Le Meridien Barcelona

This is probably a 4 star hotel by American standards. The rooms are a little on the basic side and the amenities while nice are not exactly luxurious; and there was a musty smell in the elevators and hallways. We also had a leak in the bathroom, which took a couple of tries to fix over 2 days. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and the buffet breakfast was excellent. If the price is right, I’d stay there again as the location is very convenient to walk or catch the metro to many places and it is overall a decent hotel.

Pros location and the most hospitable staff specifically the valet team and concierge. The lunch we had at the hotel was not enjoyable. Serve was nice. Cons rooms! My Room looked nothing like the pics. I am a gold elite member and with the upgrade they stated I was in a remodeled room. Room 127. If that is the case unfortunate. While I appreciate the king size bed, way too big for the room no space. Furnished like a Moxy. Thank goodness I was not in the room a lot, but when my husband and I came in at the end of the day hard to maneuver with our luggage as we had been in Spain for a while. I would definitely look to try another property before I tried this one again.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!! It was absolutely horrible, maybe the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Where do I start....the mildew smell? the actual mold growing on the HVAC vent? the dingy linens? or the fact that the building is over a subway station and the whole thing shakes every time a train runs, even on the top floor. This happens on the hour, until commuter time which starts at 5am. Then they run every 15 minutes for the next several hours. It literally sounds like a motorcycle is reving it's engine in your room. We left there sleep deprived and with all of our stuff smelling like mold. So disappointed in this hotel!

Wonderful hotel! We stayed for 9 nights before taking a cruise out of Barcelona. The location was very central to all the activities and tours we took. The staff was amazing. We booked a room with a large patio. It was pricey, but worth it for a longer stay. Ordered room service a few times and it was very tasty and timely.

The best thing is the location. It’s in La Rambla. The hotel itself is ok however, I’ve been to beautiful hotels and rooms for the same price. I did get an upgraded room with a terrace. I think you are paying for the location not the hotel itself. If you don’t mind staying away from La Rambla next few weeks, do so. The entire street is having construction so it’s not that pleasant site.
