Reviews for Le Meridien Barcelona

Great visit and superior staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We had a wonderful stay in every way. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The bellhop welcomed us with bottles of water before we even reached the front desk. Our room was spacious with all of the old school amenities of a bygone era: robes, slippers, shoe mitt, tooth brush, toothpaste, and shower cap. The room was quiet, and we slept well. We were nervous that the area would be loud from the street but it wasn’t. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was modern with a rain shower fixture. We did have trouble getting the right water temperature. The staff always had a spot on great suggestion for dinner, and they would literally walk us out the front door and point the way. They also were very helpful mapping out the best shoe stores and how to get there. We would stay again!

Very good hotel with a good location for signtseeing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The hotel has all of the amenities of a five-star hotel, including a really good restaurant. There also was a wonderful coffee lounge with a very helpful waiter. Unfortunately, the lounge was not open every day. The location was terrific, right around the corner from La Rambla and across La Rambla from the old (Medieval) part of Barcelona. We saw a lot of interesting sites, ranging from the Picasso Museum to the marketplace (La Boqueria) to Roman ruins, all within walking distance from the hotel. The room was comfortable and had a refrigerator but no microwave. The only problem was the noise from the street. Something was going on, maybe deliveries, every morning that woke us up early. More soundproofing would help.

Great Stay in the Heart of Barcelona

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We had a wonderful stay at Le Meridien Barcelona. At check-in we had a small issue with our qualified reservation rate, but the staff quickly helped us resolve everything. The location could not be better – right on La Rambla, perfectly connected to the rest of the city. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and the staff was warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The room was spotless, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Overall, we were very satisfied and will definitely return on our next visit to Barcelona!

Perfect Hotel !

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Good Day ! Mr. Director, thank you very much for your hospitality and for the personalized welcome you gave us, the hotel guests. Thank you for the room that was already waiting for us. A wonderful hotel, a wonderful location, and a wonderful change in the decor in the CentOnze restaurant, which now features a vegan station with fresh vegetable juices—my favorite is the carrot juice. Congratulations on the idea! A small change made a huge, positive difference to the experience. The rooms were perfectly cleaned and the air conditioning was silent and efficient every day. The staff was welcoming, recognizing us at every step; we felt very safe and at home. The service at the hotel reception, restaurant, and front of house was impeccable. We send our best regards to the staff and wish them a 101% occupancy rate year-round, because it's the people who create the atmosphere and success of this place, every day. Thank you, and see you at the end of the year. Robert and Aldona Szparaga

Great location but not a peaceful stay due to noise.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The hotel is located 1/2 block off the main tourist walkway. We liked the proximity until nightfall, when the constant noise from people, firecrackers and yelling could be heard clearly. Our room was located near the underground train so it was off putting to sleep to hear the roar of the engines, but not a deal breaker. The air conditioner is centralized but worked well in our room with no issues. The front desk gets crowded quickly but everyone was professional. The front door valets work hard and should be commended. It appears vagrancy is an issue here, as the hotel restaurant staff had security hovering, were aggressive about seating and were slow to engage us. Breakfast was nice, but no one seem to monitor the buffet enough to keep it tidy. Tables were also not cleared promptly
