Classic stylish Back Bay Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Beautiful hotel and in a fabulous location in Back Bay near plenty of good restaurants and shops and within walking distance of the sites and close to metro station. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Received upgrade on our room to a suite which was a beautifully equipped room and a very welcome treat. Would definitely return when back in Boston

Charming hotel with excellent location at the top of Newbury street with access to restaurants, shops, and transportation. Well appointed and comfy rooms served by an attentive and friendly staff. We have stayed several times as a family and will return again.

Beautiful, quiet hotel with amazing staff!

The staff are wonderful. They are very warm and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful with lots of small touches to make me feel at home, including convenient outlets and night lights in the bathroom. It is also very quiet for a city hotel.

Absolute Quintessential Boston Experience. Service 2nd to none, location perfect for business and a Sox game. Staff was more than helpful. I will be back next year, 100%. I mentioned to the staff it was my birthday upon checking out. Not only was I wished a happy birthday by the staff they gifted me an Eliot Hotel stuffy bear that I can give to my niece! Room was excellent, I was upgraded to a suite upon arrival. The cleanliness was second to none. I absolutely would choose no other hotel in Boston for the value and superior offered. My upgraded room was quietly secluded suite with everything you could want. Although I did not enjoy their restaurant or the in room service it is certainly on the docket for my return visit next summer!! TY Eliot Hotel!

Not great

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Staying here now. Not great so far. Have mixed opinions. Love the location and Umi. However, there are a bunch of negatives. House cleaning is not great. No toilet paper replacement so had to call down at midnight to request it two times. Our room cleaning was skipped today. The door tag says “do not disturb” on one side and “cleaning in progress” on the other side. I was leaving the room today and noticed we still had “do not disturb” on it, so I tried to turn it over to say cleaning requested..like most hotels have on the door tag. but this one had “Cleaning Service in progress” on it so I couldn’t really put that either so I dropped the tag on the floor hoping they would realize we are requesting room cleaning as I left the room. (They only gave us one key so it was with my husband and I had no choice but to put the door tag on the floor hoping they realized I was taking do not disturb off so they would clean. But I Came back to the room many hours later at 8 PM and apparently the Cleaning Lady stuck the tag back on for it to say do not disturb. So nobody cleaned our room. When we complained at 8 PM when we came back, they then proceeded to send someone up to clean it who did not understand we actually wanted to clean that evening so we had to go down to the front desk again and explain we actually wanted to clean that evening. So we left the room for 30 minutes and came back however she never replaced the toilet paper. So at midnight, we had to request that. The room does not have a full length mirror, and Lighting is very low so when you were getting ready…it’s not ideal. Bathroom is very small and shower super small. For the amount paid, we would expect better house cleaning service and a room with a nicer bathroom and lighting and mirror to get ready. It cost almost $1,000 per night and it’s def not worth it. Unfortunately, we are not living this hotel:(.
