My wife and I just stayed at the Monument, and it was truly a great experience. The property was beautiful. The service was amazing, too! The entire staff team was attentive to our needs. They even called every day to check to see if we needed more bottled water. Everyone spoke English, which made things easier when my Spanish or Catalan failed me. The location could not have been better. We were right on Passeig de Gràcia (which is like the Rodeo Drive of Barcelona). We had Gucci, LV, Prada, Rolex stores (and every other luxury brand) within a two-block walk. The hotel is also a block away from a UNESCO World Heritage Site by Antoni Gaudí. Great for taking photos. There were so many local restaurants within a couple of blocks of the hotel that we had our pick of places. At the same time, the hotel offers a couple three or four-star Michelin-rated restaurants on-site. We ate breakfast on the rooftop, and that was very nice. The staff again were the best. The one drawback for me as an American was the portion sizes. I ordered the pancakes and a side of bacon. They brought me out two silver-dollar-sized pancakes and two strips of bacon (with barely enough syrup to cover one pancake. So that was a debbie-downer...but the recovery was that I could order another set of everything and it didn't cost me anything (breakfast was included in my stay). The room itself was very nice and comfortable. Plus, the upgrade to the Junior Suite was a very nice touch! We had a lot of space to relax and work. We are already planning a trip back to Barcelona in November and plan to stay there again.

The Monument Hotel is truly a Five Star hotel. Very much enjoyed our stay at this class property. It is perfectly situated in Barcelona to walk and see the city. Shops and side walk cafes are close by. Gaudí works are within walking distance. The two restaurants in the property have amazing food and the breakfast is so good. When we arrived to a bottle of Champaign and snacks waited in our room. The personnel here are so nice. Especially Pam in the concierge area. The UBS concierges are great to help setup wonderful properties for us.
