Reviews for Hotel Arts Barcelona

Some great but some quite frankly awful.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Stayed here for 4 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. Great points; The swimmimg pool and sundeck are simply devine with some great staff here. The Pool restaurant whilst a little pricey offers some great food at lunch--we ate here for lunch everyday and loved the vibe etc. We liked the little coffee house just to the right of reception and also the "mixologist cocktail bar" which is across from reception. Breakfast is an absolute delight with a great buffet, wonderful staff and you can dine inside or out--we simply loved this. Quite frankly awful; The room we had was very very basic, dirty, cables hanging off the walls and the dirtiest windows we have ever seen. It also smelled of stale cigarettes. The gym is not the most modern and again could do with a good clean. We found the reception staff in particular to be bordering on rude. Check in took forever and the lady who checked us in was extremly rude to an elderly couple checking in in front of us. Simply not necessary and so wrong. There is no restaurant to have an evening meal unless you love Michelin star foam style food at the weekend. We found this to be so bizarre that a 5 star hotel had nowhere to eat in the evening? Apart from the breakfast team and the pool team we found the staff in general to be lacking in 5 star service etiquette. It just was not seamless and as mentioned earlier it bordered on being rude with a couldnt care less attitude.

Had a tremendous experience at the hotel. The view from our room was tremendous. Great location along the boardwalk and easy access to all the main tourist spots. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is tasty and full of different types of food to eat.I highly recommend staying at this hotel when visiting Barcelona.

Exceptional treatment at a glorious hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed at the Hotel Arts in mid-April, booking only 3 days before we went as a last minute holiday trip, and I would book here again in an instant for whenever I return to Barcelona again. The service was truly exceptional. My experience at hotels post-lockdown is that they have been stretched for staff. Here they have a well-oiled, and utterly hospitable (not least kind) team who blew our minds with numerous touches throughout our stay. From treats in the room for us - and the kids; a lovely birthday cake (and balloons!) for my birthday; excellent guidance on dining -it really felt like a VIP experience. I will say that the hotel is slightly tired which might be why some reviews indicate it's more 4 star vs 5 star - however I'd argue that the rooms are spacious, the breakfast phenomenal, the views - off-the-scale and the service SO good, that it warrants a five star title, and this five star review. Thank you Hotel Arts!

Takes unfortunate shortcuts to save money

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

When staying at a 5-star hotel, one expects everything, but especially the breakfast to be of high quality. Unfortunately their scrabled eggs are made frow powder and not real eggs!! How do I know this? I asked both the waiter and the chef where both confirmed it! Rooms are a bit outdated and smelled a little so I got to change my room. New one wasnt much better but the staff was nice and tried their best.

A Disastrous Stay at Art Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

My friends and I highly recommend against staying at Art Hotel due to its incompetent security and management team. Their security guards are absolutely crazy and are not only overreaching but confrontational to an unacceptable degree. During our stay, one of our friends was physically assaulted so severely by the security staff that he ended up with a broken arm, (see photo for proof) requiring a cast upon his return home. This incident alone highlights the extreme and unacceptable nature of the staff's behaviour. This hotel is a definite no-go if you are looking for a respectful and professional environment.
