A well-crafted life, a century in the making. Explore a beautifully restored and reimagined luxury hotel at the intersection of Newbury and Arlington Streets, where the bustle of the Back Bay is your playground and the idyllic Boston Public Garden your front yard. We’ve been a beloved landmark, a distinctive symbol of Boston’s rich history, a place of gathering, and now—a striking homage to the neighborhood we call home.

Great stay and special recognition to the Concierge and Reception staff who were always very helpful on a very busy graduation weekend!

From a hotel snob, this hotel was excellent! The location is great for walking around and visiting the parks. The doormen were very sweet and gave us umbrellas in the rain. The front desk was helpful each time we needed anything. Everyone we interacted with was very polite and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and clean, which is a huge plus. We'll for sure be back!

I’ve lived all over the world and stayed at great hotels but I gotta say that Jo, our bellman went out of his way everyday as pleasant as possible. You don’t find bellhops like him anymore, anywhere in the world

We chose The Newbury hotel in the Back Bay area as it was in an excellent location for the finish line of the Boston marathon (which my husband was running). The location is indeed brilliant, and whilst, like many large cities, it is difficult to define exactly where a centre of a city is, we did feel that the Back Bay/Boston Common area is the centre of Boston. The bedroom was excellent - comfortable, with good quality bedding (very important for sleep quality!) and lovely Bamford toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast in Contessa was excellent. We don't usually eat dinner in hotels as there are usually so many choices in a big city for good restaurants, however we did eat dinner in Contessa (Italian restaurant on the top floor of the hotel) on the night that we arrived as we were tired and jet lagged and just wanted a quick drink and something to eat without travelling too far. The food & service was OK but generally disappointing. We had some amazing dinners in Boston whilst we were there and unfortunately Contessa was not one of them. It reminded me of The Ivy chain of restaurants in the UK. In general the staff in the hotel were good, but the concierge and doormen were particularly excellent - I am just sorry that I can't remember their names - sorry! In summary, if you are looking for a good quality 5 star hotel in the centre of Boston (Back Bay is a great area for culture, restaurants & top end shopping) then I would certainly recommend The Newbury hotel for a bed & breakfast package.

The Newbury was top end of our budget, but was worth every cent. We had just two nights in Boston so we wanted a central location to help explore the city as much as possible in this short time. The Newbury was perfect, right next to the Public Garden - all the main spots in comfortable walking distance, and very central, whilst also feeling something of a calm oasis almost the bustle of a busy city. The room (King size, Park View) was great. Immaculately presented and very spacious. ALL the staff were exceptional.
