Stayed at Sofitel across from Cedars Sinai to recover from back surgery. The entire staff was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Willy was the valet on duty and could not been more personable and helpful especially with local information.

It's a very mixed bag. First and foremost, for any business traveler, let me save you. The WiFi across the ENTIRE hotel is perhaps the slowest speeds I have ever witnessed in a hotel. The WiFi on a plane is faster than the Sofitel. I tried to switch to a different room in the hopes that it would be a better solution, and it was the same. I had to walk across the street to go onto the Beverly Center WiFi to download files. So if you are there for business and need a reliable connection, avoid avoid avoid. Now the rooms - they are decent. I had a room with a "Hollywood Hills View" and it was on the 5th floor overlooking a loud fan. I had asked maintenance to help with the noise because the weather stripping on the Juliet balcony door had worn away but nothing was taken care of. Instead, I took a piece of plastic every night over the side of the door to insulate the noise. Location, very convenient. Staff, very nice. Rooms, mediocre and dated. The WiFi, however, avoid.

Great location, expensive, albeit a bit run down for the price we paid. Heating didn't work for the first 2 days, and then finally got fixed on our last night. We had booked a room with a terrace, but despite it being cold, the reason we never sat outside was that there was some sort of compressor or air-conditioner running all day and it was super noisy. Would possibly consider staying again, but in a different room.

I had an excellent stay at the Sofitel in Beverly Hills. The reception and concierge staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even allowing me to do a slightly early check-in, the gym facilities were amazing (and the gym itself was huge), and the pool area was great. I absolutely loved that i was provided with a reusable water bottle for my stay and that they had filtered water on every floor. What an amazing idea and i wish all hotels did this. It is located across from the Beverly Centre for shopping and dining needs and across the road from a supermarket too. No location in LA is ever convenient as it is such a spread out city. The room: i booked a Luxurious hollywood Hills view room, located on level 3. This is where it loses half a star, as the only view I really had was a roof and huge trees that blocked out the supposed view. So give the upgrade to Hollywood Hills view a miss in case you end up unlucky like me. The room itself was spacious, very comfortable, and a very convenient and cost effective mini bar. I would 100% come back here to stay.

Sofitel came highly recommend in the LA travel forum. I booked it mainly due to location. It is very conveniently located, and the building itself looks good from the outside. Valet parking is $79 per night which is standard for hotels in the area, so tag on an additional amount to the hotel charge per night if you do plan to use their parking. Service is super friendly and everyone was nice, and service was so prompt. The restaurant had fresh food and while breakfast was slow, it was tasty and fresh, and quite good. However, the rooms are worn out. We had a room which looked out at the mall and the doors open completely with floor to ceiling glass, but the rooms felt small and old, and the bathroom design is not practical. The shower head cannot be moved, and water comes out due to the way it is designed, making the entire bathroom wet and slippery. The bathroom is also small. Overall, I found the hotel wanting. The room had 2 queen beds which was amazing since the beds were big, but we found the room and bathroom too small and inadequate for a family.
