Reviews for Hotel Bristol, Berlin

Great location, great staff, needs an upgrade.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Like many hotels, the frontage and lobby are beautiful. The staff are great and very helpful. The location is excellent and it has a wonderful spa. We hired bikes and cycled all over Berlin, everything was in easy reach. The food was fine, what you expect for breakfast. The rooms we were in were tired and in need of an upgrade. Showers over baths and mixer taps are an 80s throw back, plus dangerous! The air con was noisy and ineffective, so we were too hot at night and it was only April. Beds were firm and rooms poorly appointed. One bottle of water for our stay of 3 nights and an empty mini bar. Maybe the more expensive rooms are better, but this is a 5 star hotel. We would try another hotel next time, although we loved Berlin. Fabulous city. Everything works seamlessly, very clean and we felt safe. Huge choice of restaurants. We will be back.

Room and customer service let’s it down

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Not 5 star room I am assuming the hotel star system is different in Germany as we had an executive suite for a couple of nights and room was more like a 3 or 4 star at best. The room was fine and we had a good nights sleep BUT I would expect a five star to not have the following issues around customer service , non interested staff and room condition: Air conditioning - noisy and not sending out cold air - only 1 water bottle for two people for two days , thought housekeeping might have at least provided another one ! Bathroom soap in bottle over the bath ran out before we arrived No coffee / tea machine in room Customer service terrible by young check in / check out - at check out young man not very happy , didn’t ask if we had or a good stay or any pleasantries - Bath little too small Concierge gentleman with top hat didn’t open door to us / didn’t say hello / not friendly / ignored you - he just ignored you Fridge - empty with no mini bar I will try another hotel next time I am afraid

Fantastic experience

First trip to Berlin and this hotel did not disappoint. Super clean with an excellent family room which was effectively a suite. Very attentive and helpful staff where nothing was too much trouble and yet they weren’t pushy. Also a very quiet hotel despite its close proximity to city centre. Very easy to travel anywhere in Berlin from this hotel. Clearly lots of money being spent on refurbishing and I look forward to returning to see the upgraded facilities. Thank you for a memorable stay.

A so called luxury hotel to avoid

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

The hotel advertises itself as being a luxury hotel. The reality is far from that statement. Admittedly, the hotel is large and located on Kurfurstendamm, and the lobby reception area has many luxury items on display. But those looking for luxury do best in other places in Berlin. I had an international meeting on Monday and Tuesday at the hotel and planned an extended weekend with my wife in Berlin from the Friday before. Attached are pictures of the room we got for 209 euros a night. A room that was definitely not up to the normal standard of a 3-star hotel, let alone a so-called luxury hotel. For 30 euros extra per night, I did get a more decent superior room (which, however, was located right next to the train track and was therefore noisy). My surprise was great when on Monday my colleagues got a superior room in the same block at a price 20 euros cheaper than mine. I had booked the room directly with the hotel, my colleagues through booking. After inquiring with the manager, it was claimed that the reason was that I had made my booking a few weeks later and the system had given that price. It did not come to a commercial gesture. The system apparently has the last word, while certainly not all rooms were occupied. Forget also the various restaurants announced on the website: apart from the reception bar, they were closed. Meetings were possible, but the toilets at the meeting room were closed. Breakfast is served in two meeting rooms and for those who are not lucky: simply at tables in the corridor. In short: a hotel not worth its price. You can find better ones in Berlin and even in the surrounding area. To avoid

Fallen former greatness.

With excitment We where looking forward to visit this legendary Hotel and Christmas Market In Berlin. We stayed many times before at this legendary Hotel and had a lot Of great memories to refresh Up on arrivel no smile and no welcome greatings, just a fast speaking recepsonist. Room, Jr suite was Nice and well prepared, but no Coffe machine🫣 The cleaning was terribel bad and i had to tell to the same lady at recepion 3 times before it was cleaned. Woke up Saturday Morning 8 am to knocking and drilling, noisy construction work going on, this destroyed our weekend sleep, it was not announced before booking or upon arrivel. The shut down of the nice Restaurant Reinhard was also a big dissapointment. This was our last stay here because We came back to refresh old memories who sadly are lost. The staff need to improve their customer treatment, no smiles seen except from a nice asian recepionst, sad.
