Gazing over the Forbidden City of Chinaâ€(TM)s capital, the Grand Hotel Beijing is an elegant ode to the city it inhabits. Within this bastion of classical style, you might choose a bedroom overlooking the rooftops of the ancient royal quarters or one exquisitely modeled after Qing Dynasty chambers. Fine dining receives thoughtful attention in a wide range of venues, including Ming Yuan, serving Cantonese dishes, and Rong Yuan, presenting the flavors of Sichuan. For a unique delight, enjoy a sunset drink at the rooftop bar, whose views embrace Beijingâ€(TM)s most hallowed monuments.

Be aware about the risk of theft at this hotel. This is exactly what happened to us: $500 disappeared from the room’s safe. Hotel administration denies any involvement but what else one would expect? So $500 gone just like that. Since their guests are basically helpless in circumstances like these, what happened to our family might not be an isolated incident. Think twice before booking a room at Grand Hotel Beijing.

Very nice experience. Just got some difficulties to communicate with the staff of the hotel; no english medium to communicate. Else, friendly atmosphere and staff ready to help. Should improve the quality of the food.

This is centrally located within walking distances to shopping and is in the business district. Rooms are large and well appointed though the furnishings are a bit worn. But everything works such as wifi, TV etc.; the heating is a bit excessive during winter though. There's a huge lobby and breakfast is in the lobby cafe, but if there's a crowd, it can get a bit stressful in the morning. Check-in and check-out is quite efficient and slick but not super-friendly, but if you're here just for a short business trip and need to be centrally located, this should do fine.

Nice, clean hotel located near the Beijing international convention center. Tasty breakfast with Chinese and European cuisine. Some 500 meters from Beijing Olympic stadium Bird Nest. Close to some pubs.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's a short walk to Forbidden City. Other then that, it was a little disappointing. The rooms are nice enough with a walk-in shower, big tub and nice decor. However, I could never get the room to be really cool. There's no place within the hotel to buy a snack and few of the workers speak English.
