A mixed experience. We checked in for two days and the room was great and definitely 5*. Went away for one night and returned for a further two nights and unfortunately the new room was not of the same standard. We spoke to the young receptionist (name began with A). She said she couldn’t do anything and was quite dismissive of us really. The room was small, noisy, things were broken (blinds, extractor fan) and very much not 5*. On the second night, a gang of kids had a street party opposite our window with loud, loud music. I rang reception twice asking if they could ask security to speak to them and the receptionist could not have been less helpful. Breakfast was amazing, breakfast staff lovely. Lady with the blonde hair and glasses who checked us out- fantastic. Otherwise, sadly the hotel was an expensive disappointment.

The hotel is fine and the view is great. That being said the security “guards” have personal vendettas against uber and cab drivers. When we were trying to leave - the hotel security guard teamed up with some fat van driver to block the uber driver in from leaving. We almost missed our flight because the HOTEL security guard wouldn’t move the van and other hotel staff had to come out to assist. Super shocking and unsafe feeling for an alleged 5 star hotel. I’ve never experienced anything like that at a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately that really left a mark on our experience at the hotel and I can’t give it anymore stars.

Wonderful hotel in an ideal location. Great rooms, lovely dining area. Excellent staff. It is a great pity that the 7th floor is entirely used for food and drink and there are no loungers for sunbathing. It is also criminal that it is closed between 11am and 4pm every day. This feels like putting hotel staff ahead of hotel residents. After a day of sight-seeing, you might quite fancy a doze in the sun, but this is literally only possible for about 4 people because of the pop up sun shades and lack of space given over to relaxation. Room for improvement for sure.

We stayed here for three nights - and were delighted with the hotel. Great location - across from the amazing architectural jewel - the Guggenheim Museum. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. Our room was small facing the inner courtyard with the amazing vertical sculpture. Our room had all the wonderful amenities - very comfortable bed. The piece de resistance was having breakfast on the rooftop with the view of the Museum! The breakfast buffet was wonderful with plenty of delicious choices. We would definitely return!

When I made this reservation several months ago, I was contacted by a staff member to see if I needed any additional information. I asked about transportation options from Madrid and was immediately given some good advice. This made me feel like this hotel was a good choice. Our room was spacious and had very large twin beds. The bathroom was nice, with an excellent shower, good bathroom products, robes & slippers. Staff very nice, especially the bellmen. Yummy chocolates left for us in the room when we were out at night. The breakfasts were fantastic! Several “cooked options” come with the extensive buffet. We only ate simple things (e,g, omelette, a fried egg), but there were fancier offerings. The service was exceptional, and the view of the Guggenheim from the breakfast terrace was just amazing! Location is fantastic for visiting the Guggenheim and walking along the river. Fine Arts museum also close. We walked into the newer parts of town, but found the old town more interesting in the evenings. A taxi to the old town area is inexpensive. We also walked back one night along the river.
