Grand Hotel Central Barcelona

Love this hotel! Upon checking in you are offered a glass of champagne! What a welcome! The rooms are wonderful and quiet. Breakfast buffet was perfect . Hotel is in a perfect location.

Beautiful decor and staff were all great and professional Would love to come back It is there perfect location to many sites and restaurants The bed was comfortable and rooftop views amazing

Hotel is in a great location. Staff is accommodating. Breakfast is good but for the price I would expect an omlete station with made to order omlettes. The scrambled eggs were LUKE warm and wet and who eats COLD pancakes? The breads, pastries, fruits, cheeses, juices were all top notch. Now my favorite complaint in many high end hotels. The BATHROOM. Whoever designed it never used it, The toilet is next to the huge glass sliding door meaning you have to close this heavy monstrosity when using the toilet. The towels and hair dryer are on a shelf under the sink which is six inches off the floor. There is room in the bathroom to have shelves for the towels and hair dryer. The shower is another abomination. For goodness sake have a walk in shower verses a bathtub! The shower head is a rainfall unit with a hand unit. You have to turn the water on in the bath tub to let it warn up. Swing the rainfall shower head out of the way and then divert the water from the bathtub spigot to the shower head. If there was no way to pivot the shower head freezing cold water would rain down on you. It is not fun! Then step over the bath tub lip to the floor. Mercifully the floor was not slippery.

This is a great hotel in a great location. Bario Gotico and the cathedral are across the street, and El Born is behind it. It is also close to the beach, Placa de Catalunya and most other sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the Can Bo bar and restaurant are also very good and not your typical hotel bar/restaurant. The rooftop pool and bar are also really nice although it was a little too cool to use the pool. If I were back in Barcelona I would stay here again and not even look at other hotels.

The hotel was outstanding. It is in a fabulous location. And the service is excellent. People at the front desk are kind and incredibly helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and modern. The pooltop area is fantastic and we loved our server up there. We would totally stay here again if we are back in Barcelona. I will recommend it to anyone who I know who might be going to Barcelona.
