Overhyped and underwhelming

Honestly one of the worst lounge experiences I’ve had in Barcelona. The staff were dismissive and borderline rude from the moment we arrived — it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than paying guests. The vibe is incredibly pretentious, more about appearances than actually creating a good experience. Drinks were overpriced (which I expected), but at least make them well — ours were watery, unbalanced, and took forever to arrive. You’re basically paying for the view and a name, not the service or atmosphere. There are plenty of places in the city with better cocktails, friendlier staff, and a much better energy. Skip it.

Great location, excellent views. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Do not hesitate to stay. It really is the the best location in Barcelona. The staff goes out of their way to exceed expectations.

Beautiful La Barceloneta view

Beautiful rooms with amazing and relaxing views. Professional staff. Great breakfast. Overcrowded most of the time though so keep that in mind if you are booking for a full relaxing experience.

More style over substance but some redeeming features.

I had a lovely spacious room with a large desk area which was clean and comfortable but why or why do the rooms at every W Hotel have to be so dark and dingy? Even in the bathroom area (separate WC but the wash basis is not behind its own door) there is barely sufficient light at the highest setting to see oneself. I am obviously not their target market though as its more pitched to people in their late 20s and early 30s I expect. A number of the room's USB outlets appeared to be out of order. Take a closer look and everything is actually rather worn out. On the plus side the hotel restaurant was great and served a good breakfast and staff were helpful. The hotel also has a smart and reliable ground floor bar and fun rooftop bar so that will appeal to some. It is not intimate and the number of people that are always milling around the hotel ground floor and reception make it feel like an airport. The overall design can be described as a 20 year old's idea of what a cool and high-end hotel should look like.
