Reviews for Spruce Point Inn Resort & Spa

Great place, dated & dirty room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This is a beautiful property and set perfectly in Booth Bay Harbor. Sunsets are amazing. The room was dated and carpet was dirty enough that our bare feet turned black from shower to bed area. It was bad. If rooms were better, and cleaner, this would be a 5 star review for sure. The people were very nice.

Go for the location, come home with the memories.

Our recent vacation at Spruce Point Inn met all our expectations. Location, cleanliness, atmosphere, food and staff were outstanding. The pool area, furniture and hot tub were all brand new. The flowers and grounds were beautiful. We had an updated bungalow, Seabreeze, with a semi separate living room, huge bedroom area and a very large bathroom with jacuzzi tub and walkin shower. Some negative reviews mention very dated accommodations. The large cottages with multiple bedrooms and full kitchen are very rustic. Families we talked to, who were staying in them, were thrilled with the rustic Maine appearance. You need to confirm that the room you choose has been updated before you make your reservation.

Relaxing and Beautiful Views

We have been going to SPI every summer for the last five years. The location is stunning and the property is very unique. We love the family friendly atmosphere. Two pools help to mix things up and you can jump into the ocean off the dock.

Gone downhill.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

This place has gone way downhill since my last visit 2 years ago. Shabby rooms and clueless slow staff. TV out for a day, clay tennis courts full of weeds, no one to help with kayaks, rooms not made up until 5 pm , not enough pool towels, damp musty rooms. They used to have a shuttle service into town that would pick you back up whenever you requested. That was discontinued. They also had more boat trips from their dock before. S’mores in evening now are only on Friday and Saturday. Harbor tour from their dock is now $30/person over 5 years old and only available Wednesday through Saturday.

Communication issues

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

My family and I had a nice stay other than an unfortunate and avoidable communication issue with hotel staff. In short, despite booking >1 month ahead and multiple calls in advance for confirm availability/ assurances that a pack and play would be available for our young son, we were told upon arrival that none were available. Instead, we were offered a pull out couch with no child safety barriers as an alternative. We were then erroneously told several times the next day that a pack and play would be available, but one was not available until the early afternoon by which time our son was exhausted. While we clearly understand pack and plays are in high demand, if we were told honestly, at any of the times we communicated with hotel staff, that one was not available, we could have made alternate arrangements. Instead, we lost a night of rest and half a day of vacation, waiting around with an exhausted, upset toddler for a pack and play we were told repeatedly would show up, but did not. The lack of accurate or clear communication was disappointing and disruptive for our family vacation. We hope changes can be made to avoid these problems for future guests.
