We just completed our third stay at the wonderful Legendale Hotel Beijing, and once again it exceeded all our expectations! Every time my family and I come to Beijing, we choose this hotel because we always feel welcomed, comfortable, and truly taken care of. A very special thank you goes to the amazing concierge team, especially Caterina and Dino, who were incredibly kind, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. No matter the situation, they were always ready to support us with a smile and made everything so much easier and more enjoyable. Their attention, patience, and dedication really made a difference and turned our trip into an even more special experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, elegant, and perfectly located, but what truly makes it unforgettable is the warmth and care of the staff. We always feel at home here and cannot wait to come back again. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Beijing!

Stayed 6 nights in a Noble Club room. Linda at front desk was the one bright spot — polite, professional, excellent English. The room itself was spacious and nicely decorated. That’s where the positives end. *Arrival & Staff Attitude* No one helped with luggage on arrival. My partner and I pushed everything into the lobby ourselves. The doormen and lift attendant consistently ignored us for 7 days — no greeting, no smile, not even eye contact. Yet when my Chinese friend visited, the same lift attendant suddenly became smiley and polite, guiding her to register. Same pattern with doormen: they open car doors for some guests, completely ignore others. We were clearly in the “ignored” group. It felt discriminatory and unprofessional for a 5-star property. *Noble Club Lounge 5:30-8:30pm* Very disappointing. Just 2 desserts, some cheese, basic spirits and wine. No real food. We went once and never returned. I’ve had far better club lounges at other 5-stars. *Breakfast — unacceptable for a 5-star* Same processed food every single day. 3 types of fruit, DIY salad, egg station, noodle station. You are a fruit producing country and all you can afford are 3 basic fruits for your guests that paid for a 5 Star experience? That’s it. I saw a staff member wipe his entire head with a guest table napkin. Another staff topped up “orange juice” from a bottle — not fresh squeezed. I’ve stayed at 3-star hotels in Indonesia and Thailand with better breakfasts. Staff here weren’t welcoming or smiley. *Language & Communication* You claim “global hospitality” but 95% of staff couldn’t speak basic English. Guests had to use phone translators constantly, wasting everyone’s time. My partner asked front desk about a self-service laundromat. The staff asked for our room number, then said “you can move to lower floor if you want.” She didn’t understand the question at all. Basic English training is urgently needed. *Room Issue Day 1* Room was 26-27°C and stuffy. Front desk said lower floors are colder and offered to move us to lower floor if they cant fix it. But later when we came back to the room it felt cooler. But no one told us anything and we were not informed if they has repaired or cleaned the A/C. Felt like no servicing had been done. No self-service laundromat in hotel. Staff said they’d “never heard of self-service laundry” and pushed in-house service. But every hotel in Beijing has a laundry area for their guests. I regret cancelling my Hyatt booking over this. Came back on the 3rd/4th day and realised the shower gel was not replenished! Call room service at 10pm for them to come into the room to put in a new bottle! 5 star experience again. *Checkout — tipping demand* After ignoring us for 7 days, a doorman finally helped load luggage on checkout, then came to my partner’s window, said “Hello,” clearly expecting a tip. He even told my driver we weren’t giving him money. I do tip for good service, even though it’s not local culture. But to ignore guests for a week, then demand tips for doing your basic job? Unbelievable. For the rate paid, this treatment is inexcusable. Train your staff in basic English and basic hospitality. All guests should feel welcome regardless of looks or nationality. The doormen, lift attendants, and F&B staff need a complete reset on service standards. I will not return. Room 1701. 24th April-30th April.

Close to perfection, I left my phone in a taxi and the hotel management could find the taxi number on the front door security camera, called the driver and two hours later the taxi brought my phone back to the hotel. Bravo

🇬🇧 The Legendale Hotel Beijing is more than just a hotel; it's a statement of intent. If you're looking for an experience that blends the opulence of 18th-century Versailles with the cutting-edge hospitality of modern-day Beijing, this is the place for you. The first thing that strikes you about the Legendale is its impressive French Neoclassical facade. Stepping inside, you're transported to a bygone era of splendor: • The Lobby: A monumental atrium with soaring ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and gold accents that will make you feel like royalty. • The Rooms: Spacious and maintaining a classic aesthetic with fine wood furniture, heavy fabrics, and handcrafted details. Despite their vintage feel, they feature all the necessary modern technology (while retaining that analog charm in their decor). Located on Jinbao Street in the Dongcheng District, its location is strategic: • Just a 15-minute walk from Wangfujing, Beijing's most famous shopping street. • Very close to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square (about 10 minutes by taxi or a pleasant walk). • Surrounded by traditional hutongs, offering a fascinating contrast between palatial luxury and authentic local life. The hotel stands out for its culinary offerings, which are unusually diverse for the area: • Camoes: Considered by many to be the best Portuguese restaurant in Beijing. • Petrus: A high-end French restaurant ideal for romantic dinners. • Breakfast Buffet: A spectacular mix of Western options and Chinese delicacies (their dumplings and fresh noodles are a must-try). Strengths: White Glove Service: The staff is exceptionally attentive and usually speaks fluent English. Pool and Spa: The indoor pool is an architectural gem, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Views: The rooms on the upper floors offer beautiful city views. Things to Consider: Classic Style: If you prefer modern, minimalist design, this hotel might seem "too" ornate. Breakfast Cost: If it's not included in your rate, it can be quite expensive. Final Verdict: The Legendale Hotel Beijing is ideal for travelers seeking nostalgia, classic luxury, and a central location. It's the quintessential "picture hotel"; every corner is a work of art.

We got a 2 bedroom apartment in the serviced apartment area of the hotel. Clean sheets and bathrooms, great location, super comfy beds. Very dated. The building is only built in 2008, but there are cracks in the walls and the carpet was gross. Very nice gym and pool area although the pool was cold.
