Nice hotel but don't expect real luxury

The location is fine, close to potsdamer platz. The hotel seemed very calm and quiet which was nice. The rooms are dated but clean. My minibar was empty which I didn't mind because I didn't want anything but it was disappointing that it seemed to be specifically emptied. The check in staff were very polite as were the staff in the Vox bar. There was sometimes a "greeter" at the door but he not once said hello or even acknowledged my presence even after I said hello as I went through the door. The robes and slippers were hidden in a drawer and they seemed very worn. Overall the hotel is fine, it's definitely not 5*, more of a mid to upper tier 4*. There are much better hotels about for the money in my opinion

Good value and globalist recognition

Enjoyed the location for ease of access to tourist attractions and walkability. I arrived early off a US red eye flight and was pleasantly surprised to be able to check in early and have a wonderful suite upgrade for Globalist status. There were fresh orchids in the room and under floor heating in the bathroom. I enjoyed the executive lounge, particularly afternoon cake time - the lemon cake was delightful. The breakfast buffet is nice and I appreciated being able to take it at the restaurant or executive lounge. I thought the price point was very good value for a Grand Hyatt.
