Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Beijing

Wonderful and amazing stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Wonderful stay at the Four Seasons Beijing and we have great memories from this amazing hotel. Excellent pre arrival communication via app and email with the concierges, responsive and informed. Great location Chaoyang - close to all tourist areas by DiDi but out of the touristic fray and very local - beautiful canal walk and restaurants around and behind the hotel. As well, some of the best restaurants in Beijing are in this neighborhood. While the hotel is a little dated in terms of style (early 2000s - renovations are on the boards) the upkeep is immaculate and the artwork throughout is spectacular (look closer at the nail and thread mural in the dining room, the brush paintings everywhere). Rooms have everything you want: lots of space, a great bed, powerful drenching rain shower, fabulous bath with a view, and lovely turndown amenities. Substance over style (although the style is ultimately fine). The lounge is excellent and worth it. The Pool is worth a visit for downtime - decent size for indoor upper level, great views and nice hot tub. As expected with Four Seasons, the staff is amazing, a credit to GM Lily Wang (who is fabulous and wonderful in her own right!). Warm, enthusiastic, friendly, professional, no request was ever too great and where English was a bit difficult they always made the effort. Leo and Chris at the concierge desk, Rebecca with Guest Relations and her intern, the team at all the restaurants, the lovely Cathy’s in the lounge, effective service with such warmth, humor and grace. The restaurants are really really good. The breakfast buffet had extensive Chinese and western choices. The wontons, fresh tofu, dimsum all very good. Lunch is great too - best hainanese chicken rice ever! Dinner at Cai Yi Xuan - fantastic. Wonderful, friendly, professional staff and superior food. Tours through the hotel are a must do. Our guide Lucy was excellent, the car and driver were great (BMW 7). Did the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and the Olympics Site. She adjusted the set tours we took to our needs, helped with getting cell data set up, gave good recommendations for activities. Lucy was knowledgeable and fun, freely shared her own experiences of life in China which gave an intimate personal perspective on the historical narrative of the places we visited. Last but not least Lily, the modest, lovely and amazing GM of this Four Seasons, along with her excellent team, gave us memories to last a lifetime. Many thanks and until next time….

Timeless class with a bit of fun at the bar

The four seasons never disappoints. The hotel is modern and yet timeless/classy. We had a great time at the bar with Ray who was not only a great mixologist but also full of humor.

This was our very first visit to Beijing, and we had an absolutely unforgettable week. The Four Seasons truly lived up to our expectations. The level of service was just exceptional. The concierge team — especially Leo and Fred — went above and beyond, organizing and booking every detail of our trip, even at short notice or when our plans suddenly changed. Thanks to them, we had amazing experiences without getting into tourist traps. Our stay in Beijing was made better by their care and attention. A very special thanks goes to our guide, David. He catered to our every need and request. What impressed us most was his sensitivity: he always knew when to step in with insights and information, and when to give us space to reflect and enjoy the moment. We really valued this! He guided us through truly memorable experiences, and we felt welcomed and taken care of. His knowledge is impressive — whether you prefer a light introduction or a deep dive into history and culture, he adapted perfectly. We highly recommend him. Evenings at the end of the day at the hotel bar with Ray were a wonderful way to wrap up and unwind. Just relaxing with his outstanding cocktails. It’s clear that the man loves his job, and that passion is easy to spot on. It was a real pleasure. The hotel staff across all areas especially at breakfast was outstanding. Definitely book the breakfast, it is an experience to itself. Great choice of foods, excellent service and just a right way to start your day. Must do. It might feel pricey but it pays off. Overall, our stay at the Four Seasons Beijing was a more then a five-star experience. If you’re looking for a great way to experience the city with flawless service and care, this is the place to book. You get not just a nicer accommodation, you get the complete package.

The service was excellent. A huge attention to detail from the service staff. Especially Ms Wang who made sure my room and needs were taken care of and noticed all the small things like a mouse pad when I didn’t have one.
