The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin

My husband and I, along with her two children (10, 7) were looking for a central hotel in Berlin with a pool that offers accessible amenities for a wheelchair user (me). Our request: two rooms connected by a door when one room is completely wheelchair accessible (roll in shower)and the other a regular room for our children. We initially made this reservation at the Marriott on April 26, only to discover 4 months later (upon arrival) that the reservation was not followed through. That's how we got to the Ritz-Carlton. Pros: 1. Amazing location! close to the potsdamer Platz subway station, many bus lines, Legoland within walking distance as well as other sites nearby (20 to 30 minute walk to Alexandplatz and Berlin TV Tower) On an accessibility point of view: we didn't find the subway very wheelchair friendly but the buses were all super accessible and right across the street from the hotel. Most sidewalks were very comfortable to roll on and the streets were convenient. 2. Lovely spacious rooms. On the accessible room there were wooden floors (instead of carpets) that make it easier to move around in a wheelchair. Also all the lights switches and air conditioning switches are at easy to reach height. 3. Cleaning services- were spot on, even when we requested bed sheet switch in the middle of the day or clean up in the middle of the day they arrived really quickly 4. The indoor pool was a fun outing for the kids every evening. Open late, offering fresh towels and snacks. It was very convenient and pleasurable 5. The food! Breakfast buffet at Pots was spectacular. Accomodating some of us with bacon and eggs made perfectly to our request along with eggs benedict and other great menu choices, and others trying to eat healthy were given gluten-free breads and assortment of berries. Service was always with a smile, attentive and quick, and the children were also happy by the lovely selection of treats. 6. Amazing staff with great personal and customer relation skills!l always eager to please. I specifically want to mention Lea at the front desk who assisted us upon arrival so tentatively, and Tony who greeted us every morning, helped us with our luggage and was basically a welcoming smile everyday. Cons: 1. The shampoo and soap bottles were really hard to maneuver! They have a pump that was hard to turn and we all struggled with it everyday. 2. On the accessibility point of view- the sink in the accessible bathroom is not placed in a convenient way to access with a wheelchair, as are the faucets which are tiny and too far to reach. We really enjoyed our visit to Berlin thanks to the Ritz-Carlton, and would definitely choose our next vacation in one of their hotels.

I had an Free Night Certificate (FNC) I used for the last night. The hubs and I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve so took advantage of the edit credit. The first two nights would have been $997.39, but we used our $250 CC credit, paid a few bucks in cash, and used points for the rest. Thru Chase we booked a Deluxe Guest room, 1 King. I had reached out prior to ask if we could stay in the same room the entire time. Luckily they were able to upgrade to the category I booked with my FNC. Thru Chase, we also got a $100 on property credit, free breakfast, and a welcome amenity. The welcome gift ended up being a couple bottles of water and some chocolates. The Ritz reached out prior to with a questionnaire regarding our stay so they can customize anything you might need. I also let them know we were in Berlin celebrating an anniversary. They were super sweet and sent us a cake. The room itself was great. Bed comfy and a great size. Had a spacious sitting area, large bathroom. Nice view of the plaza. It really isn't much to look at, but I appreciate any kind of view. Before we got our room, we went down to the spa to freshen up. We actually took the airport express FEX to get here. It was unusually hot during that time, so it was nice to clean up a bit. The free breakfast at POTS is something you should not skip. I highly recommend checking it out at least once. We did hit it up Sunday morning. You can order off their a la carte menu and hit up the buffet. I believe everything is included except alcoholic beverages. We also went to the Curtain Club twice while staying here. Service wise, I felt like this spot was pretty hands off. But I know if I needed something, I could ask for it. Overall, a nice hotel to use the Chase Edit credit.

Beautiful hotel. Mediocre service at best. The bar closed at 5 for a staff meeting with no alternative options in place. Suggested paying $120 per person for club service.

Just finished a wonderful long weekend here at the Ritz-Carlton Berlin. The hotel is very well located on Potsdamer Platz, and really central. The hotel itself is fantastic inside and the rooms are spacious and comfortable throughout. The bed was spectacularly comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. We were fortunate enough to be in the club rooms and had access to the lounge. This is the shining star of the hotel honestly, the ladies and gentlemen looking after us made our stay beyond expectations! I can't thank them enough, especially Domenico who gave us some really good recommendations and looked after us. But all of the staff in the club lounge were fabulous! I would highly recommend staying here and going for the club room. We did also have a drink and some food in the Curtain Club which was delicious and again the service was great.

I had a wonderful time at The Ritz-Carlton Berlin! I visited many Marriott bonvoy hotel lounges but the club lounge of The Ritz-Carlton Berlin is the best. All stuffs at the lounge are kind and friendly and super nice, especially Domenico is incredible. I'd like to visit the lounge soon again.
