Hilton Berlin

This was the second visit for me, but the first visit for my wife at the Hilton Berlin. As a Gold member, we were upgraded to a higher category executive room with a view. At check in it was clarified that we would have executive lounge access. Check in was quick and easy. The rest of the room had little by way of surprises. A nice big bed, shower/bath. Plenty of wardrobe space. USB sockets. It is more of a business hotel than a leisure one. As a return visitor, I knew what to expect. The view of the Gendarmenmarkt was impressive. There is a subway station outside the hotel. A HOHO bus stop nearby. We walked to the Brandenburg gates easily and explored the area around the hotel. We used the pool and were given a complimentary access to the sauna. Breakfast was included but this time it is at the restaurant. I recall previously eating it at a higher floor. The breakfast was manic on the first morning, as it was very busy. There were not enough tables for everyone. It was more subdued on other days. There was a good spread for breakfast. Good croissants, I liked the omelette with hash browns. Good coffee and hot chocolate. We ate well at breakfast. The only disappointment was the temporary loune as the main one is being refurbished. It was basically a coffee machine and a fridge for soft drinks. There were evening canapes but in our last visit you could also get afternoon tea. It just felt a little forlorn on the first floor. Overall we really liked the hotel and the the staff for making us feel welcome.

Excellent housekeeping service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stayed there for a business trip, forgot my ring in the room and left the country. Only found out 2 days after and call them, Daniella B from housekeeping team spent a long time communicated with me patiently and kept my ring carefully, even sent it to my country. I was very grateful when I received the package, she carefully packed to protect my wedding ring! I am touched by the care the staff team showed and how responsible the staff are. Definitely will stay there again if I visit Berlin! Highly recommend!

It is okay...its worn...not a 5 star hotel...good tourist location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I stayed three nights. I come to Berlin 3X times a year first time staying at this hotel and booked it under Amex and I am a Hilton Diamond member. Positives -The hotel is good location for tourists -gym is fine and sauna facilities are very good Negatives -Hotel felt it is still in the early 90's -Room was worn with bathroom handle falling off and step in shower had bathtub clog issues -Breakfast was okay with long lines and crowded if you wanted a omelette -Staff was clueless in the restaurant for lunch...took 90 minutes from sitting down for a appetizer, dessert and requesting a check twice..fortunately I had time to kill -Executive lounge was a joke Would only go back if my other hotel choices were too expensive and unavailable...better off at Doubletree and especially the Waldorf Astoria by the Zoo

Everything you'd expect from a Hilton hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Firstly, the good points. The hotel is in a lovely location, within a good walking distance to the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag Building, Checkpoint Charlie etc. Local transport links are close by, so getting around the city is pretty easy. The hotel itself is beautiful inside and the rooms were pretty spacious for a city hotel. Easy check-in and check out and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms had bathrobes and slippers, mini bar, iron etc. It was the good standard you'd expect to see from the Hilton brand. For the slightly bad points. The rooms weren't hoovered between cleans, nor were the tea/coffee facilities replenished so we had to regularly ask for tea bags, milk and sugar. We don't usually opt for breakfast when on holiday as we prefer to sample different cafes/restaurants in the area, which was the right choice on this occasion, as it was 38 euros per person, which we thought was a little steep for breakfast. Overall it was a positive stay and would definitely visit again.

Beautiful Hotel in the heart of Berlin

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We stayed here in September. The rooms were clean and modern and the staff was helpful and friendly. The daily breakfast was excellent. The only downside was the bathtub. It was very deep and my elderly mother had issues getting in and out of the shower. Very serious hazard for older guests. This may be a European design because we had this issue in several hotels.
