About the Hotel

Etched in the European landscape is the beautiful town of Barcelona. Among all the historic and Gothic buildings is a modern structure that reaches towards the heavens, known to savvy travelers as Melia Barcelona Sky. Its location amidst the cultural landmarks of Catalonia is most definitely an enviable one. Guest rooms take on a minimalist approach with streamlined furnishings and splashes of bold color set against a backdrop of neutral tones. The Level, a floor holding a collection of spacious suites high atop the hotel, provides exclusive services to guests such as private check-in and evening cocktails, plus panoramic views of the city below.

Reviews for Melia Barcelona Sky

Lovely hotel without all the madness of the Centre!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Great to be back after seven years - some things have changed but not the service - particular thanks to Yonathon (old friend) and Laressa who both made our stay very enjoyable - we look forward to seeing them both in the future wherever their (upward) career arcs take them. Also worth mentioning a bit about the location - Poblenou is circa 3km from the old Gothic Quarter. It has its own Rambla which is charming (& much less crowded than the one in the centre). It also provides easy access to the beach (Barceloneta) and has a metro station (L4 - the yellow one) which means that you have a short journey to your favourite restaurants in the centre. If you are flying, the transfer by Metro takes about an hour including changes - the trains run every 3-5 minutes and most carriages have aircon. A five-day Hola Barcelona card costs less than £30 and covers all your journeys (we had a lot) including the airport - we bought ours whilst in the UK - you receive a code by e-mail which allows you to pick up the card from a machine in any metro station. In addition to lots of walking whilst in Barcelona, we also enjoyed all of the following: *Day Trip to Montserrat (the bus station is <30 mins walk from the hotel.) *A walking tour covering the Civil War & the Franco years. *The Joan Miró Foundation. *The Banksy Museum. *Casa Vicens Tour (early Gaudí) *A show at the Palau de Música.

Grateful for helpful staff!

We booked a block of rooms for our destination wedding at Melia Barcelona Sky. The staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating to any questions and needs both us and our guests had. The staff checked in on us to make sure our stay was going well, and even helped us coordinate ordering a last minute to-go breakfast for the 10 people in our wedding party. Rooms are affordable, the rooftop bar is a vibe, and 24/7 room service comes in clutch when needed. The only knock against this hotel is the spa. Its small and with all due respect, really isn't relaxing. Other than that, this place is great!

Excellent for a winter weekend break

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

We stayed as a couple one weekend to escape the British weather. We had a Level room on the 18th floor. The room was comfortable with a big bed and excellent views over the city with the sea in the background The Level was well appointed with a good selection of snacks and drinks. We would stay again.

Great views, excellent service, and a very good overall stay

Very good stay at Meliá Barcelona Sky. Great city views, excellent breakfast, and a comfortable room. I had a small electricity issue, but front office and maintenance reacted very fast and offered several solutions, which I really appreciated. I worked for the Meliá brand many years ago and feel loyal to it, but this review is fully objective—the hotel delivered a very good experience.
