Exuding the vibrant spirit of artist Antonio Gaudi, Le Méridien Barcelona has been recognized as “Monument” by the Barcelona Hotel Association due to its long historical heritage and contribution to the city’s history. When not exploring the city, you can hide away in a guest room or stunning top floor suite, whose sumptuous European luxury has attracted a wealth of luminaries, from Pavarotti to the Rolling Stones. As for dining, seeing and being seen, there is no better hotspot than Cent Onze.

The hotel is located 1/2 block off the main tourist walkway. We liked the proximity until nightfall, when the constant noise from people, firecrackers and yelling could be heard clearly. Our room was located near the underground train so it was off putting to sleep to hear the roar of the engines, but not a deal breaker. The air conditioner is centralized but worked well in our room with no issues. The front desk gets crowded quickly but everyone was professional. The front door valets work hard and should be commended. It appears vagrancy is an issue here, as the hotel restaurant staff had security hovering, were aggressive about seating and were slow to engage us. Breakfast was nice, but no one seem to monitor the buffet enough to keep it tidy. Tables were also not cleared promptly

Le Méridien Barcelona: A Sanctuary with Soul and Grace In the heart of Barcelona — that eternal mosaic of passion, art, and memory — stands a hotel that does more than offer rest. Le Méridien Barcelona is not just a place to sleep; it is a place to feel, to breathe, to be gently reminded of the beauty in thoughtful hospitality. It rises from Las Ramblas not as a monument of concrete and steel, but as a living, breathing home — a poem made stone and light, whose stanzas echo in quiet hallways and sunlit rooms. Here, elegance is not imposed; it is felt in the hush of fine interiors, in the hush of rooms that embrace you with understated refinement. Yet what makes this hotel truly exceptional is not the architecture, nor the view, nor the location — although all are wonderful. No, what elevates this place into the realm of the unforgettable is something rarer: its people, and most especially, the radiant youth at the front desk. They are the quiet stars of this establishment — gracious, intelligent, and deeply kind. There is a gentleness in their manner, a sense of deference not rooted in duty but in respect, in a kind of old-world courtesy that is becoming harder and harder to find. With each check-in, each request, each smile, they create not just efficiency, but a quiet kind of joy. Their kindness does not ask to be noticed — yet it is. And it lingers. These young professionals — so polished, so poised, yet so warm — remind us that hospitality is not found in scripted greetings or robotic precision. It is in the eye contact that lasts a moment longer. The remembered name. The offer of help before you ask. The sense that you are not a transaction, but a guest in the truest sense of the word. Le Méridien Barcelona is proof that buildings do not make a hotel great — people do. And here, every stone seems to beat with the rhythm of those who care. You feel it in the calm of the room, in the glow of morning light against polished wood, in the quiet professionalism of the team who never ask for praise but wholly deserve it. This is more than luxury. It is hospitality with heart. A sanctuary that shelters not just the body, but the spirit. As the old saying goes, “Kindness is the language the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” At Le Méridien Barcelona, that language is spoken fluently — in every smile, in every small act of grace. Highly, wholeheartedly, and reverently recommended.

This not a luxury hotel. Air conditioner is not working! The safe is not working! Options to change the room is limited due to travel season! Spend a bit more and go to W!

We always love our home away from home in beautiful Barcelona. We have stayed at many high end properties here in town but our favorite that we always come back to is Le Meridien- and we come back most of all for the people here. Salvador the general manager who always greets us with warm open hugs and besos, front desk ladies and gentlemen, especially Amaia, who Always tries their best to accommodate early check in (as I usually fly in on the red eye) to the wonderful hostess and manager at Centonze to the housekeeping staff that always brings my kids and I extra waters when we visit in the summer time, the bell menu- Eddy, ali, inaki (my son's favorite), Bruno who helps my husband and I from car rentals to looking for lost items in my room, and Diana from room service who brings me my yummy truffles during the turn down service. My kids and I just love it here and this is truly my family's home away from home. Muchas gracias por todo always ❤️
