Poor Hospitality and No one is their to take responsibility

I am writing this to share my deep disappointment with the experience we recently had at Hyatt Alila Fort Bishangarh, where we had come with a group of 30 people to celebrate my baby’s first birthday. What should have been a joyful and memorable celebration turned into a highly stressful event due to multiple lapses in service and management. The following issues were faced during our function between 4–6 PM: 1. Balloon Setup Obstruction – At the time of setup, the Duty Manager did not allow balloons, stating that the decoration team must clean up after the program. I must ask: since when has it become the guest’s responsibility to clear setups? By that logic, should guests also be expected to wash plates after dining? For a child’s birthday, denying balloon decoration is unreasonable. Only after arguments was permission granted, which already spoiled the mood. 2. No Basic Support for Setup – Even after approval, there was no staff available to provide electricity support. Due to this, the decoration setup was delayed, which pushed back the entire celebration schedule. 3. Speaker Issue – Despite multiple requests, a speaker was provided only after insistence. The manager’s reasoning that “we were not informed earlier” is not acceptable. It is obvious that children’s parties require sound/music. This basic facility should have been anticipated and supported without hassle. 4. Insufficient Seating – Shockingly, only two tables were arranged for a group of 30 persons. This is a complete failure in planning and reflects poorly on the property’s service standards. 5. Cake Service Denied – After cake cutting, waiters refused to serve the cake. This is unthinkable at a property under the Hyatt name. Hospitality should be about assisting and celebrating with the guests, not denying such a simple and essential request. Overall, despite our excitement and happiness for the occasion, the management’s lack of preparedness, coordination, and hospitality completely ruined the experience. Instead of cherishing memories, we were left regretting our decision to celebrate such a special milestone at Hyatt Alila Fort. As a guest who trusted the Hyatt brand, I feel extremely let down. I request you to take this feedback seriously and address: • Why such basic arrangements (tables, speaker, setup support) were not in place? • Why the on-duty manager was uncooperative and dismissive of guest needs? • What measures will be taken to ensure no guest faces such an experience again? I hope Hyatt values its reputation and guest trust enough to respond promptly and meaningfully to this feedback.
