Poised on Motu Tevairoa, only a ten-minute boat ride from the airport and fifteen minutes across the lagoon from the village of Vaitape, Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts combines heavenly location and proximity to the mainland. The resort boasts authentic Polynesian style and architecture and certainly offers some of the most traditionally designed rooms and villas in Bora Bora. While overwater bungalows are Bora Bora’s iconic accommodation type, the resort also features spacious Garden and Beach Villas with Pool. The 107 bungalows and villas are nestled in a beautiful tropical garden, on the beach and of course above the turquoise lagoon.

I am well traveled, and this is my third time in French Polynesia, but my first time at La Bora Bora. I have to say, I am blown away. The beauty, comfort, kindness, and romance is over the top! Nowhere on their website or in these reviews, do I see mention of the incredible gardens. There are acres of tropical gardens, including large totems, statuary, a vegetable garden, all manner of tropical foliage, enormous butterfly installations, not to mention a Jurassic Park! My favorites are the lily ponds. They would make Monet jealous. White and lavender flowers unfurl in the morning sun. I have seen quibbles with the food in previous reviews, and I don’t understand them. We are mostly vegetarian, which is difficult in this part of the world, but every meal has been creative and delicious and there are many options spread over several lovely restaurants. We chose a beach villa which borders on the turquoise lagoon in front and features a walled private garden with dipping pool in the rear. Bed and linens are all very comfortable. Towel swans and flowers welcomed us. I think it is Heaven on Earth and I never want to leave.

A truly lovely stay in Bora Bora, in an overwater bungalow. Great room, staff and food. An excellent relaxed stay prior to returning home.

We just returned from a magnificent romantic stay. We wanted an authentic French Polynesian experience so we selected this Relais & Chateau hotel and we have absolutely no regrets. We also desired a quaint, intimate experience and Le Bora Bora delivered. The staff were knowledgeable and consistently warm, friendly and attentive. The grounds are stunning. We opted for the beach side bungalow for more privacy and it was an excellent choice. It was very spacious, immaculate with a charming Polynesian decor. We had an open mind regarding Polynesian cuisine and we were never disappointed during lunch or dinner. Breakfast is included and everything was fresh and tasty. It mostly rained overnight. We had plenty of sun or a nice overcast so we forgot that it was the “rainy season”. We found relaxation, serenity and luxury and would gladly visit a Pearl Resort again.

The place is a gem, the staff are guardian angels, and the experience on the whole unique. The guests are pampered already at Bora Bora airport. If you choose a villa with a pool, you will enjoy natural seclusion with all amenities. And be prepared for a surprise :)

This spot is difficult to get anywhere else to from this hotel. You have to take the free ferry to the mainland, and then from their arrange your own transportation, which can be $50-$100 to the other side of the island one way to then take another ferry to another hotel. And then on your return, you need another taxi and then we’ll have to pay for the ferry back to this hotel. There are other options for a few food places on the mainland, which will arrange the transportation. There are four restaurants in total, but to be honest, two of them seem to be more diner like. I mention all of this because the food at this hotel is just OK. I don’t know if it’s any better anywhere else. Do not come for the food. You will be disappointed. Sometimes restaurants are randomly closed, which is a disappointment since options are incredibly limited. I understand they need to work their business, but I too am spending money coming here and as a traveler was quite disappointed to only have one restaurant option and with no ability to get anywhere else w ease. The buffet breakfast was good though Next, be sure that you request a Mountain View room. Do not get a room that’s only facing the lagoon. You will miss the majesty of what is Bora Bora. I think all Mountain View rooms also have a view of the lagoon since the Lagoon is surrounding all of the overwater bungalows. Despite having limited occupancy, they would not move us. Overwater bungalows are beautiful. Very tastefully done If you are comfortable, staying in the same spot without leaving, then the spot might be OK but again do not come for the food. Which is also a very pricey. The people who work here are Lovely We had a wonderful time with Jean and Linda Consider booking Rosto but book him off of the hotel as the hotel upcharges around $30. Consider moorea.
