Reviews for Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa

A sad decline in a once amazing hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I have been visiting Omni Bedford Springs Resort for over 10 years, which makes this review particularly disappointing to write. Unfortunately, my most recent experience fell far below the standard I have come to expect. Upon arrival, our room was located a considerable distance away, which was inconvenient, but more concerning was the condition of the room itself. It appeared dusty and poorly maintained. The bathroom shutters were visibly dirty, and there was mold present in the grout of the shower area—something that is unacceptable, especially at a property of this caliber. The spa experience, which has always been a highlight of my visits, was extremely disappointing this time. The cold plunge and spring baths had visible black mold buildup along the grout, and the overall cleanliness raised serious concerns. In addition, basic amenities such as the cooling cucumber towels were not replenished at any point during our visit, and there were no attendants actively monitoring or maintaining the space. For a $350 spa day, this was not only disappointing but also felt like a potential health concern. As someone who works hard as a teacher, I value experiences like this as an opportunity to relax and recharge. Instead, I left feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied. The service throughout the resort, with the exception of our massage therapists, was underwhelming. Staff members often failed to greet guests, and overall interactions felt unprofessional and lacking in proper training. Dining experiences were equally disappointing. At Tilly’s Tavern, we were served a $27 “chef-curated” charcuterie board that did not match its description and was of very poor quality. When we raised this concern, the server laughed and did not return to check on us for the remainder of the meal. In the fine dining restaurant, while the food itself was not the primary issue, the service was again lacking. The presentation and delivery felt rushed and inattentive, and the overall experience did not reflect the price point. Additionally, the property itself appears to be in need of updates. Carpets were visibly worn and in some areas damaged, and the décor has not changed in over a decade. Given the premium pricing, both the physical space and the level of service should reflect a much higher standard. It is disappointing to say that this visit did not meet expectations, especially given my long history with this resort. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously, as there is significant room for improvement. I would be happy to provide photos documenting these issues if needed. I will also be writing directly to Omni Hotels to ensure they are aware of this experience, as this is something I believe warrants their attention. At this time, I am unsure if I will be returning

First time experience

I treated myself to a birthday getaway and it was fabulous. The property is beautiful and the staff are all very professional and friendly. The food was delicious. The spa was beautiful and the facial and body treatment I had were worth every penny. I would love to go back in the future but I would go in the warmer months so I can enjoy the property entirely.

Hidden Gem!

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The 1796 restaurant had the most delicious beef filet, mash potatoes, Caesar salad and cheesecake. The bar opened at 4 o’clock, and they provided live entertainment. We will be back soon.

Cutting corners

It’s a beautiful resort, but we received subpar treatment. From a room facing a wall to no room cleaning to lack of toilet paper these all surprises to me for a luxury resort.

Beautiful historic property with amazing staff

We love this hotel and property. It is very historic and architecturally beautiful. Immaculately restored to reflect its history. It has many amenities and activities, and a variety of wonderful restaurants and bars. Also, a fabulous spa. And the best staff anywhere to be found (from the front desk, to the valet, bartenders, housekeeping and servers). The history tour is fascinating, as is the elegant and distinguished gentleman who gives this tour. We return time and time again because we enjoy it so much. We highly recommend.
