W Barcelona

This hotel is as stunning as it looks in the photos. As a titanium elite member I was upgraded using SNAs to a cool corner one bedroom suite. The room was spectacular, spacious, amazing views, and had a very comfortable bed. Lounge: The elite members lounge in the corner of the w lounge was a great touch. This included snacks (yogurt/pastries/chips/dips/olives/nuts) all day long as well as the option to order cava, beer, wine, soft drinks, etc at no cost. Breakfast: Breakfast was also included for us and it did not disappoint! The buffet offered more food than you could imagine, plus to option to order additional items from the menu. Pools: Both pools are great, but we sure to arrive before 11am to get a chair. Spa: The spa also offers a sauna/steam room/indoor pool/hot tub circuit at no extra cost and I highly recommend checking it out. Restaurants: Noxe was top notch. Be sure to reserve before you arrive. Service: This is the only area that needs improvement, there are so many staff members around but the service was so hit or miss. When you got service, the staff were great but would then disappear for extended periods or never be seen again. This was true for all restaurants and pool service. The front desk was always complete chaos with very few staff members understanding how things worked and even then being interrupted by questions from those still learning. Some additional training and emphasis on good service would significantly improve guest experience.

Probably one of the most fun hotels in Barcelona. Beautiful views from the room, excellent location. Really an iconic property in Barcelona. Pool becomes a scene on the weekend, with DJ and nice crowd. Many restaurants around, including signature W Hotel restaurant Salt with beach vibes and good food. Good cocktails. Very nice lounge on the top floor; hotel guests skip the lines to enter. Few things: - hotel lobby and rooms will probably go under renovation soon; it’s a funky design but little dated. Looks like Salt restaurant has been updated already - Service is little slow, maybe it’s the city - The only thing we were unhappy about was the way this hotel runs the beach service. The staff prioritizes walk-ins (who pay 50€ per chair I think) over hotel guests who pay 400€ rate let’s say. We have been told that if we leave our beach chairs for more than 15 min they will give it away to walk-ins if they need to, despite the fact that we were going for a drink to THEIR bar or for lunch to THEIR restaurant. Who can have lunch in 15 min?? We left anyway and beach chairs were still ours when we get back, only because they still haven’t sold all beach chairs for the day.

This was my fourth stay at the W Barcelona, and by far the best stay. Being a Titanium Elite member, I was upgraded to a beautiful room, provided daily breakfast and a welcome drink voucher. Staff were friendly throughout the property, including the breakfast area, reception, concierge (special shout out to Carlos), swimming pool, lobby bar and Noxe nightclub. Great off-property dinner reservations were recommended and made by concierge staff, as well as a delightful small bespoke leather store where the 4 young staff make leather handbags, portfolios, wallets etc by hand in the store. The hotel even added small personal touches to the dinner reservations which came as a pleasant surprise during dinner. Would gladly return to the W Barcelona on my next visit to the city.

Everything about this hotel was amazing! Everyone was friendly and welcoming, the room was spacious and clean, and the food and drinks were outstanding at all the restaurants and bars. It was the perfect place to spend our 30th anniversary. We loved that we were close enough to be able to walk into the city or easily grab a cab waiting outside the hotel, but also far enough away from the city that we had a luxurious place to relax when we returned from our excursions. We were very sad to leave and dream of returning again someday!

Please read before you waste your money. The worst service I have ever experienced, I am in shock!I believe there is a genuine discrimination against english tourists. Two nights in a row now I have been completely disrespected by rude and unapologetic staff. We spoke with a female hostess for Noxe on Monday 28th of July who turned one of our group away as she was wearing the wrong kind of sandals. We asked if we could change then come back, she said yes then we were refused entry upon returning. I politely spoke with the security guard on the door to ask for her name and he refused several times until he said Alex and told me to "f*** off". I then asked for his name and he categorically refused to provide both his and her name of the full name of the lady we initially spoke with. We had pre booked tickets and were polite the entire time. This was not the first time the staff behaved in a two faced manner as the night before we were charged for 6 drinks when we got 3, we said there must be a mistake and asked for a refund. They took our drinks and said a refund would be provided, only to then try and get security to kick us out. Be very careful when going here as they seem to provide abysmal service to tourists because they assume there is nothing we can do.
