Staying at The Artist – Grand Hotel of Art is entering the home of the artist. In a place that pays homage, more than to its works, to its awake, restless, and nonconformist spirit. The Artist – Grand Hotel of Art appeals to the sensibility of its guests; to feel creativity, passion for details, curiosity for flavours, and the desire to live new experiences.
In the heart of Bilbao’s artistic district, facing the Guggenheim Museum and just 500 meters from the Museum of Fine Arts, The Artist – Grand Hotel of Art stands as another protagonist of the city’s cultural and artistic life. Both for its guests and its inhabitants. Its location makes us one of the best options to explore the city. The historic center, the Hanging Bridge “Puente Colgante”, the Ribera Market, the Azkuna Center… The distance to Bilbao Airport via the “Salve” Bridge, as well as the access to the highway, quick and agile, offer unique possibilities to explore the Basque Coast; enjoy hiking, nature, culture, surfing, gastronomy, wineries, and vineyards.

An excellent stay, we had a issue with the beds in our room and the hotel were quick to act on this, unfortunately the beds could be fixed so the hotel moved us to a new room and compensation was given as a gesture from the hotel, they were extremely helpful especially the lady who looked after us on the concierge I was unable to get her name but she done and amazing job and looked after us through out the stay, the parking was superb at the hotel however leaving was a different experience, the hotels parking was blocked so my car was on the pavement which was no issue to me however as I could not move forward I was spoken to by a very rude guest at the hotel who demanded I move my car so he could get out (even though no one could move due to traffic) I asked him to wait one minute but he became even more annoyed and began to shout at me, I would have appreciated the hotel staff who look after the parking to have assisted me in this as I done the best I could however the male guest who was arguing with me did not see this Overall a beautiful hotel, great staff and good vibe 10/10

The staff are over the top! The rooms and accommodations are amazing. The location is perfect. Walking distance to the old town. Not to mention across the street from the Guggenheim! What more do you want. Wait there is more… 2 restaurants in the hotel plus the turn down service is Devine!!

We came here because we were only going to be in the city for a night. Everything was great. They allowed dogs they had a great breakfast buffet and loads of products for washing.

I could not recommend a greater place in Bilbao. The drinks are lovely, the rooftop bar gives a great view of Giggenheim and the town, the floor bar has some of the best cocktails. Thank you to Eneritz and the rest of the staff for making our visit an unforgettable time. I will for sure be back for more sangria and aquarius!

Great Stay with Stunning Views We stayed at *The Artist Grand Hotel of Art* in Bilbao in early August 2025 for a weekend trip — my two teenage boys and I — and had two rooms with spectacular views of the Guggenheim Museum. Check-in was excellent: valet took care of the car and luggage, we got an upgrade thanks to credit card perks, and early check-in made things even easier. Rooms were comfortable, well-designed, and had bathtubs we loved after long days out. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a highlight — fresh, complete, à la carte or buffet, with stunning city views. Housekeeping was top-notch, including an evening turndown with whimsical touches and aromatherapy for sleep. The front desk team answered every question with enthusiasm, and special thanks to Paz in housekeeping and Alex at the bar for their warmth and attention. Dinner at *The Gallery* was excellent without breaking the bank, even though the menu also caters to high-end tastes. One drawback: the windows need better soundproofing. The square in front of the hotel sometimes hosts protests or street musicians, and even when fully closed, the windows let in noticeable noise due to a gap between the frame and the pane. Verdict: Wonderful service, comfort, and views — fix the windows and it’s near perfect. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
