This was a special booking for my parents over the Christmas holiday and the hotel were fantastic at every stage, from the initial enquiry about options through to follow-up after their stay and everything in between. My parents aren't always the easiest to please and yet they have been glowing about every element of the their stay. Areas of particular note included the presence and quality of the hotel staff as well as the phenomenal food offering across their 3-day stay the hotel. They were blown away by the dedicated service of the excellent hotel staff who cared for them diligently across the entire stay, making their Christmas a truly magical one!

Staff was friendly but Bed was uncomfortable and heating didn’t work in room also the room needed a bit of maintenance I stayed here before maybe 5 years ago and it was a lot nicer I won’t be going back to be honest I don’t think it meets a 5 star criteria it was be good for a 4 star I would say

I booked this hotel as part of a special visit to Belfast and was genuinely disappointed. It is marketed as a 5-star property, but in reality I’ve experienced far better standards in newer 3- and 4-star hotels. The lobby was uncomfortably cold on arrival, setting a poor first impression. Check-in was efficient enough, but lacked any warmth or sense of welcome. Both rooms had a noticeable musty smell and felt dated and old-fashioned throughout. The heating and air-conditioning systems are clearly outdated and not fit for purpose. In-room tea and coffee facilities were poor quality, with parts missing from the room accessories. To make matters worse, we found silverfish bugs under the fridge, which was unacceptable. Breakfast was another let-down. The buffet felt makeshift and poorly organised — we were even given a pot of tea without a teabag. I’ve had far better breakfast experiences at budget chains like Premier Inn. Overall, there is a complete lack of attention to detail across all areas of the hotel. This feels like a management issue rather than isolated incidents, as the problems were consistent throughout the stay. Unfortunately, this hotel did not come close to meeting 5-star expectations. It’s a no from me, and I won’t be staying here again.

Sometimes it can be difficult as a woman traveling alone. Most to the time a hotel treats you with respect. Not at the Fitzwilliam, after having to repeatedly tell the lady at check in I was traveling alone; there is only one person staying in the room. One would think the issue would be settled. You would be wrong. I order room service breakfast. They delivered two breakfasts, not one. I explain to the woman who delivered the breakfast that I only ordered one breakfast. She looked at me confused. I repeated, 'I am staying here alone, I ordered one breakfast not two.' She just stared at me and asked me if I wanted her to take the breakfast back. I told her to do what ever was easiest for her. I only needed one breakfast She took the entire order away then returned with one cold breakfast, no 'sorry for the mistake', no 'is there anything else I can do', just a cold stare and a cold breakfast. I was the one who apologized for the confusion. No response. I doubt very much if a man traveling alone had ordered breakfast they would have delivered two and then returned with one cold breakfast.

Disappointed to say the least - this is not 5 star, maybe 4 star but at a push. Small things, 2 nights of dirty glasses being left in the room, empty bottles of water left on the lockers, having to ask 3 times for pint of water at breakfast and go yourself and bring 3 small glasses to the table, 40 minute wait for breakfast, bottles of corona no lemon, foyer is cold , blowers going all the time, no comfortable seating in bar, seating in lounge area offside reception too cold - just missing that 5 star touch on all levels!! Struggling to understand the 5 star rating. Central location fantastic but felt we could have got pretty much the same for a lot less within the same location. Still here as I write this review - maybe it’ll be seen?

Very enjoyable stay in the Fitzwilliam, perfect location for exploring the city. The staff are friendly and courteous. We stayed in one of the corner rooms which was very comfortable with a great view of the city. Would be 100% happy to recommend this hotel to anyone.
