We had a nice stay overall, but for what we paid, this hotel was wildly overpriced. We spent nearly $3,500 for our stay, yet the level of service felt average at best. Throughout France and Spain we stayed at several hotels that cost a fraction of the price—some less than a quarter of what we paid here—and every one of them offered significantly better service and value. One of our biggest frustrations was that we booked in person the day of arrival and were never informed that the hotel was hosting private events that would take over much of the property. As a result, the pool closed early and we were unable to use the main outdoor restaurant. Had we known this beforehand, it would have influenced our decision to stay. As soon as we arrived and took our first shower, the bathroom flooded. We called the front desk and were told someone would come to fix it, but no one ever did. Breakfast service was also surprisingly poor. On both mornings, our coffee didn’t arrive until we had essentially finished eating. Waiting that long for an average espresso at a luxury hotel was disappointing. The room itself was another letdown. At over $1,300 per night, it was very small and had no meaningful view. Pool service was equally slow, and the glass of white wine we ordered arrived warm and wasn’t even a full pour. To be fair, the location is excellent, the grounds are beautiful, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and courteous. Unfortunately, none of that justified the price. Had this been a mid-range hotel, many of these issues would have been easier to overlook. But at this price point, the overall experience simply didn’t come close to meeting expectations. It’s a beautiful property, but the value just isn’t there.

We passed through Biarritz 9 years ago on our way from San Sebastian to Bordeaux. We saw this hotel back then and vowed to stay here one day. Well the time finally came. We saved up our Hyatt points and got the Ambassador Suite. Later we had more people come so we were able to change our reservation to the 2 br family suite and only pay another $100 a night. Helps that we're globalists. Check-in was wonderful. The guy even gave us a quick tour of the hotel then brought us to our suite. Our suite was so beautiful. 2 br, 2 ba with a parlor/living room in the middle. There was a bottle of wine, fruit with a note from the manager recognizing our globalist status which was nice touch. The pool was amazing. Staff was hit or miss-nobody really comes around to take orders which was weird. You had to flag down an attendant or go up to the front where come in. I ordered food/drinks by the pool and it was fine. Pool menu was expensive ($42 for burger, $12 for bottled water) but it was expected. Breakfast was the best I've ever had in a European hotel and we've stayed at some nice ones. Lots of pastries, deserts, cheeses, meats, potatoes, fruits, prosecco, juices, yogurts etc plus hot dishes to order off the menu. Waitstaff was very attentive in the restaurant and the view was top notch. We ate dinner at the terrace restaurant by the pool and it was good. We didn't really want anything off menu so asked if could get burger and shrimp caesar salad and chef said ok. Again, great waitstaff. There's a team at concierge desk and they were so helpful with restaurant reservations, questions. The person that stood out was the housekeeping staff. The lady we had went above and beyond bringing us extra soaps, water etc. Nightly turn down was much appreciated. Can't really find anything wrong with this hotel. It's expensive but worth the splurge. We're already planning to come back soon. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic building! The rooms and service were also excellent. Dinner was a bit mixed some dished were great others just okay.
