Excellent location, Clean Hotel, Friendly Staff!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Excellement location in Eixample. The room was clean and well equipped. There was no outside noise. Primarily due to the location, it was great value for money. Close to all the landmarks ( literally walking distance) and shopping. Organic market and lots of makeries and coffee shops nearby. MANY restaurants and bars including some truly examplary restraunts within walking distance, The Staff was super friendly and always happy to oblige. I ordered room service one day and the food was good! They have a cute roof top pool which I did not use. They also have a basic gym which was smaller than I expected but got the job done. Great location so I went for a run almost everyday! Calm atmosphere inside and outside the hotel. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend. If you take the Aerobus, its. 15 minute walk to the hotel from the closest stop!

They Offered Wine for a Leaking Ceiling

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We booked this hotel for a week-long stay and encountered a significant problem: water was actively leaking from the bathroom ceiling light fixture throughout our stay. We reported it immediately, and while the staff was polite, management offered only a bottle of Cava as compensation -- which doesn't address the core issue since neither of us drinks. We requested either a room upgrade or a night credit to reflect the inconvenience, but were told the manager wouldn't be available until our checkout day. That means during the weekend there is no one present to take care of potential problems with the rooms. We were offered a lateral move to an identical room, which seemed like it solved their problem rather than ours. If you stay here, be prepared that maintenance issues may not be resolved quickly, and compensation for significant room problems may be limited. The location is nice, but we'd recommend clarifying their damage and compensation policy before booking. UPDATE: We were able to talk to the manager over the phone. The 'deal' that was given to us: they won't charge us for the final night if we check out a night early. That's right. Leave early and we won't charge you for services we do not provide. How thoughtful.

Great Room Staff and Location

Excellent location, fabulous room and great staff In the middle of Eixample you just can’t get a better location - so many restaurants at the door step and you can walk to loads of the must sees of Barcelona - Sagrada Familia, Las Rambla etc. Every single staff member we dealt with were nothing but helpful, obliging and quite obviously loved their jobs. We stayed in a deluxe room - amazing sun sets drinking a glass red wine with your feet in the pool - doesn't get any better than that. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Barcelona

Not luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Sadly this hotel did not live up to the hype. The photos show the best bits! The pool was closed for maintenance which I was not informed of prior to arrival. The air conditioning did not work.. and the bathroom was tired! When the pool did open - it’s tiny! And the view from the upgraded room.. I’ll let the photo do the talking xx

A lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Barcelona

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

I have stayed in this hotel several times while teaching at Barcelona Management School. Hotel Granados 83 is right in the heart of the city, a couple of blocks from BSM. The hotel has a slightly quirky boutique feel. The standard rooms are a good size with balconies, and all the usual amenities - TV, fridge, hair dryer, etc. A standard double room with breakfast runs around €200/night. The cooked breakfast is limited (basically eggs and bacon), but the buffet has a wide range of meats, cheeses and fruits, plus amazing coffee. On this trip I stayed in a standard double room as usual while teaching, then upgraded to a duplex luxury room when my wife joined me for a few days' sightseeing. The duplex rooms are approximately €100/night more than the standard rooms, but for that you get quite a lot: a separate downstairs lounge with a couch and TV, plus a half-bathroom, a large bedroom upstairs with a king-sized bed and another couch and TV, a full bathroom (with tub) on the mezzanine floor about the bedroom, and access to a semi-private pool and sun terrace which is shared with two other duplex rooms. If you are not working and plan to spend some time in the hotel, the upgrade is worth the money. Hotel Granados 83 is on a street (Enric Granados) that is well stocked with cafe-bars and restaurants and numerous supermarkets. Everything you need is within a few hundred metres and it is a short walk to the port area or the Sagrada Familia. The hotel is about 30 minutes by taxi from Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) and costs around €30. If you are flying into Barcelona using a budget airline, make sure it is landing at BCN and not at one of the geographically remote airports like Reus or Girona that the dodgy carriers pretend is in Barcelona! Overall, Hotel Granados 83 is a lovely little boutique hotel with a central location. It is definitely on the pricey side, but bear in mind that Barcelona is quite an expensive city to visit as a tourist. Recommended.
