Don’t Expect Ambassador Benefits Here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 23 hours ago

I had mentioned that this stay was for a special family occasion and had requested any Ambassador benefits that could help make the experience memorable for my family. However, we did not receive anything, even though I saw in other reviews that many guests were offered something special. I had also requested a room upgrade in advance but never received any response, and my request for a late checkout was declined without any apology. Instead, I was simply told that it was the hotel’s right and that I should choose between 10,000 points or a $50 credit, which was quite disappointing. On our last day, even a one‑hour extension from the 11 a.m. checkout time was denied, and there were no kids’ activities available, so we ended up leaving early for Le Moana. We were also not informed about the renovation work in advance or at check‑in. The check‑in process itself felt rushed and unfriendly, with no explanation provided as we were asked to sign multiple documents. These issues had nothing to do with Ambassador terms, yet they shaped our impression of the service.Regarding the renovation notice, the information on your website states: ‘Partial closure of the hotel – From June 2025 to mid‑2026, the left branch of the overwater villas (south side) will undergo a full renovation… Our Deep Ocean Spa is open for treatments but the spa facilities are closed.’ This wording gives the impression that only the spa facilities are affected. However, in reality, the leisure activities area, the organic garden, and the entire path toward the helipad were all closed. We were not given any map or guidance about which areas were accessible, so we had to walk to each place ourselves only to find them blocked. This lack of communication significantly impacted our stay. At checkout, there was only one staff member available, and the process took much longer than expected. My family waited for almost an hour, and I felt very sorry for them. If you are considering purchasing Ambassador for room upgrades or late checkout, I would not recommend it, as it seems the only benefits consistently offered here are either $100 or 20,000 points.

Our Dream Spring Break Turned Into a Nightmare

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My family of four booked two overwater villas at this hotel from April 1 to April 5, hoping to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime spring break vacation. However, shortly after checking in on April 1, our 10-year-old daughter slipped in the bathroom. Her foot struck the glass shower door, causing the entire door to shatter. She suffered multiple cuts on her legs and a deep triangular laceration on her foot. The hotel staff provided first aid that day, and a doctor examined her the following day, changed her dressing, and issued a medical report. I requested an official incident report from the hotel, but the manager told me he could only report the incident to the corporate office and that the official report would be provided within one week. The hotel informed us that it would only cover our daughter’s medical expenses, and that any other compensation would have to be handled through its insurance company. Because of the injury, our daughter was unable to swim, snorkel, or participate in almost all of the activities we had planned. Our entire spring break was effectively ruined. What disappointed us even more was what happened afterward. Despite repeated follow-ups over the following months, we never received the promised incident report. We received no compensation beyond the medical expenses, no goodwill gesture, and no meaningful communication. For a luxury resort, the lack of accountability and compassion was deeply disappointing. A beautiful destination alone does not make a five-star experience. How a hotel responds when a guest is injured matters just as much. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of our expectations. In addition, we found the resort disappointing in many other ways. There appeared to be maintenance work taking place during our stay, which raised concerns about safety. The food was surprisingly poor for a luxury resort, and mosquitoes were a constant nuisance throughout our visit. Out of respect for our daughter’s privacy and to comply with TripAdvisor’s media guidelines, we are not sharing photos of her injuries. Instead, we are sharing photos of the shattered glass scene where the accident occurred.

10/10 experience, would definitely recommend!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Me and my partner decided to have our wedding ceremony at the Intercontinental and also stayed here and let me just say, this was the best stay I’ve ever had anywhere! The staff who were all so helpful and lovely (big thanks to Leana, Nina and the man at the front desk who checked us in and out - unfortunately I didn’t get his name), and made our big day so easy and stress free. Starting with arrival - we arrived at 9am and our ceremony was at 11am, they allowed us to check into our room early so we could get ready with ease and even steamed my husbands suit for us! Leana stayed with us throughout the whole ceremony and photoshoot afterwards and Nina was with us for just the ceremony. Both of the girls took lovely photos of us at our ceremony, printed them and displayed them nicely on our table for when we got back. It was the lovely thoughtful touches like this that made our day so so special and perfect! The room itself was 10/10, the view was incredible and the villas were so spacious and spotless! Lots of really cool touches like the glass coffee table that opens over the sea! Everything about this resort was absolutely incredible, we stayed with them right before they closed for renovations so the resort was super quiet - we only really saw less than 20 people or so during our stay! We also loved the fact that all of the staff went above and beyond to make your stay seamless, from things like an early check in to having a day room after we checked out before the boat came to take us back. Nothing was ever inconvenient/annoying for us, it was such a relaxing experience. It was very private which was lovely and had the best view of the mountains on the mainland of Bora Bora. Honestly, couldn’t think of a better place to have had our wedding & honeymoon, I would definitely recommend this hotel!!
