We had a great trip, easy early checkin with helpful staff, spacious clean quiet 3rd floor room with a window that opened for fresh air and a kingsized bed, amazing rooftop area with comfy sunbeds, cold lap pool, chill music, amazing view of the city. The hotel is located about 20 mins from the airport near the Montjuic area, which is slightly outside the centre. We walked to Las Ramblas in about 40 minutes but mainly used the Metro to get around which was easy and cheap. The Metro station is a 5-10 min walk from the hotel, along the road to Ave Parallel and then left up towards Place Espanya. There are lots of bars and restaurants locally including across the road, along Rue Parallel, in the city centre. For food we used Sec Cafe, Annarre Pizza, Tartlet Brunch, Colom Restaurant, Gelaati, which were really good. Only things we would improve in the hotel are food and drink in rooftop bar expensive and not great quality, layout of toilet and shower slightly cramped, slightly musty smell in bedrooms and corridors.

We have stayed in this modern hotel 2 times and both the times we always thought to come back to this hotel. Service is impeccable. It is 10-minutes walk to metro station but Cabify and taxis made trips everywhere very convenient. The lounge is extra cost but has decent food and drink options. The biggest downside is breakfast in-spite of big selection. Nothing tastes good and if the management is reading this review they should really add other breakfast chefs. The rooftop pool is very nice and as expected the food in the rooftop bar is convenient for a quick lunch but food wise you could better elsewhere.

Amazing place to stay in that beautiful and vibrant City! Hotel is great itself with top notch service. From the moment you arrive everyone is smiling and willing to assist in every matter. Cleanliness perfect, great idea for the pool and the roof top! Congrats - fanstatic place. Definitely worth coming back again 😀

The hotel is well situated an easy, flat, 30 minute walk from The Ramblas through nice areas. The hotel itself is spacious and nicely designed. We were offered an upgrade due to a small error on arrival and our suite was delightful as was the complimentary breakfast. The beds are very comfortable, the room amenities (coffees, teas, toiletries) very good and the aircon worked well. We had lunch and dinner at the rooftop terrace restaurant on day 1 and both were very good (it was great to see a vegetarian option on the menu - a rarity in Spain. The miso aubergine was excellent!). We found all the staff to be warm, friendly and professional. At breakfast on the second day, the waiter, Miguel, was very engaging. He kept our coffee cups and orange juice glasses full and had a wonderful smile. He even maintained his charm and professionalism when a nearby customer had a little complaint about something. We will definitely stay in this hotel again.

I have been a loyal IHG Diamond Ambassador and frequent traveler, but my stay at the InterContinental Barcelona (August 2025) left me shocked and deeply disappointed. During my visit, a significant amount of money was stolen from my locked room. The funds were taken from two separate wallets in two different bags. To make matters worse, the room door lock was malfunctioning — something I documented on video and provided to both the hotel and the police. What followed was even more distressing than the theft itself: • Days passed without any communication from hotel management. • The General Manager never contacted me until I escalated the matter through IHG corporate and the CEO’s office. • The hotel’s investigation was entirely internal — I was not given access to the CCTV footage or meaningful transparency. • I was repeatedly told the situation was “my word against theirs” and was made to feel as if I had misplaced the money or fabricated the claim. Eventually, the General Manager offered a €300 “goodwill gesture,” which represented only half of what was stolen. I did not accept this offer, as I found it both inadequate and dismissive. Since that time, the General Manager has stopped communicating with me entirely, leaving the matter unresolved. My confidence in this hotel, and unfortunately in the IHG brand, is at an all-time low. Guests should be aware that even as a top-tier loyalty member, I was left to feel dismissed, disrespected, and unsupported during one of the most distressing travel experiences I’ve ever had.
