Westin Grand Berlin

The hotel is in a great location to see all the main attractions and the reception areas very clean. However, the receptionist looked stern when we arrived. She was abrupt and unhelpful. When I asked her how far it was to the Christmas market, she immediately referred me to the Concierge! The room was average but had a Nespresso machine that leaked and despite calling housekeeping, she didn't seem interested when seeing the water leaking underneath. They were also very frugal with the coffee pods. Don't order room service, it will cost you 30 Euros for a toasted sandwich! There was also the constant slamming of doors and cupboards above us around 6am, to which the Receptionist didn't seem bothered. Not even the offer of a complimentary coffee in the hotel lounge. The best person in the hotel was indeed the lovely Concierge who was constantly run off his feet. Overall though, a very disappointing experience.

Stayed here for long weekend city trip. Very central with underground just outside the door. Not the most trendy hotel but comfortable and ideal base for exploring and then returning to relax. Check-in staff friendly. Always nice to get an upgrade, enjoyed the mini suite. Bed extremely comfortable . Room cleaned everyday, nice chocolates in the evening. Very quiet. Breakfast was good quality, though the coffee is appalling, time to update the machines. For the location and quality of rooms good value for money.

Excellent hotel, with particularly helpful front desk staff. I arrived around noon, and all the remaining rooms of the class I booked were pending 4pm checkouts. Also, because of a late change in the reservation, I had rooms booked in two different classes. But the front desk staff (in training according to her badge), said she would fix everything and make sure I didn't have to change rooms. After some discussion with a supervisor, she gave me a huge suite for the whole five nights. It was lovely. Other times during the stay, small requests were handled very well. The room(s) were beautiful with a great view from the large living room. There was also a comfortable bed and nice bathroom (and a second bathroom I didn't ever enter). The breakfast buffet was also quite good, especially the German sausages and bread. I will definitely stay there next time I have a meeting in Berlin.

I got stolen inside my room. Currently still tracking the stolen item which is inside the hotel ( and I can see the daily commute of the person who stole the item)

This hotel is centrally located and within a short walk to both the U-Bahn and S-Bahn. I thought the lobby and communal areas were beautiful and inviting. Our reception by the staff was well welcomed. Marli went the extra mile to make sure our check-in process ran smoothly. Originally we booked a short stay and much later decided to extend our stay. Marli combined our 2 reservations so we would not have to change rooms. Our room was clean and well designed. I especially loved the extra wardrobe space and the easy to open windows to enhance our comfort. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff were accommodating. We also had dinner at their restaurant, Relish. We tried a few seasonal dishes that were delicious and the perfect serving size. The soft piano playing in the background was a nice touch. Overall, we really liked this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again!
