Premium Bath experience!

Loved staying here. The Royal Crescent is a major sightseeing spot, so to be in the midst of all that history and beautiful architecture was truly priceless. There was a bit of a mix up with checking in as there was someone else with my last name and first initial so I was given a much larger room after they said no upgrades would be possible, but it was all rectified in a timely fashion. Everyone from the concierge gentleman and the reception ladies were kind and welcoming. I particularly loved the sitting rooms (both of them-- impeccable decorated) on the ground floor in the lobby with drinks / snacks laid out. My room was a good size and very comfortable. Again, very tastefully decorated and definitely clean. I'm sure housekeeping in a place like this is held to a very high standard. This was definitely a pricey hotel, but I felt that it was excellent value for what I was getting. I loved walking to No 1 Royal Crescent Museum and basically walking to everything else. Used the sauna / swimming pool 2x while there (2 night stay). Wasn't sure why the door wasn't open (the swimming pool has this door that can be latched open to the outside), but enjoyed my time here regardless. Breakfast at Montagu Mews was great value. As a part of the welcome package, there were cookies laid out from Montagu Mews which were delish. Also did dinner at Montagu Mews which was truly spectacular (see my other review of the restaurant). All in all, highly recommend. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

A Truly Perfect Wedding

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

A huge thanks to the Wedding Team and the staff who helped us organize our wedding at the hotel. Their professionalism allowed us to fully enjoy every moment of our big day without a single worry. Everything was well-arranged, communication was efficient, and they were incredibly helpful. We are so grateful to them! All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, the spa was amazing, and our room was gorgeous. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back for our anniversary!

Historical hotel in Bath

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Beautiful, historic hotel. Inconsistent service but overall a nice option in Bath. A bit far to walk to the train station and local restaurants. Lovely gardens with outdoor seating at the restaurant. Breakfast buffet and menu items varied and plentiful but need more servers/hostesses. Not uncommon to wait 5-10 mins for someone to show up to greet/seat the guests.

Sometimes far from perfect!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Previously had a wonderful stay and congratulated the hotel so rebooked for special occasion. Unfortunately completely different. Service at best patchy. Dinner poor. One dish had to be sent back. Most importantly although we booked via Reception we were not told that the room allocated could only be accessed via steep stairs - no lift. One of our party had mobility issues so very difficult. Wrote to hotel and they said 'It was a busy Bank Holiday '

Fabulous two day wedding stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed here for two nights with the second day being our wedding day. The staff from as soon as you enter the hotel are attentive, welcoming and cannot do enough for you. We asked to change rooms if possible as we were in a room that had a very small bathroom. We hoped that we could use the bathroom as a changing room for our wedding day. We fully expected in August to not have this option, however due to a late cancellation we were moved to an upgraded room at no cost. Dinner on day one was spectacular and a lovely lamb dish and desserts. Come our wedding day and everyone was aware and made all our visitors welcome and helped where needed. While we were getting ready, complimentary cookies and champagne arrived, such a lovely touch. The hotel arranged for a chauffeured car to take us to our wedding venue. When we got back to the hotel at around 10pm, we had cocktails and the maitre d (Nick I think his name was) welcomed us and when we knew we had just been married arranged for some petit four sweets. The name outside of our room had already been changed to Mr & Mrs. Breakfast on both days was lovely, the toast was to die for and there were options for pastries, fruit, juices and continental. We had cooked breakfast. The hotel itself is set in a magnificent area of Bath, with beautiful gardens in between the two ornate buildings that make up the hotel. We used the spa area and pool which were spotless. Complimentary drinks were available in Alfie’s room, and towels and robes as standard. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to married life.
