Such potential but let down by some of the staff and the spa. Great location, nice room, fantastic grounds, good restaurant. Restaurant staff were great. Therapists in the spa were great. Spa reception with the exception of Sarah let the hotel down and some staff on main reception could be more helpful too. Pool area was 'okay', changing rooms were shabby. I know they are refurbishing that area but current guests still have to use it! It's a shame as they are easy fixes which i hope are addressed.

This was our fourth visit to the Royal Crescent Hotel and it was, as ever, excellent in every way. Simply the best hotel in Bath and we have stayed in quite a few.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the hotel and spa. Our room was the Classic and was not small - there was plenty of room and it was very comfortable. Decor in the room and everywhere is elegant and beautiful. The restaurant was excellent as was the spa. The spa pool area had a very cool vibe.

We stayed for two nights bed and breakfast in one of the heritage rooms. The room was very large with separate sofa, table and chairs, dressing table, and large tv. The room was very clean and we loved the chance to choose our own pillows me preferring a firmer pillow and my partner preferring softer ones, this made the experience more personal. The toiletries were high quality and smelled great! Our room overlooked the gardens which were welcoming and tranquil. We had a really peaceful experience and I enjoyed using the spar facilities which were included as part of the stay. I had a 90 minute massage which was really relaxing. The staff were very welcoming and could not do enough to help us. The hotel is located between the botanical gardens and the city centre and was close walking distance to all the action whilst being in a quiet and green location.

Arrived for afternoon tea which I treated a friend too. She finds standing around a bit tricky and we were kept waiting at the entrance for rather a long time before anyone greeted us and a further long time before being seated. Once seated the wait for being served was also fairly long, to the extent we were offered an apology for the wait. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed. The food and drink was lovely and the environment is also very nice. Reasonable price for a 5 star hotel too, just a shame the service let it down a bit. As a local resident I come for coffee in the bar regularly and the service there is always top notch so this was a little disappointing
