Everything natural, modern, rustic and luxurious can be found at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita, a secluded and spacious luxury resort where you can spend all day coasting across the water in your own sailing boat, tour a former sugar plantation, make friends with a giant tortoise, and afterwards fall asleep under the stars.

Overall We stayed at the property in January 2025 and experienced a deeply restorative time in many ways - yet also encountered shortcomings that were difficult to overlook. Having booked with the inherent trust that comes with the Four Seasons name, we expected the fundamentals to be impeccably fine-tuned. While certain aspects of our stay exceeded expectations, others unfortunately fell well below what one associates with this brand. Housekeeping & Maintenance After a long six-hour flight from India, it was disheartening to encounter issues almost immediately upon arrival. Following our first bath, the drains in the bath area overflowed, clearly choked. In the second washroom, there were ants present, along with a dead lizard. I documented these concerns and shared them with Neeraj, the duty manager - who truly deserves special mention. He is a gem: humble, sincere, deeply committed, and genuinely invested in resolving matters. Neeraj promptly involved the housekeeping manager and multiple staff members in an effort to address the situation. Despite these attempts, we discovered a dead cockroach the following day. While we fully appreciate that the resort is nestled amidst nature, this is not the experience one anticipates when choosing Four Seasons. Guests do not arrive here to share their private villas with ants, lizards, or cockroaches = especially when there are numerous other accommodations in Mauritius if such compromises are to be expected. Housekeeping standards unquestionably need to be elevated. A clearer understanding is required of why travelers choose Four Seasons in the first place: for assurance, peace of mind, and flawless basics - especially after long international journeys. Front Desk The front desk team had its shining moments. Nabi welcomed us with exceptional warmth and grace, Soovidha, too, was delightful - I still have the umbrella :). These personal touches were appreciated and memorable. Food & Beverage Outstanding - truly exceptional. Words scarcely do justice to the culinary and service excellence we experienced. The chefs and restaurant team brought magic to every meal. A heartfelt thank you to Awadh, Sonam, and Saravana, the three remarkable chefs, and to Govind, Abhay, Victoria, and Akiah for their impeccable hospitality. Even now, we find ourselves fondly reminiscing about the warmth, attentiveness, and sincerity each of you extended to us. Spa & Wellness Regrettably, the spa was a significant let-down. Writing this is not easy, but honesty is essential. The wellness center felt sub-standard and neglected- an unexpected contrast to the Four Seasons name. Several concerns stood out: expired products displayed for retail purchase, ants running around them, and an entrance that resembled a duty-free attar or perfume shop rather than a serene wellness sanctuary. The spa menu lacked both a sense of place and the richness of Mauritian wellness traditions. Most concerning was the lack of transparency: I had specifically asked to see the products prior to a treatment, only to later discover that the ingredients listed in the menu were being substituted because the original products were unavailable. This was communicated to me only after I questioned the authenticity of the treatment in relation to its stated ingredients. That said, Joelle deserves sincere appreciation. She was warm, thoughtful - going so far as to seek me out at breakfast to speak personally. Her generosity, empathy, and assurance that these issues would be addressed for future guests were deeply valued. Having experienced world-class wellness centers across many destinations, including properties outside the luxury tier of Four Seasons - this spa felt overlooked and under-curated, which was particularly disappointing. Closing Note To everyone who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, thank you. Your readiness to assist, your smiles, and your willingness to resolve issues did not go unnoticed. However, I sincerely hope the bar is raised- particularly in housekeeping, maintenance, and spa operations. Guests travel long distances to arrive here seeking rest, rejuvenation, and ease - not to begin their stay by discovering that the basics are flawed. Proactive checks, thorough room inspections, and renewed attention to wellness standards would go a long way in ensuring future guests experience the Four Seasons as it is meant to be experienced.

Anahita in Persian means, "unspoiled / pristine / pure", and that's exactly what this stay was! Everything about this hotel exuded beautiful design planning and thoughtful little touches. From the no-fuss welcome process, to the luxurious room decor & thoughtful amenities, right down to the details like individual villas with beachfront [or Forest] views, a mini pool, all-day boat rides to Ile aux cerfs beach nearby. The best part though, was the staff. Totally approachable, ever-helpful, prompt and perceptive. The cook at the Indian restaurant was kind enough to create a Thāli (a combo plate meal) just for me and my folks. He prepared well-chosen, delectable stuff that wasn't even on the Menu, and he did this despite my request being a little outside timings of the restaurant. So, that was something truly special. However, the Breakfast experience was a little underwhelming. I felt, it needed a little more 'Mauritius' in it. Especially considering, Mauritius has a strong Indian history & culture in its cuisine. I'd have loved some Dosas / Appams / Idlis / Upma / Poha / Lemon Rice / Dholl Puri and such, but, disappointingly they weren't available. But i am not complaining. The rest of the stay experience more than made up for it. Thoughtful snacks in the rooms, a well-stocked minibar (which to my teetotaller delight, included a Heineken 0.0 (non-alcoholic)! The pricing i felt was a tad over-the-top, i felt, but since i don't holiday often, and also since the services and offerings were top notch in every aspect, i wouldn't complain.

RADICI delivers an authentic Italian dining experience that stands out as exceptional Italian cuisine in Mauritius. The newly redesigned space creates a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. Chef Sergio and his team, including Joanito, provided knowledgeable and genuinely warm service during our visit. Their insights into the menu and wine pairings enhanced our evening, and their passion for what they do came through in every interaction. The food was outstanding. The pasta was expertly prepared - perfectly al dente with sauces that showcase both technique and quality ingredients. Three items particularly stood out during our meal: The Olive Oil - The quality is exceptional and adds authenticity to the dishes. The Tiramisu - Beautifully executed with light, balanced layers of flavor that honor the traditional recipe while showcasing the kitchen’s precision. The Baba Limoncello - A highlight of our evening. This dessert offers a perfect balance of citrus brightness and indulgent sweetness. The combination of Chef Sergio’s culinary expertise, attentive service from the staff, and the thoughtful restaurant design creates an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. RADICI offers an excellent Italian dining experience on the island.

Although the main hotel is currently closed for refurbishments, the beach bar on Ile aux Cerf (La Plaz Beach Grill) is still open and serving food and drinks for day trippers and I suspect golfers. Not that we saw anyone with plus fours and golf clubs. In fact we only saw two other people on the beach the whole time. We only visited this little piece of paradise for a few hours on a day trip and we were so delighted that we did. The service from Vishal and the crew was exceptional.. super friendly and so attentive (even down to polishing our sun glasses while we soaked up the sun and sunk cocktails). The head barman made the most delicious cocktails (the best pina colada ever with mango - go figure). We ate lunch with our feet in the sand whilst taking in the views of the white sand and turquoise water. I had the fish curry, which was possibly the best fish curry I had ever tasted, and Mr Mc had the octopus salad. We presume that when the main hotel is open, this place is a lot busier. So if you’re on the east side of Mauritius before it reopens in October, I would highly recommend a visit. To get there we grabbed a sea taxi from a local jetty and landed on the beach just before lunch. *tip: I believe there is a shuttle service from Pointe Maurice (google the island and you’ll find info on here, however if you put Pointe Maurice in a sat nav app it’s not overly clear where it is). As you drive along the coast road you’ll see signs for passenger ferry, but I don’t think this is the ferry mentioned on the website (maybe locals chancing a money making scheme). That being said, we got there in once piece and was returned in one piece so can’t complain. (Cost:1000pp return). Probably could have haggled but that’s not our style. And we went on to drink cocktails and each lunch at the four seasons beach bar, so what’s the point in haggling for a few pounds when that was going to be lumpy (but so very worth it). Once you step off the boat, head to the other side of the island and either walk (right) along the shore line or head through the pine trees following the golf course. You’ll find it at the end of the beach.

I actually stayed here in December 2023, and I must say what a wonderful experience. The resort was gorgeous (of course), the rooms were well kept, the food at the individual restaurants (specifically the Italian, the Steakhouse, and the Asian) was phenomenal. The staff, oh the the staff made it the extra mile, specifically our butler Priyanka, as well as the wonderful waiter at breakfast Govind, and the general manager at the time; some of the best service from those two that I have ever experienced at a hotel. I went sailing for the first time in years with my brother; and the instructors that were there were so helpful and taught us all we needed to know in one day ! The next day we were ready to sail on our own ! (They literally taught us the ropes). A wonderful Christmas stay !
