W Barcelona

There is nowhere that comes close to the luxury of the W Barcelona. It’s amazing. The rooms, suites, amazing pool areas, restaurants, bars , nightclub every single detail has been thought of. You can relax, chill, eat , drink and party all in house with service on another level.

If you are an expecting a five star experience, do not stay here! The amount of time we spent sitting around waiting for service was unreal. We booked our room through Amex for a stay with our two young kids. The W requires two rooms for 4 occupants unless you are in a suite- and we found out at check in that they mistakenly only booked us one room. This policy in it of its self is ridiculous- the hotel can’t accommodate requests for adjoining rooms and the double rooms can easily accommodate 2 kids and 2 adults. Check in took over an hour. We had to change rooms our second night because of the hotels mistake (which in it of it’s self is a pain) and had no access to a room or luggage for most of the day. The pool bar took forever for service and as everyone noted, quite a few rooms don’t have AC. The hotel staff was very hard working (especially the front desk). I felt very badly for them but this property is so poorly run.

Overpriced, underdelivered! Major letdown at W Barcelona Stayed in the Marvelous Suite for €1700/night and was shocked by how poor the experience was. No greeting on arrival, pushy upselling, room not ready coz reception couldn’t find us sitting just in front of them (lobby), luggage delayed, and a Jacuzzi setup with full view of construction workers , without warning. No privacy at all. Final morning? Woken up by drilling at 10 AM. When we asked why we weren’t informed, the manager replied, “Most guests wake up before 10.” Unbelievable. No help with checkout either — we carried our own bags while staff laughed behind the desk. Beautiful view, yes. But service and privacy were nonexistent. Absolutely not worth the price. 入住每晚 €1700 的 Marvelous Suite，本以為會是旅程中的高光時刻，結果卻是最失望的一站。 抵達時完全沒有人接待，Check-in 時強硬推銷荒謬的房型升等，原本的房間還延遲交付，行李又拖了一小時才送到。預訂的按摩浴池不僅水溫不熱，更荒唐的是，有工人對著我們的陽台拍照，毫無遮蔽、也沒事先通知，毫無隱私可言。 退房當天早上，10 點被施工聲吵醒。打去櫃檯投訴，對方居然回「大多數客人十點以前就起床了。」我們要搭長程航班，這樣的回應實在令人無言。退房時也沒人協助搬行李，只見員工在後方閒聊。 除了窗景確實漂亮，其他全都令人失望。以這個價位，應該有基本的服務與隱私，這裡卻樣樣不到位。

I’ve been a Marriott guy for 15 years so felt like this was a great spot for nearly $500 a night. I was wrong. When we arrived our room wasn’t available until 6pm. The air conditioning did not work. I’m not talking, I’m an American and this is European AC, I’m talking dis not work. They sent someone to “fix it”. It never fixed. Then, on our second night we came back to water on the floor, water leaking from the ceiling. We called front desk and they quickly sent someone up. Well, it was a toilet leaking from above per the maintenance tech. His fix, shove some towels in the overhead ceiling. Yes, it stunk. I called the front desk and requested a new room. Nope, fully booked. They did “comp” breakfast, which was probably the highlight of the stay.

Very expensive for nothing spectacular. Difficulty checking in. Air Conditioning didn't worked. Reported it, nothing resolved. Came into room after dinner to find water on floor. Toilet leaking from room above. Reported it, they stuffed towels in ceiling and said it was fixed. Room smelled from the nasty water. Don't waste your money!
