Ms. Jazmín Del Mármol Rojas, a rising star!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Upon check in my wife, daughter and I were welcomed by the friendly staff. We were quite excited about the prospect of celebrating our wedding anniversary in Barcelona. Unfortunately it was in the midst of a heat wave and our room accommodations had a faulty Air conditioner. Here steps in the hero in this journey, Ms. Jazmín Del Mármol Rojas, She exuded a superior leadership style and made me and my family feel comfortable as she roiled up her sleeves and got to work on finding a speedy resolution. It brings us great pleasure to acknowledge honor and integrity in any profession but especially in the service industry. When I met with Jazmin, I had lost any hope that our anniversary stay could be repaired but you single handedly restored our faith in the Grand Hyatt Barcelona. On behalf of my wife and daughter, we thank her for exuding such urgency in making us happy as a family. Our new room was beautiful and my girls enjoyed the anniversary plate she sent us. . A wonderful touch. Bravo to Hyatt Barcelona for placing Ms. Jazmín Del Mármol Rojas in the vital position of leadership. She is outstanding.

Modern welcoming oasis

We had a very enjoyable time at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona. Convenient location, good transport links (close to Pius XII tram and bus, Maria Cristina metro train station), clean well laid out room, great breakfast buffet, nice pool and pool services, good vending machine. For travelling around, we chose a hop-on hop off bus tour service for our first day to get an idea of the layout of the city. The hop on hop off bus tour has a stop less than a minute's walk from the hotel. There are also some nice cafes and restaurants similarly less than 2 minutes walk from the hotel (Lucas and Bugui). The hotel check in process we experienced was less than ideal (hence the rating of 4 instead of 5). We had to wait a considerable amount of time for our room to be ready, over 2 hours past the advertised time. It seems perhaps the hotel has an issue with short staff of housekeeping or managing that process. However, Florencia, on the front desk, dealt with us calmly and professionally, and handled the situation well once we expressed our unhappiness at the situation. Once our room was finally ready, Florencia offered us complimentary breakfast for our stay which we greatly appreciated. It's a very busy hotel with lots of guests and the challenge to manage all of the demands is a tough one, and this is managed well. Staff were friendly, helpful and patient. Special mentions to Florencia as mentioned earlier; Pablo, from the pool service staff, who was very helpful and attentive; and our room cleaner (sorry we didn't catch her name) who was very cheerful and friendly, and delivered high standards of work. We really liked the little touches around the hotel, such as a well stocked vending machine and the complimentary water station (ice cold water infused with different fruits every day) in the lobby which was very welcome after returning from excursions in the sweltering heat outside. We really enjoyed our stay and would choose Grand Hyatt for our next trip to Barcelona.

Excellent stay, good facilities, clean and tidy rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Great rooftop bar for viewing the city. Bit of a trip to main Barcelona attractions, although close to bus, tram and metro stations.

Amazing Hotel

Incredible, professionally run hotel with a terrific staff. There a separate check-in desk for WOH elites. Globalist recognition was excellent with an upgrade to an amazing suite with a view of the city all the way to the sea. The bed was super comfortable, and the bath had plenty of space and stocked with anything you could possibly imagine. They also provided a lovely amenity recognizing our anniversary. The concierge staff went above and beyond with every interaction. The breakfast spread in the lobby restaurant was world class, with one of the best selections I’ve ever seen. The rooftop bar restaurant Mayamanta featured an excellent Peruvian menu providing a vast selection of flavorful ceviche and Pisco sours in addition to many other options. Service was excellent as was the view. The metro was a block away providing fast service to the tourist areas for about $3 a trip. There’s a good department store 2 blocks away if you need any essentials.

While Not Perfect, This Was A Nice Stay At A Gorgeous Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

As a new Hyatt loyalty member, trying to make it to Globalist this year, the Grand Hyatt was one of the first hotels I looked to when booking my trip to Barcelona. As the pool is really important to my friend and me at hotels, the Grand Hyatt's beautiful pool area was the big selling point. I was a little worried that the hotel was outside of the city center, but once I got there, I realized it wouldn't be a problem. Overall, this was a lovely hotel experience. Upon check-in, after a travel day of 24 hours, we were greeted by wonderful doormen and a nice receptionist. It was a really relaxing welcome. The receptionist asked if we wanted breakfast added to our two rooms. We said yes. However, apparently he didn't link our rooms with breakfast, and the next morning, the very rude restaurant host told us we didn't have breakfast included and shooed us off. We went to reception and they corrected the issue. When we went back to the host, she was super friendly and more than happy to help. It was very awkward and weird. Rooms are modern and gorgeous, with great bathrooms and amenities. Housekeeping did a wonderful job while we were there. The rooms were a welcome relief from long days in the Spanish heat. The hotel has a gorgeous pool area and my friend and I spent most of the days out there. The pool servers weren't very friendly and would try to avoid making eye contact, so it was hard to get service. However, the food and drinks were great and the pool was very relaxing. It was an oasis. Disappointing, though, was the day they kicked us out of the pool to host a private event. It didn't seem very nice or fair to paying guests. Near to the pool is a nicely-equipped gym, which I made good use of. The Grand Hyatt is not in the center of Barcelona, but there are a lot of shops and things near to the hotel, and Barcelona city center is a quick 15 minute Uber ride away. The hotel's location wasn't a problem at all. I really enjoyed this hotel. It does fit the title of "Grand" and I'd definitely stay again. Yes, there were some service hiccups and weird things along the way, but I left excited to return to the Grand Hyatt for my next Barcelona trip.
