was very large and even had two showers to use in the bathroom, one was like a Roman ceramic shower. The small balcony overlooking the street still resulted in a very quiet interior space and nice breeze when the doors were open. Breakfast and dinners were both excellent. One of the nicest features of staying in this lavish property was after a full day of touring heading to the rooftop bar, sitting in the sun, and enjoying a glass of wine or two before dinner. When we visit Barcelona again, we will look definitely stay here.
