It is one of the United States' most historic cities, and now one of the world's finest hotel groups is making its mark on Boston's own Boylston Street in the city's exclusive Back Bay neighborhood. With 136 rooms and a dozen suites, Mandarin Oriental, Boston has the feel of a boutique property, offering an intimate ambiance in the midst of an urban environment. The rooms and suites, some of the city's most generously sized, swathe guests in designer linens and quench desires with luxurious soaking tubs and the latest technological gadgets. Enjoy the atmosphere in Asana, the hotel's signature restaurant, which serves authentic new England seasonal cuisine. M Bar & Lounge, with its eye-catching wine wall, dazzles guests with a menu of exotic cocktails.

My wife and 15 year old twin boys treated ourselves to 3 nights at the Mandarin Oriental Boston. We had connecting rooms, which was ideal--the boys had their own room with two doubles, and we had a king room. The rooms are clean, quiet and very large for a city hotel. The beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are beautiful. The service is fantastic. Everyone liked the "free" bottles of Adirondack water. We joined the MO rewards program, which entitled us to a generous breakfast credit in Ramsay's kitchen--the onsite restaurant. (Note that the tip is not included in the credit.) This was definitely worth it but, to join, you must book directly with MO. Luckily we had. The location is great for families--right in the heart of back bay. We walked down Newbury St. to the Common and Public Garden one day and up to the Museum of Fine Arts the next day. The hotel actually connects indoors to the Prudential Center mall, which connects indoors to the Copley Place mall, so there are things to do if the weather is bad. We liked poking around Eataly--a large market-style store in the Prudential mall. Also the Blue Bottle coffee in the Prudential Mall was excellent. We parked for three nights in the Prudential Center garage (which is expensive, but not as expensive as the hotel's valet) and never used our car. We just Ubered if we needed to go somewhere not within walking distance. We had dinner one night at the Legal Seafood in the newish harbor front area of Boston. (One of our kids loves Legal Seafood.) We had considered staying at hotels in that area, but I'm glad we didn't end up there. The area is nice, but it's too far from what interested us. My wife said this is the nicest hotel she's ever stayed in. 'Nuf said.

I have high expectations when it comes to hotels. I could not find a single flaw at the Mandarin Oriental Boston. It was an incredible, next level experience. We were surrounded by refined elegance and exceptional service in a desirable and convenient location. Unbeatable. I booked through AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts, as I enjoy the perks offered by this program. After reviewing the many options available in the Back Bay area, I selected the Mandarin Oriental, and that was the best decision ever. Upon arrival, Kevin at the reception desk greeted us warmly and informed us that we had been upgraded 5 levels to a residential suite. I was happy to hear this, but was not prepared for the magnificence of the suite. Suite 611 had definite "wow" factor. Very spacious, with living room, bedroom, kitchenette, 1.5 bathrooms, 2 closets, tons of storage areas and thoughtful touches and details everywhere. We don't usually use kitchenettes, but this one was special, with pull-out refrigerator drawers and a Le Creuset pot. The suite was immaculate and surpassed my high standards. Everything worked properly and we had more than we needed right at our fingertips. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable and the room, despite overlooking a rather busy street, was quiet. I am a light sleeper, and enjoyed three restful nights here. The bathroom offered a deep tub, rainfall shower with good water pressure, a Toto toilet, and every amenity needed plus more. We loved the limitless quantities of Saratoga spring water in pretty blue glass bottles that were provided by housekeeping and the reception desk. Our suite offered a wonderful view of the street below and horizon view over the tops of neighboring buildings, with gorgeous color changes in the sky at sunset. The Mandarin Oriental sits in a prime location in the Back Bay area of Boston. This is a safe neighborhood within walking distance of dining, shopping, Copley Square, the river, and Northeastern University (which we were touring). Service in all areas was on point and very accommodating. For example, we had a very early flight on our last day, and although breakfast service normally began at 6:30, they agreed to provide in-room dining delivery at 6:00 for us. Amazing. I did not have a chance to visit the spa, and hope to return someday to do so. I'm sure it is splendid like everything else. I would book a stay at the Mandarin Oriental Boston again without hesitation. Highly recommended for a top-notch experience combining luxury, comfort and convenience.

Excellent location combined with the highest service level usually means the highest rating. So why did I rate my stay 4 out of 5? The price paid for a room was just excessive and the room itself had a few flaws (for example: shower handle was broken - see picture).

We recently had the pleasure of hosting an event for 200 women at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston, and the experience exceeded every expectation. From the earliest stages of planning through day-of execution, every detail was handled with professionalism, care, and precision. Communication was seamless, the coordination was thoughtful, and the level of service was truly exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success. Special recognition to Danielle Duane, as well as Banquet Managers Farid and Walter, whose attentiveness made all the difference. The bellmen, front desk team, and entire banquet staff were gracious, polished, and incredibly supportive throughout our stay and to all of our guests.

Another five-star stay at Mandarin Oriental, Boston, this time for business. From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless. Valet and check-in were efficient, intuitive and very kind. I was quickly escorted to my room with a view overlooking Boylston Street Breakfast delivery to my room the next morning was delicious and quick! I spent the day in meetings in their ballrooms, which are exceptional for corporate or celebratory gatherings. The space is generous and transforms effortlessly depending on the format. The conference team went above and beyond. Thoughtful, responsive, and polished throughout. Food and beverage service was equally impressive: well-paced, and consistently excellent. Bravo to both the front of house and back of house teams. Hotel Manager Jason and General Manager Markus are present and attentive hosts always available greeting guests. Thank you for another memorable stay!
