Wonderful resort. The staff is very attentive and always looking to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are well equipped , clean and very comfortable. The front desk manager Justin was most helpful in making sure our visit was enjoyable. We enjoyed it so much we added an extra day to our reservation. Highly recommend Montage Big Sky.

Great wedding venue, the food was subpar. Lamb was almost raw and not eatable. Chicken was fine. Nothing else on the plate??

We hosted a large event at Montage. The mountain homes were spectacular - comfortable for 5 couples with room to spare. Anything we needed (a shuttle ride, help with luggage, activities) was just a phone call away. The hotel is absolutely stunning. Everyone enjoyed our dinner at Cortina (the squid ink pasta and the Tomahawk steak were standouts). Outstanding wines capped off the experience. I ate something different for breakfast every day, and from yogurt and granola to avocado toast and shakshuka, everything was delicious. Beartooth Pub was the simple, great meal we all needed before bowling for two hours. Everyone from the bell desk to reservations to housekeeping made us feel pampered and welcome. What a fabulous trip!

We had such high hopes for our third visit to a Montage property, having had exceptional experiences at two others. Sadly, Montage Big Sky did not meet the standard we’ve come to expect from this brand. The resort itself is undeniably beautiful, and our room was lovely. But the service and professionalism were noticeably lacking. It felt as though no one truly took ownership of the guest experience or the upkeep of the property. One example: we noticed uneaten breakfast left out in a busy common area with one of the best views on the property early in the morning. Shockingly, the same trash remained untouched six hours later. Even four hours after that, while the trash was finally removed, remnants of the breakfast were still left on the table. It was a clear sign of neglect. Housekeeping was inconsistent. Used wine glasses were left uncleaned after 2 housekeeping visits and the turndown service included a laughably small amount of ice—maybe a dozen cubes. The most frustrating moment came with the shuttle service, which is advertised as a convenience for guests. I scheduled a pickup from the town of Big Sky and was assured it would arrive at a specific time. No one showed up. I called the special shuttle number and was routed to the front desk, where staff had no idea I was waiting. After multiple calls and a 40-minute wait, a driver finally arrived—on his way to pick up someone else—and told me they were combining pickups and drop-offs due to being busy. Had I been informed of the delay, I would have happily spent more time in town. Montage Big Sky is a beautiful property, but beauty alone doesn’t justify the high price tag when service is so inconsistent. We left disappointed and questioning whether the Montage brand is truly committed to excellence across all its locations.

The Good: The valets, bell staff, and concierge were outstanding—always friendly and helpful. One server at Backcast deserves special recognition for being attentive and personable. The Disappointing: Coffee Shop: On a Saturday morning at 9 AM, it took over 30 minutes for pre-made breakfast sandwiches. Pool Service: On three separate visits, we were never approached by staff and had to track someone down to order. Drinks took 20+ minutes or never arrived at all. Managers said items would be comped, but this never happened. Inside Bar: Similar delays—servers often absent for 15–20 minutes at a time. We stayed at several properties during our Montana trip, and while this was the most expensive, it was unfortunately the most disappointing. The setting is stunning, but the lack of attentive service was hard to overlook.
