Nice location on the beach Great staff very helpful However the hotel could go with a bit of renovation. Avoid the rooms over the reception area since they are very noisy starting at 7am with deliveries and garbage collection

So we were concerned at some of the negative reviews we read but we have just had a really nice week at this hotel It seems odd that this hotel and the Hotel de Palais are both classed as 5* because there's a huge difference especially in the price! The building is showing its age and the decor is a bit tired but who cares -the staff are all helpful and charming, you have a lovely pool and sauna and Hamman, there is access to the beach, the hotel is quiet - all you hear is the lapping of the waves on the beach, the breakfast is A+ , it's clean and the room was refreshed every day with clean towels All this at a very reasonable price We were sorry to leave

Horrible French customer service. My mother had a stroke and is in hospital and they’re refusing to refund me or move the booking to another day although they have plenty of availability. They literally told me that is not their problem, they are a business and they are here to make money. And I should go to my insurance. They were incredibly haughty and cold. I will never stay in a Sofitel hotel ever again.

Fantastic stay at the Sofitel Biarritz le Miramar. As a Gold Accor Member, I was upgraded to a very nice room overlooking the Ocean. The check-in was super efficient and kind. I like this hotel very much which captures the Sofitel experience very well. Breakfast and dinners were absolutely delicious with a very attentive staff. The treatments at the thalassa center were incredibly good. I loved my experience and cannot wait to go back in April.

disappointing stay, room bathrooms and toilets are very dated, toilets are like something from a 1970s 2 star hotel, unfortunately there were mosquitoes in our room from when we arrived, we got bitten numerous times before I could finally find and kill them on our third night, the staff will find the dead mosquitoes on ceiling of room 601, departure experience was very poor, I emailed our boarding passes to hotel reception asking could they print them for us, after 90 minutes I had still received no reply so went to reception, staff member said I hadn't sent the emails or at least they hadn't received them (I had sent them to 2 email addresses by now), I had to go back to my room to get my laptop to prove that I had actually sent the email(s), when I returned to reception the 2 staff members were still there but refused to speak to me, another guest arrived to check out so 1 staff member dealt with her, still ignoring me, I then asked to speak to a/the manager, second reception staff member now held a derogatory phone conversation about me with her manager thinking that I could not understand French and could not understand what she was saying, manager arrived, I explained the situation and she said they had actually received my emails and would print them, when I informed that the reception person had said otherwise the reception simply gave a Gallic shrug/"who cares" attitude, at the rates that this hotel charges I have no deep desire to have my time wasted, be lied to, deceived, misinformed or criticised in derogatory phone conversations between staff while standing at public hotel reception area
