Top Tier in Every Way

Backpacking through north western Spain and on my last day I wanted to stay somewhere comfortable. Thank goodness this was my stay on my last day and not the first as if it were my first I don’t think I would have seen anywhere else in Spain!! I did not want to leave this hotel!! The service from beginning to end was impeccable. They honestly made me feel I was the only guest in the entire hotel. Room service was quick and the food oh so tasty, the bed and bedding is so so comfortable it literally hugs you to sleep, the location is perfect, the ambience and decor of the hotel and the room are bar none. The room doesn’t feel stuffy and is spacious. I’m struggling to find any negatives. The most ingenious service was moments after I checked into my room, and as with each of us travelers we do our inspection test, house keeping came by to see if I needed turned down service and to ensure the room was cleaned to my satisfaction. I loved that extra consideration and is something I had never experienced before. The price is worth the stay. I recommend to all other travelers and I do plan to return there again.

A perfect stay in Bilbao

Fantastic hotel, opposite the Guggenheim and quite a short walk to the city’s other main attractions. Staff were absolutely amazing, including the person on reception who checked us in and gave us a detailed map and a list of personal recommendations for food, some of which we tried and were delicious. We ate in the Gallery for lunch one day which was great and good value. Snacks and drinks in the rooftop bar were also good with great views of the museum. The room was perfect, again with great views and the bathroom was a highlight. There’s also a well equipped gym at the hotel as well. We didn’t get chance to eat in the other restaurant but it looked very refined. Overall a perfect stay in Bilbao and I would highly recommend the Artist.

Great location, Guggenheim across the road. Facilities very good. Rooftop restaurant delivers reasonable dinner/breakfast. Make sure you select a room with a view of the Guggenheim. Take a tram to the Old City or Uptown from a convenient stop. 15 mins from the airport by cab. Would stay again.

Modern place with nice style

I think the hotel may now be rebranded as The Artist? It was going through that transformation when we were there. The location is superb - facing the Guggenheim and the Koons puppy by the river in Bilbao. It's ordinary from the outside and sleek and modern on the inside. Like most modern hotels, the rooms are a bit on the small side. If you want to sit down in the room before heading out in the evening, there is one comfy chair and the other person is on the bed or a more upright number. Bathroom is smallish but perfectly OK with two sinks and a shower over the bath. Staff are friendly. The breakfast is very nice - decent selection in the buffet and a nice setting up on the 7th floor overlooking the Guggenheim. Would probably be good for a business trip.
