An old fortress converted into a heritage resort, this historic landmark is a unique example of Jaipur Gharana architecture, as it blends the structural and decorative styles of both the Mogul and British empires. Magnificently set upon a granite hill, the audacious and striking architecture of Alila Fort Bishangarh appears effortlessly sculpted from the surrounding countryside, overlooking 360-degree views of the impressive Rajasthani landscape. With much care given to the ecological restoration, the resort still features the fort’s original two-metre-thick walls and its original battlements, turrets and arches. The soul of the fort has been passionately brought to life, recreating the courtly flavor of nearby city’s royalty while retaining its stark and inherent simplicity.

Had an amazing, relaxing massage at the Alila Spa with Chaijing. The facilities are top-notch, too — the steam room at the end was divine.

This trip really surprised me in so many ways and different aspects. Spoiler alert!!!: the view of the fort as you are driving towards it really sets the tone for your stay. Imagine as if you are driving through the villages and mountains of india and here appears a massive/grand fort. Just incredible. Let me start with the overall experience of the stay. From the welcome to our room, the staff make sures you are feeling warm and welcomed. I speak more highly about the dining experience i received at the amarsar dining lounge. Sakshi, team, and the head chef would come regularly to ensure our needs were met and our bellys were full. The experience is nothing less than royalty and luxury. Personally, you feel like you are walking in and staying at a piece of indian history. Living like a member of royalty in 17 to 1800s. But, to ensure the rooms and facilities are not from the 1800s, they are world class and clean. Slabs of marble everywhere. Rooms are huge/modern and decorated to feel like a heritage experience.

I stayed at Alila Fort Bishangarh (Sept 19–21, 2025) while attending the ILC conference. While the property itself is charming, the staff service was a complete letdown. • Bathroom amenities empty on arrival. • Dirty coffee cups left after “cleaning.” • An ice pack delivered warm. • Restaurant tables not cleared, staff struggled with simple orders, and basic service etiquette was missing. • Most concerning: despite repeated requests, a band-aid for my wife was never provided — even after hours. The fort is beautiful, but the service is shockingly poor for a Hyatt property. As a frequent traveller and Club Hyatt member, this was a complete disappointment and a waste of money. Guests should be aware and manage expectations accordingly.
