Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona

We truly enjoyed our time at Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona. The room was very comfortable, well-maintained, and exceptionally clean. We were also particularly impressed by the breathtaking views from the Executive Lounge

The hotel is ideal for families, particularly those new to Spain and in need of a services. The staff is incredibly accommodating. The pool and lounge are great and full of both singles and families somehow making it all work together. A shopping mall and playground are across the street for basically anything you might need. And then of course the beach and subway are right around the corner. While this hotel and the modern Barcelona location are definitely not your end goal to enjoy Spain and its wonderful culture, but having these wonderful staff and location for the first few days of being in Spain with my young kids was truly a gift.

I am on the fifth night of a six-night stay. My time here has been excellent. My room is clean, comfortable and very well maintained by an-anonymous-to-me housekeeping team. They do excellent work and kindly honored my request for later-in-the-day housekeeping every day. The hotel offers a relaxing, resort style, retreat experience. The 15th floor Executive Lounge offers stunning views of the sea from every part of the lounge and a superior deck with an outside seating/dining area. There is a wonderful buffet breakfast each day and a generous "happy hour" from 5-7 pm daily with wine, beer and spirits and a comprehensive array of snacks, salads and hot buffet items that served as dinner for me on at least of couple of nights. What a pleasure to enjoy the sunset in such a luxurious space. I was well cared for by every team member in the lounge but especially by Leo, Fran and Jawad. During the trip I had a minor but painful injury to a toe. I had a doctor visit me on the second morning of my stay. My toe was OK and seemingly healing very well until the fifth day when I tried to put a sock on that foot. The toenail snagged on the sock, and I discovered that the nail was almost torn off and my toe was bleeding again. I spoke with Albert (front office supervisor) simply to find out where there might be a pharmacy open on the weekend or perhaps one that delivered. Albert assed my situation and jumped into action creating a team to care for me. He sent Andre (duty manager) and Cheryl (a security officer with first aid training) to my room with first aid supplies. Cheryl cleaned and dressed the wound while Andre translated (Spanish to English). While waiting for them, I made a list of supplies needed from the Pharmacy and spoke with Abril at the front desk. She translated the list into Spanish and telephoned the Pharmacy to have the supplies prepared for me to pick up. Finally, a young man (on the front desk team) whose name I do not know hailed a taxi for me, gave the driver the name and address of the pharmacy and translated my request to have the driver wait for me while I picked up the supplies and then bring me back to the hotel. I am travelling alone and was stunned by the level of care and compassion that Albert and his colleagues showed me. When I spoke of this with the Guest Services Manager, Milagros, I was nearly moved to tears. It was far above and beyond "great service" to an excellent example of the team's compassion and care for a fellow human being. Thank you all!

Enjoyed our 2 night stay. Puzzled at some of the poor reviews of both this hotel and Purobeach. Pleasant, helpful staff in all our contacts, good sized room, all facilities were clean. Absolutely no problems accessing the pool as residents with no charges and staff were terrific. A reminder to be cautious about believing everything you read on TripAdvisor....

We arrived at the hotel and the front desk gave us keys etc for 2 rooms when we had booked 3! Eventually they found the other booking, of a room for a family of 4. Foyer area nice but once we got to our floor (floor 14) there was a horrendous odour, which lasted the full 4 days we were there. It was a combination of fish and urine! We were given a suite, if you can call it that. It has a smaller bathroom than the other two rooms we had booked which slept 2 and this one was supposed to accommodate 4. It was very tired and dated and needs updating. The carpet was covered in stains and the sofa bed where our children slept had stains and old chewing gum marks. The pool was very deep and cold and the set up is ridiculous for a 4 star Hilton hotel. You can’t pick your sun beds. Some have a €450 charge! And some have a minimum spend. However you will probably spend that as a round of drinks for us was €100. Sunbeds were dirty and again generally needs some tlc. The hotel is good for walkers and close to the beach and the shopping centre just over the road was very good for us. This hotel is not worth the money or 4 star rating in our opinion.
