InterContinental Barcelona

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Stay! We had a fantastic stay at the InterContinental Barcelona. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the rooftop pool was the perfect place to relax after exploring the city. The location was convenient for seeing Barcelona, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We would happily stay here again on our next visit!

We stayed here for 3 days in mid May and booked a 1 bedroom suite which came with lounge access. The room was spacious and comfortable with the sitting area was separated from the bedroom and the bathroom was accessible from both areas. The bathroom had a tub separate from the shower and the toilet area had a bidet as well. The real stand out in my mind was the lounge experience. The breakfast served in the lounge is a sit down affair where you can choose cooked to order dishes along with access to a very extensive buffet. There are snacks and drinks available all day long and in the early evening, hot and cold tapas along with wine, beer and (make your own) cocktails as well as a selection of sweets. The service at the hotel was attentive and responsive. The rooftop restaurant is definitely worth visiting. The food was lovely but the view was unbeatable. It was a very pleasant experience. The hotel also has a Michelin star restaurant, Quirat, although we didn’t try it. The location was convenient to the Montjuic area (magic fountain), Placa de Espanya, and the Anella Olympia. Finally, I want to thank two specific staff members: Guillem, the lounge host, and Marc, the concierge. Marc really helped up very quickly when we had a slight emergency! Highly recommend!

Hotel was great and spacious away from the typical big crowds. Rooms where large and spacious. It was a great start to our vacation. Our room was not ready even though I had emailed we would be arriving early is about the only issue we had especially since we paid extra for connecting rooms. As a Platinum Elite member at every other IHG property we got connecting rooms for free and on top of that our rooms were ready even though we were there early, I dont think I would have been upset if I didnt have to pay an upcharge. Besides that a great stay, thank you to Laura and Pax for trying to get our room to us and calling and helping with a couple of our other IHG Reservations. Rooms and beds are excellent, taxis are plentiful. Close enough to get to all the locations with ease. Definately would consider staying here again. I will not take off a rating point due to the issue with the room not being ready, I know its just a bonus if its ready on time but waiting 3 hours after a long US flight was LONG lol. We did not eat at the hotel so cant comment on that. The roof top bar is nice to take a break grab a drink after a long day.

We had a great 2 night stay here over the UK early May bank holiday. IHG Diamond Elite so used suite upgrade voucher which worked well with our 16 year old with us, giving us our own bedrooms and shared Jack and Jill style bathroom. The suite was well appointed and had a balcony, although the weather wasn’t great so we didn’t use it. Also, the suite was on the 1st floor so no view, just looking into the street below. For the first time there was no in room welcome drink/food but it’s not necessary due to the lounge offerings. We have been to many Intercontinentals and this is the most modern, the design is outstanding. The Club lounge is one of the best in terms of drink offerings, with alcohol including Moët champagne available all day. It also has a large breakfast room and great buffet which is closed off when the service ends. Breakfast staff were very professional, À la carte and coffee options are included. See photos for Club information. The lounge just misses having a view/outdoor area. Thanks to Fernando and Guilleme for their excellent attention. The rooftop area is also lovely, we were able to use the bar but not the pool due to the weather. The location is Ok, we just used Ubers to get around but you do have MNAC, fountain show and Arenas close by. We used the indoor spa circuit which was a lovely experience, this is chargeable though a discount is given to Diamond.

The reason of rated 5 of 5 is because this Hotel has a high level of Customer Service. Everything is perfect from the reception to the rooms, pool, bar and restaurant. This was the second time we stayed at this impressive Hotel. Both times we have an amazing stay. Super enjoyable. Our suite room was super big and very tidy and clean. The breakfast is very organized serving plenty of options, good selection of fruits, honey, cheese and hot food. The service is provide by a great dream team Breakfast - Mark, Mora and Fiorella. I would love this review reach the all team I really appreciate their time doing a 5 star service those days I was there. The pool area is absolutely stunning with a beautiful full view or ever better a panoramic view to the all city. The service again counting with a high skill of a professional staff Guillermo Jordi and Tiago. We’ve stayed by the pool everyday and also for dinner enjoying live music great singers. The only thing it could be better is provide more equipments to the gym I have to use outside gym as the hotel gym is very basic and it has potencial to make it better. For the level of the hotel it should have more machines as the other guests commented that is very basic for the level of the hotel. For last and not least we’ve found painful to get towels at the pool area. The scheme to give tickets doesn’t work. We were by the pool first day not ticket provide by the reception for towels as we were waiting for the room. I don’t know the reason for that. We have to get ticket by the reception and back to the pool after applying all the creams. I advice the hotel with they control towels the best way is deposit € for each room at the reception and give the money back when checkout. Making guests go downstairs to get towel is not very nice again it doesn’t the level of the hotel. Saying that we are planning to come back in September hope this review could make difference.
