Very clen, modern, nice hotel. It is not in the middle of the tourist town but the public transportation is very convenient. 20mins walk to the Train station

We are currently staying at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona for six nights. We originally booked a Junior Suite and then paid extra ourselves to upgrade to a Grand Suite. This was not a complimentary upgrade. Our total stay costs more than €4,000 – over €660 per night – so naturally our expectations for a five-star Grand Hyatt are very high. Let me start with the biggest positive: the Grand Suite is fantastic. Beautiful, spacious, comfortable and very well designed. We really cannot fault the suite itself. It leaves practically nothing to be desired, and we can absolutely recommend it. Thank you – it is a wonderful room. Unfortunately, the Club/Executive Lounge experience is a completely different story and, for us, the biggest disappointment of this hotel. We have travelled extensively for many years and stayed in many five-star hotels, including Hyatt, Hilton and Marriott properties, often with suite accommodation and Executive or Club Lounge access. We therefore have a reasonable idea of what to expect from a lounge at this level. During the day, the lounge here offers essentially coffee, soft drinks and a few very basic snacks. No sparkling wine, no wine and no spirits – not even a basic whisky or vodka. The snack selection is also extremely limited. From approximately 5–7 PM, guests are directed to a tapas offering in the restaurant. We tried it, and unfortunately we found the quality and selection extremely disappointing – particularly considering that we are in Spain. Again, there was no glass of wine or sparkling wine included. For comparison, I would genuinely recommend that the F&B Manager or hotel management visit the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam and experience its lounge. We have stayed there as guests, and for us it is an excellent example of what a proper Hyatt lounge experience can be. Breakfast in the main restaurant is very good. The buffet has a very good selection and the quality of the food is excellent. Unfortunately, the service staff appear considerably overwhelmed. We don’t know whether this is due to staffing levels or organization, but it is noticeable. As for having breakfast in the lounge, there really isn’t a comparable breakfast experience there. Housekeeping, on the other hand, is very, very good, and the housekeeping team deserves recognition. The evening turn-down service, however, is inconsistent. During our first four evenings, it took place only twice. We are also accustomed to five-star hotels leaving a small evening touch – perhaps a chocolate, a small sweet or something similar. There is nothing like that here. Of course, the value of a chocolate is irrelevant; it is simply one of those small details that contributes to the feeling of five-star hospitality. Overall, there is a strange contrast: a truly fantastic Grand Suite and very good food quality, but a Club Lounge and certain service details that simply do not match the level we expected from a Grand Hyatt at more than €660 per night. We hope management takes this as constructive criticism, because with improvements to the lounge concept, breakfast service and consistency of the evening service, the overall experience could be considerably better.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful and friendly staff. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever experienced and I’ve travelled plenty. They are a 10 out of 10 on every point a hotel can offer.

This hotel was simply perfect. Everything. The food, the rooms, the staff, the location - all of it. I don't even know where to begin because I'm so happy.

Was so confused when I read some of the reviews over the past couple months, but decided to go and was pleasantly surprised. There were no problems with the elevators and the air-conditioning was fantastic in my room. They gave me a beautiful room with a huge bathroom and a gorgeous bathtub. Maid service was fantastic. I had early check-in and they got me in my room in about 45 minutes. There were no long lines for check-in. There was only one thing that was not that great and that was the club. It did not compare to the other Hyatt clubs that I’ve been to. Very small very little food to eat and never anybody in there including help. Very hot in ithere as well. The pool was fine and the restaurants were fantastic and I wrote separate reviews for them. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating. Would definitely go back.
