Reviews for Cloister at The Boca Raton

A little bit of work to be done

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

I’m a Lifetime Diamond member, so I feel qualified to leave a review. First off, amazing renovation, very modern and appealing room. BIG fridge, not full size, but close to it. Spacious room of course, it is a suite hotel. Fitness center is modern and very spacious, top notch with new equipment. No restaurant, but breakfast is top notch with multiple options included. Hotel is open air, but covered, unusual design, but not conventional. Pool did not use, but it was beautiful and would have used it if with children. Did I mention free drinks at the bar!?!! Negatives, only one ice machine, on first floor, hope that is being addressed. The biggest issue I had, the room doors slam shut. I don’t understand why a hotel would want that. It’s very annoying to hear all your neighbors arrive back to their rooms. If the two negatives are addressed, I would give this hotel a resounding 4 stars.

The Fabulous Boca Raton Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We just returned from a one week visit to the Boca Raton Hotel in Boca RatonFlorida. This was our second trip in the last 6 months. We have visited multiple times and our experience is always great. We stayed at the Yacht Club, one of the four main hotel properties on the premises. We love this location for a few reasons. Among others: the suites are large and beautifully appointed; this is the only hotel on the property that is adults only and dog friendly; breakfast is served every morning for Yacht Club guests at the Flybridge restaurant on the 8th floor. All of these contribute to what can only be described as a luxurious experience. High praise goes to everyone at the Yacht Club reception area. Aaron Senturk, Milou and Shafeeq at the Front Desk provided excellent customer service. We did bring our small dog with us; they always provided treats for her. Flybridge restaurant is commanded by Carmen Halic. She is a fabulous manager/hostess and makes everyone feel like family. Colleen Fischer in the business center was very helpful with our business needs. We can’t wait to return again. Ron DiPietro

Completely overrated!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

The Boca Raton Resort is, unfortunately, one of the most overrated luxury resorts I've stayed at. We arrived as a family of four (two adults and two children) to celebrate my 40th birthday and immediately realized the room setup was going to be a problem. The room was advertised with two full beds, but the beds felt significantly smaller, almost like oversized twins. We asked whether a rollaway bed could be added and were told it was not possible due to fire code restrictions. Not ideal, but we decided to make it work. The bigger issue was the noise. The soundproofing between rooms is shockingly poor for a property at this price point. There was a newborn in the room next door who cried repeatedly throughout the night. I could hear every detail as if the baby were inside our room. The crying lasted for long stretches around midnight, again at 3 a.m., and by early morning we were awake once more. The walls are so thin that I could literally hear the mother's phone conversation the next morning, word for word, while she was discussing how much the baby had been crying. For a luxury resort, this level of noise insulation is unacceptable. Pool service was equally disappointing. I have no issue paying resort prices, but the service simply doesn't match the cost. Drinks routinely took 45 minutes to an hour to arrive. By then, frozen drinks were watery and melted. On our first day, part of our order was incorrect, and when we followed up about a missing piña colada for our four year old son, the replacement arrived containing alcohol. He had already consumed a significant portion before we realized the mistake. That should never happen. The second day wasn't much better. Ordering was possible, but actually finding someone to close out the check became a challenge because the server disappeared for long stretches. We also paid for the FlowRider experience. At $40 per child for a 30 minute session, we expected a reasonable amount of participation time. What we weren't told is that the session is shared among six children, and turns are effectively determined by how quickly each child falls rather than by time. Because my children were among the youngest participants, they spent most of the session waiting while older, more experienced riders stayed on longer. Combined, my kids probably spent less than two minutes actually riding while waiting close to an hour. The value proposition was extremely poor. The one bright spot of our stay was Bocce. Dinner was excellent, the service was attentive, and the food was outstanding. It was expensive, but unlike much of the resort, it felt worth the price. Overall, The Boca Raton charges luxury prices but falls short in too many areas that matter: room comfort, soundproofing, service, and attention to detail. There are plenty of nice amenities, but for the cost, I expected a far better experience.

Trip of a lifetime

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My husband and I spent three nights at the Boca Raton Beach Club celebrating my 40th birthday, and from the moment we arrived, it was nothing short of magical. We were greeted by the staff and surprised with an upgrade to an oceanfront suite complete with butler service. That was only the beginning of an unforgettable stay. The level of service was truly beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. Every staff member went above and beyond at every turn, providing exemplary white-glove service throughout our trip. The food was phenomenal, the amenities were unmatched, and every detail exceeded our expectations. My husband and I have already decided we’ll be back for his 40th birthday — next time with the kids! Staying at the Boca Raton was truly a trip of a lifetime.

Incredible Glow-Up

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

What a Glow-Up! I stayed at the hotel over 10 years ago and it was clearly in need of a refresh. WOW - what a refresh! The property has kept its iconic history but added incredibly beautiful renovations to rooms, beach club, spa, fitness center, dining - everything is 5-star! Highly recommend!
