As a very satisfied visitor to this property several times before its sale, I must report a very disappointing stay ! New management is lacking in every regard ! No manager or assistant manager on premises throughout our 4 day stay ! . Completely inadequate check-in procedure . Room lacks basic necessities .. a paltry piece of soap, a pathetically small size of body lotion, not even one piece of paper or stationery in the room, very slow maid service , no robes in room, not a plastic cup in the bathroom. The constant texting and e mails to the customer throughout the stay (to encourage the use of pricey activities on the premises) are beyond annoying , especially since I have repeatedly asked that they be considered as “junk” and indicate “delete “ each time they appear as an e mail or text …and the nerve to send some of them unsolicited at the crack of dawn! I am sad that I have to report this situation, but it is an honest appraisal .

Ok, the setting is beautiful but the place is crumbling and our room musty and masked by air fresheners. There is absolutely NO maintenance policy, with a giant sewer pipe in the middle of the lawn that looks onto the spectacular view and overgrown bushes. The fitness room is filthy and nothing works in the Game Room of Broken Toys. To give an example, the knob from the nonworking Frogger video game was the "ball" for foosball; we guessed another guest got resourceful. The pool cushions filthy, the pool deck crumbling. I could go on and on. We left early because we couldn't stand the place another minute. The staff wasn't even interested in our complaints... terrible experience.

We had an amazing experience as a family traveling with 11 and 9 year old sons. I was a little concerned given some of the negative reviews, but it seems like they are mostly from people expecting something other than what Spruce Point has to offer based on the high cost. It is not a luxury resort, but it’s perfect for a family with kids who enjoy activities and want to socialize with other families. We traveled in mid-August, and everything higher end in Boothbay Harbor was either booked or pricey. We choose Spruce Point due to all of the activities and kid-friendly amenities, and I am positive it was the right choice and a better fit for our family than anything closer to town. We loved having access to the shuttle to town but spent most of our time at the resort, swimming in the gorgeous oceanfront pool or hot tub, playing in the rec room or with other kids in the field area, and walking the on-site trails. Spruce Point is not walkable to anything, but the shuttle runs every hour from 9 am to 9 pm, so it’s easy to pop into town. The setting is so beautiful and relaxing, and our room (Evergreen 14) had a gorgeous ocean view (it was a partial ocean room) and was huge with a large bathroom with big tub and separate shower. We had a fridge and microwave, which came in handy with leftovers and allowed us to eat yogurt and smoothies for breakfast and save a little money. I would highly recommend Spruce Point to any families with kids ages 2-18 traveling together, but it probably isn’t the best value or location for couples looking to avoid young kids (hence some of the negative reviews).

Beautiful Inn located about 2 miles from Boothbay Harbor downtown. Very laid back area. Family atmosphere. Many had their animals with them. Beautiful views of the bay. Make sure you get an early seat to see the sun go down. Room is large. Bed was uncomfortable. Shower had great water pressure. Loved our balcony views. Great spa visit. Best massage I have had in a long time. Restaurant - I had a great burger. Be sure to bring snacks and beverages. No store on site. Service - some seemed put out if you asked a question.

Lovely property with great views. Very welcoming staff and lots of room/cabin options for couples or families. Pools are nice and well maintained, the front pool is a bit small and packed. Not relaxing for adults but the views are lovely. We ate casually outside on the deck, food was very good and staff were very attentive. Wish we had booked for a few nights to really take in all the amenities and see more of booth bay.
