With beautifully designed accommodations and a location within the famous Gendarmenmarkt, Hilton Berlin offers the perfect venue to begin your adventure in Germany's capital. A short drive from the city's two major airports, our hotel is within walking distance of Berlin's major attractions, like the French and German Cathedrals and the concert house.

We had a fabulous experience staying in this hotel in Berlin. We stayed for 8 nights and really enjoyed the convenient location right next to the Stadtmitte U-bahn station. Using public transport was easy in Berlin with a seven day ticket and we could get just about anywhere we wanted to go. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and courteous, and our room was a nice corner room with lots of windows that adjoined the neighboring room where our college age kids were staying. The morning breakfast buffet was to die for!! We looked forward to it every morning! We chose not to eat in the executive lounge, but downstairs in the dining room. It was easy to find seating and there was so much selection. The food was delicious and well prepared. We also enjoyed the executive lounge every evening for drinks and hors d’ oeuvres. My only small criticism is that our corner room upgrade , though lovely with its windows, had no dresser and very minimal shelving so it was difficult to know where to store our clothes for 8 days, so our room was a little messier than I would have liked, but we rolled with it and made do. We had a lovely time in Berlin and if we are ever fortunate to come back, we would not hesitate to stay here again!

Let me start by expressing my gratitude to Anja and the entire staff of this hotel. Before our arrival from a long flight with connection from NYC they assured us an early check in and an excellent room upgrade as Diamond members, we also have breakfast included and lounge access with daily happy hours that also included appetizers. We really appreciate the sparkling wine, grapes and chocolates that they left in our room since this was one of the destinations of our anniversary trip. The hotel is in Mitte, very convenient to nearby tourist attractions, restaurants and shops. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our family members, friends and colleagues visiting Berlin.

We booked the Hilton Berlin through Amex Travel, primarily for the excellent location in Mitte. Most major sights are within walking distance or just one or two stops away on the U-Bahn. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything, whether it was directions or a shave kit. Unfortunately, the stay didn’t feel like a luxury experience. Although we booked a “King Guest Room,” the space was much smaller than expected, and the bathroom had visible mold. The shower was poorly designed with a small glass partition that allowed water to spill onto the floor, leaving the bathmat soaked every day. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety and was a good value. We also had dinner at the hotel’s Listo restaurant. The menu was limited, but the steak frites we ordered were well prepared and delicious. The pool was another positive feature, kept clean and at a pleasant cool temperature. Still, with no upgrade offered and the condition of the room below standard, we would choose a different hotel next time.

The location is excellent, close to most key sites in Berlin and well connected to the public transport system. All the staff we came across were efficient and friendly. Our standard room was clean and functional, but dated. Everything worked and was well maintained, however. The bathroom was clean and acceptable, but also needs updating. The corridors, however, were in a shocking state – all scuffed, wallpaper peeling and skirting boards coming off. I cannot remember the last time I saw public areas of a supposedly luxury hotel in such a bad shape. Presumably the ongoing refurbishment will address this, but it is poor to allow facilities to deteriorate like this. The breakfast area felt very temporary due to the main dining room being under refurbishment, but there was enough space and the selection was good. We were surprised to be asked for EUR14 to use the sauna, but at least the small pool is included in the price. The stay was good value, but I wouldn’t be rushing back until the refurb is completed. As we stayed on a weekend we weren’t bothered by the construction noise.

Clean and serviced timely every morning. My only negative was the air conditioning - it was quite warm in the room overnight despite having it on the lowest temperature.
