Reviews for Spruce Point Inn Resort & Spa

Not worth the money

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

I’m sorry to report that we were very disappointed in this resort. It is very dated and has a musky smell throughout. The place looks like it was amazing in its day but has not been kept up. The rooms in the main building are quite pricey and are definitely not worth it. The view is very nice but the rooms are small, the bathroom only fits one, window air conditioners are taped with duct tape to the windows, next to no outlets (had to unplug a lamp to plug in phone charger). The balconies have no dividers so you are extremely close to your neighbors to the point it is uncomfortable. The landscaping is beautiful and the views are lovely but this place is definitely not worth the money. Hopefully they will decide to invest the money into renovations because this place COULD be amazing

Could be lovely but they missed the mark

A beautiful location and it seems like this place was likely a total gem in its prime. Unfortunately it appears that there has been no upkeep. The shared spaces, bathrooms, pool, decks, and kayaks all are in need of a good cleaning and repair. The food at the hotel was ok but the service was appalling. The staff was friendly but seemed to lack communication and management. We waited 2 hours for food (which is not an exaggeration) consisting of a few kids pizzas, salad and fish. Our waitress acted as if that was the norm. We quickly leaned to leave the resort for food. There just doesn’t seem to be enough staff. Very difficult to get food and drinks, there was coffee only in the morning and no place to get snacks. The kids rec hall and the gym were very dirty and run down as well. Our room was very pretty but nothing worked and for the very expensive rate I would have expected more. The property does not look the same as the pictures. I’m not sure if it’s low staffing to save money while still charging resort prices or perhaps it’s just difficult to get staff in that area. Regardless, the prices should reflect the lack of amenities or they need to find ways to hire more staff and better leadership. I had a wonderful time in booth bay but would likely recommend another hotel.

Cool property

Lovely bayside property with activities, and a luxe camp vibe. The Salty Stag was good, although a little pricey. There is a trolley that takes you into town.

Beautiful hidden gem. We were very sad to leave and will be going back!

Hidden gem. Beyond gorgeous. Quiet and tranquil. We left feeling very relaxed and sad to go. We will return with our children. We went for a romantic getaway, and it was beyond our expectations. Beautiful well-kept and charming grounds.

Average and disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This place looked really nice online but in person, the room was really not very nice. It was dark and outdated and smelled of mildew. While the staff were quite nice, we did not feel the hotel experience was customer friendly at all--none of the nice touches that you would expect and a lot of things we would have wanted were lacking. Overall, it was just average.
