Reviews for The Marmara Bodrum

You’ve found the best hotel in Bodrum City

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

If you’re thinking about booking this hotel, just do it. Honestly, stop faffing around, you’ve found the best hotel in Bodrum City. I promise you. This absolutely stunning 5-star hotel sits on a hill with the most breathtaking view you’ll ever see. It’s the kind of view that stays with you long after you’ve left. The design is beautiful and authentically Turkish, with artistic touches everywhere. You can tell that every detail has been thought through, and the whole place is clearly cared for with real pride. Breakfast deserves its own paragraph. It’s superb, and here’s the insider tip: you can order omelettes, eggs (scrambled, poached, Benedict, Turkish-style, you name it) at no extra charge. And whatever you do, don’t forget the Turkish tea or coffee. The staff are genuinely lovely and it’s obvious they’re proud to work there. We had a wonderful massage in the spa on day two, which set the holiday off perfectly. A big shout-out to the spa manager Sim and Malia (apologies if we’ve remembered the names wrong) – you were both amazing. The spa and gym are brilliant. There’s a fantastic sauna, steam room and a proper Turkish hammam. The facilities have been recently renovated so it all feels fresh and modern. Just to note, the jacuzzi is no longer there, but you won’t miss it. Our bedroom was beautifully designed. We stayed in room 1210 with a sea view – stunning. But to be honest, every room here is a win, even the most basic. Now for the pool situation. Forget about 5am sunbed wars – there are plenty to go around, and the whole atmosphere is calm and relaxed. There’s even a second pool if you fancy swimming proper lengths. You MUST eat in the hotel restaurant at least once during your stay. The food is outstanding, and with that view, it’s something special. If you can, time it with the live music on Friday or Saturday night. The walk to town is all downhill, about 15 minutes, and actually quite nice. Coming back up… well, let’s just say it’s character building. Unless, of course, you’re sensible and grab a taxi. They’re everywhere, cost about 240 TRY (£5), and save you puffing your way up after dinner. While in Bodrum, definitely take a day trip by boat for swimming and snorkelling. They’re all much of a muchness, so just book via Viator to avoid haggling on the street – and don’t pay more than £25 each. Totally worth it. Foodies, you’re in luck: Bodrum has three Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants. Visit them all, they’re outstanding. And don’t miss Bodrum Castle – go late in the evening when it’s cooler and quieter. Of course, no hotel is perfect, and the only “compromise” here is that hill. But let’s be honest, a fiver in a taxi is hardly a hardship. I really hope this helps. Now stop dithering and book it – we got a great deal through EasyJet Holidays. Huge thanks to the whole hotel team, you were wonderful. See you again one day. Miles and Georgina

Lovely staff

A really lovely hotel, well situated above the city but only a few minutes taxi ride into the town. Great pool, nice rooms and above all super friendly staff. Special thanks go to the staff on reception, Ahmet, Efekan, Batin and Gothon not forgetting the superb cocktails around the pool made by Ali Riza. Restaurant is excellent and the water pressure in the shower blew our mind (literally).

Delightful 10 Days of Relaxation & Indulgence. Peaceful and tranquil.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Situated a very short taxi ride from Bodrum Marina/New Town & Old Town (350 TL/£3), the Marmara is ideal for those wanting a 5 star experience with 5 star views over Bodrum and surrounding sea and islands. The beauty of the Marmara is indulgence, tranquillity with a short hop to the Marina/bars/restaurant's which are in abundance. The team at the Marmara could not be more helpful and friendly. Breakfast captivates al fresco dining on the veranda overlooking the city. Tuti 5 star restaurant a must during the stay. The gym and spa has had a recent upgrade from our last visit with new equipment, pulley systems to help keep the beach body in good shape :) Sinan always doing a great job at hand to help and support and a genuine and friendly voice - as a fitness trainer he puts in the hard work and always a great fitness advocate - keep up the great work. The front desk team 24/7 - gated entrance allows for a safe and hospitable stay. 10/10 for the corner room, the attentive day staff servicing the rooms and turn down night service - if you are looking for a peaceful and indulging stay in a beautiful boutique 5 star, then Marmara Bodrum is a perfect choice. Great value for money - cleanliness a premium, the staff work hard for their paying guests and no stone is unturned to ensure a memorable experience. Being in tranquil surrounds, no hustle or bustle from near Bodrum - noise level minimum.

A lovely hotel with great staff. We will return

A Wonderfully Relaxing Stay at The Marmara Bodrum We have just spent a lovely week at The Marmara Hotel in Bodrum, and it was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. The hotel has a quietly understated charm that makes it the perfect place to unwind. Our room was spacious, very comfortable, and offered the most amazing views over Bodrum – truly breathtaking at any time of day. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a delicious Turkish spread and eggs made to order. The hotel has two beautiful pools, both with equally stunning views across Bodrum. Service throughout my stay was excellent – the staff are warm, attentive, and always happy, which really added to the experience. Overall, a wonderfully relaxing stay – I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bodrum.

Your elevated Bodrum experience!!

This place totally flies under the radar! I had spent weeks researching where to stay and this never came up for me. Luckily my friend knew what’s up. This place is everything and more especially for the price point!! The views are incredible, location is central, staff goes above and beyond, and don’t get me started on the breakfast or poolside drinks - it’s unreal. Additionally, the hotel has a partnership with Flamm beach club - this was such a nice surprise. They have a free shuttle there every day (leaves at 11:30am and returns 5:30pm) and the day pass is complimentary for Maramara guests. You can walk for 15 min to the main port in Bodrum with all the shopping. Lastly, the hotel helped us book a private boat for the day. This was the absolute highlight of our trip! The concierge won’t steer you wrong; tell them your vacation dreams and they will make them happen for you!!
