Reviews for Hotel Ohla Barcelona

Excellent Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

It was an absolute pleasure to return to the Ohla - haven’t been here since 2017, and if anything it’s much better. Staff are friendly and approachable. It has to have the best breakfast ever ! The rooftop space is fantastic and the staff go out of their way to prioritise hotel residents re seating. We dined in the hotel main restaurant twice; once for tapas and once for full grill dinner. The service from Selina both nights was exemplary - friendly and efficient- we had great conversation. We had two minor maintenance issues whilst here but both were handled efficiently and professionally - we enjoyed the deluxe junior suite (606) The room was spotlessly clean and the space was excellent. We will return to the Ohla based on service and location and the deluxe junior suite is exactly the space we are looking for.

Hospitality at its best

Our children bought us tickets to see Circus Du Soleil in our favourite European city as part of our 40th wedding anniversary celebrations. This was our 6th visit to Barcelona with all the others being in March when the marathon is on. We know the city pretty well and we have stayed and visited many hotels over the past 10 years. Based on its excellent reviews, rooftop bar and location we chose Ohla Barcelona and we certainly made the right choice! It really did exceed all our expectations. We booked directly with the hotel which gave us the best price. The hotel is located in the Gothic Quarter a couple of minutes from Barcelona Cathedral and 5 minutes from Catalunya Square and Las Ramblas. Due to our flight times we elected to get the Aerobus both ways to and from Catalunya Square at a total cost of 27 euros for both of us. The hotel was immaculate and modern. Our room 104 was fantastic and so quiet due to the excellent soundproofing. Before we arrived we received an email asking for our preference for pillows and bedding and the bed was amazingly comfortable. We had complimentary water daily and turndown service. There was a gym, wellness room and sauna just across from our room. Breakfast was excellent and very comprehensive. You were given an egg menu when you arrived for breakfast and they had bacon, sausages, fruit, cold meats, yoghurts, cereal, toast, coffee, tea, various pastries and some really excellent juices. The rooftop bar was amazing and we enjoying the pool and very comfortable sun loungers (everyday was in excess of 30 degrees). The pool closes at 7ish daily and then the rooftop is open to the public. It was never very busy in the evenings and guests were always looked after with seating set aside for them. Food and drinks were excellent there and it has commanding views towards Barcelona Cathedral and Monntjuic. At this point I need to talk about the staff. They were all incredibly professional, friendly, humorous and very caring with a genuine desire to make our stay amazing which they certainly achieved. 2 final things: Despite the internet including the airports webpage we didn’t need to put our liquids in a clear bag but just left them in our hand luggage when leaving Barcelona. If you go to Montjuic go to the Olympic pool for a swim (7 euros) and enjoy the views of the city. Thanks again all at the Ohla and we will be back!

We spent a lot of time viewing Trip Advisor on where to stay for our 40th wedding anniversary celebrations & we could not have chosen better Having been to Barcelona numerous times before this by far was the best hotel we have stayed in & would have no hesitation in returning Perfect location & we loved walking around the Gothic Quarter with its quiet narrow streets The hotel was modern, stylish & pristine Our room 104,a Junior Suite was incredible & the bed was very comfortable Breakfast was excellent & had a good choice The rooftop bar with its views & pool was very enjoyable & was nice to have the pool towels Last but most important the staff-every one of them made our stay so comfortable They were so kind, helpful & caring - thank you so much Until we meet again!

Boutique luxury dream

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We spent four nights at Ohla Barcelona on our first trip to the city. The location was PERFECT. Fifteen minute walk from everywhere. Chic boutique luxury vibes, perfect for a romantic trip for couples. The junior suite was spacious, sparkling clean, and quite quiet for it being streetside. The rooftop is a hotspot especially during sunset. The entire staff were so gracious and helpful and made our entire stay excellent.

Perfect!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My husband and I spent 7 nights at Ohla Barcelona. It was perfect! The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Housekeeping kept our room tidy and stocked with coffee and water. The room itself was beautiful. Loved the shower. My favorite part about the hotel was the rooftop pool! I would highly recommend this hotel!
