The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin

Excellent hotel, roomy suites, very polite personnel, excellemt favilities. It has a home feeling, it's more than accommodation.

Just finished a 6 night stay here as paid suite guests. The property has an amazing location on Potsdamer Platz which is by far its best selling point. Despite being the only guests in line, we had to wait more than 10 minutes to be acknowledged at check in. It's a worn and dated physical plant, service is hit and miss, mattresses are akin to sleeping on concrete and the toilet paper is similar to what I imagine might be provided in a prison. Our first suite had no working doorbell, coffee maker or HVAC and should never have been turned to a new guest, espeically at better than 1k per night. We were upgraded to a much more expensive room which included Club access (the highlight of the stay) but was worn with missing items which should have been addresssed a long time ago. The hotel restaurant had a long line for breakfast on a weekday. The only saving grace was the sterling service provided by Mandeep and Domenico at the Club lounge; they could teach a class in hospitality. This property is not worth the price or remotely close to being a 5 star hotel (other than the Club lounge team).

Stayed here during the holidays, and I loved every minute of it. From start to finish this stay was excellent. Room was super spacious and beautiful. I was surrounded by several things to do in the area, including one Christmas Market across the street which was fun. The service at the Ritz was excellent, and I'm looking to visit again during this holiday season!

The hotel was exactly what we wanted: tasteful environment, friendly and efficient reception and service, restrained luxury, excellent food both in the POTS restaurant and in the Executive Lounge. Our room was just right: neither too large or small, good bathroom, fair view, a good wardrobe with handy hangers, lighting without fussy complications. We felt at home. Copper pots in the restaurant were a humorous touch, as is the name of the restaurant - the hotel being on the Potsdamer Platz. There was some waiting to get into the restaurant for breakfast, and service at dinner was slow. There was over-the-top room cleaning with a friendly lady knocking on our door at say 8 a.m. even on our check-out day. We had to put out the Do Not Disturb sign. One question: why are the workers in the lobby not recognisable as such, even if only by a badge? It’s a bit disturbing finding a young man in a sweater moving to your side offering to carry out your luggage while you wait for your partner to finish at the desk. But overall, just the job and we will recommend and return on any future visit to Berlin.

Absolutely wonderful stay for my birthday my self and husband were truly looked after. The staff are wonderful from reception to the restaurants to house keeping all of them. Special thanks to Erno (think that’s how you spell it) restaurant. Also thank you to Nicoli & John Paul (lounge)
