Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort

We have been quite a few times and will return again, all of the staff looked after very well and it’s impossible to put all there names down as it would take a week to do so I would like to say that without them our holiday would not have been so good, also a big thank you to all the management for also making our holiday special. We played golf at both of the courses and they are in fantastic condition and challenging but both very different. The dining around is also wonderful with a lot of choices at the different restaurants again thanks to all chefs and staff for looking after us. Finally just a word about the accommodation also excellent and everything you need is supplied in the bathroom as well as the main room staff a gain did a great job, so until next time we all meet again thanks.

This was our fourth stay at this gem of a resort in succession and we thought it couldn’t get any better but we were wrong! It is 18 months since our last stay and since then the new adults only area has opened allowing those travelling without little ones in tow to have an area dedicated to themselves. This area is a haven of peace and tranquility, serviced around the heated pool by Ze Paul who is a real credit to the resort. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, kept impeccably clean and well stocked by housekeeper supervisor Azagen and his wonderful team. Another new addition is the adult only area in Annabella’s which, especially during breakfast, has made a real difference. The team in this area tend to your needs without even being asked. Gin’Ja is now also adult only with the exception of one night a week, as is Le Chateau. There are still plenty of areas for families who all seem happy as well. Now on to the quality of the food! I have a difficult allergy but this is catered for outstandingly here, nothing is too much trouble and all done with a smile. We didn’t think the standard of food could improve but it has, particularly in Gin’ja and Annabella’s. So much choice and presented beautifully. The wine, as always, was extremely palatable and the sommeliers were well informed about the wines and regions they came from. We were offered new choices to try which we enjoyed. We love this resort and for us to return anywhere is rare, but to return four times in succession speaks volumes. We have recently taken up golf so it is ideal for us but it is also the welcome from all the staff who remember you. It is like a homecoming. There are too many people to mention but just a few we would like to are Yoven, Makesh and Angelie at Annabella’s and Le Pamier, Mathias and Vandana at Cavendish and our wonderful host Noor who could not do enough for us. All of this is headed up bythe ever present M. Dominique Grel, the GM who the staff all speak very highly of. No problem is too small. It is Dominique who has driven the changes and turned the hotel from good to outstanding. Along side him in the management team we were delighted to meet Olivia Zacharias, a new addition who we are sure will thrive at Le Telfair, and Jimmy Athion who is the room division manager and interacts with guests charmingly. Health and other circumstances prevailing we will be back again!

We’ve just got back from a 12-day stay at the wonderful Heritage Le Telfair. Everything was utterly superb - from the spa, to the restaurants, the golf, the beach, the pool, our room, etc. Our point of contact (Melvin) was fantastic! And a massive shout out to Timomo Kids Club - which simply made our holiday! Reana, Deborah, Ragini, Rebecca, Sweetie, Samantha, Christelle, Ivy and Savitri - you are all absolute super-stars!

My wife and I have been staying at HLT since 2015 (less the Covid years) and always once, if not twice, per year. We have never seen the need to experiment with other locations because HLT provides everything that we need to a very high standard. There are many choices of suites from Deluxe to Ocean Front depending on your budget. They are all tastefully furnished and comfortable. Very regular linen changes, Aircon, minibar, WiFi and satellite TV. Good size to large bathrooms, some with outside showers as well. Ground floor Suites 901 - 904, 1001 - 1004 have ocean views and a decent size garden with sunbeds and an umbrella. Depending on your package there are ample restaurants to dine at with buffets at Annabella's thrice weekly (otherwise a la carte), a Pan-Asian cuisine at Gin's, fine dining at Le Chateau and C Beach and Le Palmier provide 'beach-type' locations and O'Grill at Le Chateau Golf Club. Infinity Blue (beach) and Zafarani (indian), located at Awali are open to Gourmet Bliss package also. Restaurant choices are governed by packages at full cost or a supplement. Gourmet evenings with Michelin Star chefs are often listed. Cavendish Bar provides snacks and drinks just about all day. There is an excellent Wellness Centre with hairdressing, Spa, manicures, etc. Everything that you require. A well equipped gym and a nursery/kids centre. A resident doctor is on site. There are lots of water activities - Kite boarding, kayaks, pedalos, glass bottom boat and inshore fishing. For the golfers Le Chateau course offers a good challenge and La Reserve (hosts the DP World Tour Mauritius Open) is a design wonder. Not for the holiday golfer but for someone who hits straight as with a x-wind on just about every hole accuracy is paramount. Available FOC once a week if on Gourmet Bliss Package. Also has a very nice restaurant here. The island has a number of other good courses that are not too far by roadThe hotel can arrange taxis and day trips and recommend tourist attractions - like Chamarel, Takamata (Lychee Vineyard), Sacred Lake, La Vanilla (giant tortoise sanctuary). Port Louis is around 75 minutes away and worth a visit to the Caudan Waterfront area. Deep Sea angling available from Black River on the West coast. The staff at HLT are all so friendly and helpful - from check-in (where you will be allocated a 'Resident's Host" that will look after your needs) to the ladies that manicure the grounds and the lady that cooks your eggs at breakfast. There are too many members of staff to name ones that go out of their way to be helpful because they all do. If your choose HLT you would not be disappointed. We never have been.

Myself, my hubby, and my in laws were at the Telfair hotel and it was incredible from the food to the service it was top notch. We could enjoy a very peaceful atmosphere by the pool. We all enjoyed it. The spa was so relaxing it was an awesome experience. Ashley from the Annabella restaurant was super, very friendly. Big thanks to the housekeeping team for doing the turndown everynight and keeping our suites clean. We will definitely come back. The Dobraš family Suites 1405&1406.
