Enjoy the ideal vantage point from this 5-star downtown hotel in Beijing. Situated on Wangfujing, within walking distance of The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, Grand Hyatt Beijing is part of Oriental Plaza – one of China's largest commercial complexes – with direct access to the adjacent shopping mall.

The hotel is within walking distance of Wangfujing Street, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The Club Access room was well worth the money, with excellent breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour offerings. However, it could also include plant‑based meals and drinks. The swimming pool was stunning, although the water could have been a bit warmer. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay - the clean rooms, friendly staff, great food, and perfect location.

We traveled to Beijing as a multigenerational family and the Grand Hyatt exceeded our expectations at every turn. The location is exceptional — close to the Forbidden City and surrounded by great dining and retail options all within easy walking distance. Our two-bedroom suite was spacious beyond what we expected, with contemporary design that felt fresh and elegant, and views that made coming back to the room a pleasure in itself. The club level added another dimension to the stay, and the "Balcony" restaurant breakfast buffet alone is worth the trip — without question the finest we have ever had at a hotel anywhere in the world. The gym and pool are amazing! What made everything feel personal, though, was Cecilia at the concierge desk. She was instrumental in arranging activities and reservations throughout our stay, and her help was especially invaluable for a family where most of us didn't speak the local language. She bridged that gap effortlessly and made sure nothing was left to chance. A remarkable hotel made even better by remarkable people.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hyatt in Beijing. The restaurant with the wood fired Peking duck was amazingly delicious and George who helps with arranging rides to the airport was so helpful and spoke English.

I had a mixed but overall pleasant stay at this hotel. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. upscale and well-maintained, and the amenities really stand out. The swimming pool and sauna are fantastic , both were clean, relaxing, and a highlight of my stay. The location is another major plus. It’s very convenient, just a short drive to the Forbidden City and within walking distance of many shops. One of my favourite parts of the hotel was the coffee shop. It offers high-quality drinks and pastries definitely worth visiting even if you’re not staying at the hotel. That said, there were a few downsides. The breakfast was disappointing . I would rate it about 2 out of 5. The buffet lacked quality, and some of the hot food items were not actually hot. For example, the pork dishes were barely warm. The ramen was also very bland. The room did not offer good value for the price. It was small, especially considering the high rate. The bathroom had no bathtub. Overall, this hotel offers great ambiance, location, and amenities, but falls short when it comes to breakfast quality and room value for the price

This hotel seems aimed at families. It took half an hour to check in because there were only two people at reception and some of the families were staying in apartments and some in the hotel rooms. There didn’t seem to be separate checkin areas for these or for Hyatt members. In the two rooms where I stayed during my work trip the desks had been replaced with small round dining tables. The Oasis pool area was always a great place to relax and unwind. Now it’s given over to families at all times of day. When I went at 10pm, children were filming video and diving into hot tubs without any control. The staff at the reception there seemed bored and didn’t speak English, yet it’s a 5 star hotel. The rooms I stayed in were really nice and modern, and most staff were very helpful, and if you’re looking for a family getaway this is a good choice in central Beijing. For business travellers, perhaps consider elsewhere.
