Engaged @ The Newbury Boston "EPIC"

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

What an experience. All phases of planning and details covered from beginning to end. Mille Grazie. Attention to detail for sure. Our Corner Park View Suite was awesome. The view was priceless. Look at the pictures. Steps across the street from the Public Garden, The Common and on Newbury Street. Our engagement, sleeping over in downtown Boston , dinner and breakfast at Contessa was out of this world. The entire Staff treated us like royalty. The view blew us away. Dinner and breakfast at Contessa was next level. Thank you for making our engagement day/weekend perfection.

Street Bar, The Newbury Hotel

The Street Bar at The Newbury Hotel is exactly what my husband, daughter and I were looking for!! It’s beautiful, quaint, cozy and historic. Our server, Conch made our experience top notch. She was attentive and very personable. She’s a 10 out of 10! Highly recommend!

Outstanding hotel in perfect location. Every detail was thought of from beautifully appointed bathroom, gorgeous spacious room and view. Favorite hotel in Boston. If you stayed here when it was the Taj, try again, the Newbury is so much better!

Exceptional Experience at The Newbury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

My wife and I couldn’t have been happier with our stay. We were celebrating our birthdays—just one day apart—and were surprised with a bottle of champagne and a cake waiting for us in our room! We hadn’t been able to get a reservation at Contessa, so we contacted The Newbury to see if they could help. Within an hour, we had a reservation at a beautiful table at exactly the time we requested. The service throughout the hotel was exceptional—every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful. A special shout-out to the young woman at the downstairs bar; she was fantastic, and the cocktails were perfect. We’ve decided to make this an annual tradition for our birthdays. Thank you for everything!

Not worth the money compared to other hotels round the world we have stayed at in this bracket.

Disappointing and not worth the money. Street bar was ok but hard to get a seat. Hotel was more focussed on weddings rather than other guests. Contessa restaurant was pretentious and staff did not care. More interested in their iPads and talking to other staff members than guests. Could not get breakfast. It was brunch even at 7 am. We had to go outside hotel to get a breakfast which was ridiculous. They said they could cook eggs but not an omelette! Personally I would go elsewhere if staying a weekend.
