Double charged my credit card: complaint was not satisfactory dealt with. This is my written complaint. As per my complaint and phone call a few moments ago. Let me summarize what you have described as “human error”, which now means I have a problem with my credit card, which after your staff error is now is at its maximum limit. 1. The total cost of the room stay is Euro 1692.90 2. At check in I paid the full amount plus Euro 150 for incidentals, even I said I would not make any spending on incidentals. Anyway, I trusted your hotel and allowed the extra of Euro 150, even I explained we travelling extensively and the refund of the Euro 150 can take time. Anyway, I accepted. 3.At day of check out I got another debit on my credit card of Euro 575.30. I have now paid a total of Euro 2418.20. This is over Euro 725 to what is agreed. I do understand human error. But equally your staff and hotel have a responsibility in diligent handling of credit card information. Over billing and excessive billing can have serious consequences, especially when the sums involved are over Euro 725. I do not suggest any matter of ill intent, that would be a police matter. But it does shows a lack of training, lack of staff care in handling the credit card payments, a lack of empathy for incorrect deductions. It’s really disappointing as I just expect better care and now we are facing issue as we travel. Tomorrow we get onto a cruise ship (Celebrity Excel) and they, like you, also will want a deposit from our credit card. We are now facing the next few days and possibly weeks of our holiday chasing the refund of the over billing. Obviously this is stressful and likely to incur extra costs as we will have cost to withdraw funds from other sources, there are costs associated with your error, as well as stress. We hope you can take this matter seriously. I must say I have so far been disappointed at the lack of empathy for the situation caused by your staff human error. It’s likely the root cause of why staff are so causal in over and double debiting our credit card in the first place. We will raise our complaint to our Bonvoy Ambassador. We travel with Marriott group +100 days every year, a mistake like this really impact our enjoyment.

This is probably a 4 star hotel by American standards. The rooms are a little on the basic side and the amenities while nice are not exactly luxurious; and there was a musty smell in the elevators and hallways. We also had a leak in the bathroom, which took a couple of tries to fix over 2 days. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and the buffet breakfast was excellent. If the price is right, I’d stay there again as the location is very convenient to walk or catch the metro to many places and it is overall a decent hotel.

Pros location and the most hospitable staff specifically the valet team and concierge. The lunch we had at the hotel was not enjoyable. Serve was nice. Cons rooms! My Room looked nothing like the pics. I am a gold elite member and with the upgrade they stated I was in a remodeled room. Room 127. If that is the case unfortunate. While I appreciate the king size bed, way too big for the room no space. Furnished like a Moxy. Thank goodness I was not in the room a lot, but when my husband and I came in at the end of the day hard to maneuver with our luggage as we had been in Spain for a while. I would definitely look to try another property before I tried this one again.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!! It was absolutely horrible, maybe the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Where do I start....the mildew smell? the actual mold growing on the HVAC vent? the dingy linens? or the fact that the building is over a subway station and the whole thing shakes every time a train runs, even on the top floor. This happens on the hour, until commuter time which starts at 5am. Then they run every 15 minutes for the next several hours. It literally sounds like a motorcycle is reving it's engine in your room. We left there sleep deprived and with all of our stuff smelling like mold. So disappointed in this hotel!

Wonderful hotel! We stayed for 9 nights before taking a cruise out of Barcelona. The location was very central to all the activities and tours we took. The staff was amazing. We booked a room with a large patio. It was pricey, but worth it for a longer stay. Ordered room service a few times and it was very tasty and timely.

We enjoyed our room at the hotel though for a lot more money it wasn’t really much better than our Sofitel Munich stay which was much less per night. The location of the hotel and the service there was great.
The dinner at the hotel, for which we received a lovely 50 euro amenity was one we wish we had skipped. It was the worst paella we have ever had anywhere including several times in Spain. One starter was very good but the other 2 were not very good.
