About the Hotel

Etched in the European landscape is the beautiful town of Barcelona. Among all the historic and Gothic buildings is a modern structure that reaches towards the heavens, known to savvy travelers as Melia Barcelona Sky. Its location amidst the cultural landmarks of Catalonia is most definitely an enviable one. Guest rooms take on a minimalist approach with streamlined furnishings and splashes of bold color set against a backdrop of neutral tones. The Level, a floor holding a collection of spacious suites high atop the hotel, provides exclusive services to guests such as private check-in and evening cocktails, plus panoramic views of the city below.

Excellent service from front desk staff! So helpful and went out of their way to accommodate an early check in after an overnight flight. Fun vibe in hotel. Only downside is being a bit outside the city and main activity areas of Barcelona.

Mixed feelings about our stay at Melia Sky

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed in Melia Sky (levels) for a weekend in July 2025. The hotel is "ok"; - firstly, the staff were absolutely brilliant, especially Antonio who was extremely attentive and helpful throughout our stay. - rooms were nice and roomy, shower was a bit of a let down... leaked into the bathroom (even after a maintenance visit, clearly a design flaw) and is probably the smallest shower I've ever been (for reference I'm 6ft1 and 87kg). we were up on the 14th floor and at busy periods the lifts were challenging - one morning we waited 15 minutes for a lift to arrive. - the levels lounge is a nice addition, free snacks and drinks throughout the day. it was sometimes hard to get a seat and there was a bit of a sense that some guests are potentially not just using it for pre dinner drinks/snacks but pitching up for extended periods of time - the spa is very dated, jacuzza is lukewarm and feels cheap, sauna isn't great. had a late checkout guest in the lobby of the spa having a nap which was interesting. - the outdoor pool area is very nice but make sure you get out there early in the day to grab a lounger. there are clearly people being selfish and "reserving" them with a towel, then going out for the day Last thing to mention, the location seems like it's -a long way from town, but the district of Poblenou is only a couple of minutes walk away and is lovely. The beach is much quieter and nicer than Barceloneta and you're only 10 minutes from the centre of town on a Yego. Make sure you check out Spice n Brunch while you're in town!

Excellent hotel with excellent facilities

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We had an amazing 1 night stay in this hotel at the end of a cruise. We had a Level room on the 29th floor with incredible city views (including the Sagrada Famila) and found the room had everything we could want. We used the pool area, which was so refreshing after a day of city sightseeing and the drinks and tapas in the Level lounge were a gorgeous addition. Location wise, Barcelona is a big city but the hotel is a 5 minute walk from the metro station and we found the metro an incredibly easy way to see the whole city very quickly. 10/10 from us - would definitely book again if we return to beautiful Barcelona! Good quality price ratio

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We spent a week (2 rooms) and overall it was a good experience. The hotel has great amenities: -lobby is nice -pool area feels like a resort -gym area is decent -breakfast on the rooftop was a treat with many local flavors Room was ok in need of some freshening up, not very spacious (more of the European style) with unfortunately very limited closet (we ended up using mini bar area to place our clothes). Hotel is further out and unless you enjoy long walk will need a taxi to go to the center. Overall price quality ratio is quite good and would recommend this hotel.

Ac being fixed in the middle of the night still ac didn’t work and we had to spoil our sleep

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Ac not working and service happening in front of us at 1 am . The technician came fixed and serviced the air condition in front of us and said to wait for 10 minutes to cool the room, we waited 30 mins but still room is not cooling , why is it so difficult to change the room ?? I’ve been a Meliá member worldwide and never experienced this kind of behavior .
