Grand Hyatt Beijing

The hotel is exceptional and had a great welcome from club lounge manager and assistant club lounge manager (Harry) awaiting taxi to arrive and took me to club lounge and helped with luggage. Check in process was smooth in the lounge and they helped me to my room and showed me everything. The premium apartment was a great size and very good for working. It had a large bedroom and even larger living area and fully equipped with large washer / dryer, kitchen sink, microwave and full fridge / freezer. Housekeeping did a perfect job daily and came within minutes of requesting. The swimming pool is amazing and one of the best anywhere and like a tropical paradise and what I think is a 50m pool with waterfalls (a true resort feel). Gym is good and modern but could do with a few more benches. Club lounge food was excellent, but the hours for breakfast were too short at 10am (you can go main breakfast until 1030). The evening food was again excellent with western and Asian choices - roast lamb was my favourite and restaurant quality (also nice vegetables which makes a change for a lounge) - however again the hours are too short at 1730 to 1930 (most Marriotts are until at least 2130). Lounge closes at 11pm though which is good. The overall selection is massive and with live chefs at breakfast and dinner. Afternoon tea sandwiches were nice and some other excellent small dishes - prawns!The f and b side of the lounge was very spacious for eating and never any issues getting a table. Perhaps I could recommend that like Marriott, you could leave cheeseboard and deserts out until a bit later after hot food finished. The more comfortable side of the lounge for relaxing was well furnished and spacious and nice meeting rooms. Whole club lounge was a great space to work and relax. However, the true asset of the hotel was assistant club lounge manager Harry who made my stay and gave the best experience any hotel could offer as he was so helpful and welcoming throughout and ensuring all was perfect from start to finish and even on his days off. I have never seen such a good and proactive club lounge manager anywhere in the world (I am also ambassador at Marriott and lifetime diamond at Hilton). Harry goes well above and beyond any expectation anyone could imagine and is very professional and also a great personality to chat to and hear experiences (I have stayed at St Regis etc and they don’t compare anywhere near to Harry). Certainly feels like Harry must be or should be on a fast track to GM. Anything from meeting rooms to room issues or general advice, Harry was there to help. Alice at the desk was also helpful and friendly. Location is great and attached to a big mall and tourist attractions. Most of hotel could speak English well and as a whole I found beijing very welcoming to westerners and wanting to chat to (even in shops). Overall, I would highly recommend and is the best Hyatt I have stayed at (and I stayed for about 18 months at supposedly the best one - GH HK) and the club lounge team are amazing and facilities cannot be beaten if you like swimming in paradise and an escape from the real world. However, the number one reason to come back is Harry’s exceptional service and I am sure other hotels will seem a disappointment after such great care and attention to detail. Thanks and best wishes to Harry and the club lounge team for the holidays and for making my stay so enjoyable and being flexible and when I was experiencing a very stressful time at work. Cannot wait to be back in March.

We had a great stay at Grand Hyatt Beijing. Before arrival, Kiko from reservations reached out to confirm our ETA, and the front desk had our early check-in ready with a room offering a stunning view of historic architecture. The location is unbeatable — just steps away from a subway station and a short walk to one of Beijing’s iconic commercial streets, full of restaurants and shopping options. Breakfast was excellent, with both Chinese and Western options, plus a bar for made-to-order coffee and tea, a nice touch. After checkout, I had a billing question, and Kiko kindly helped connect me with the right team, who resolved it quickly. Truly thoughtful service throughout — I’d happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing.

Everything was very smooth and the room was clean and comfortable. The customer experience was very positive and the reception was always open to help.

My stay was a comfortable experience. Hotel location is very convinient location. Close to shopping and Tube station.

Grand Hyatt Beijing is located above Oriental Plaza mall and less than 5mins walk to Wangfujing. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and 2 other rooms during our stay for 7days. All the rooms were clean and cleaning staff were meticulous and frequently asking if we needed more water etc. Hotel staff and club lounge staff were also super friendly and helpful. Truly enjoyed our stay here.
