A well-crafted life, a century in the making. Explore a beautifully restored and reimagined luxury hotel at the intersection of Newbury and Arlington Streets, where the bustle of the Back Bay is your playground and the idyllic Boston Public Garden your front yard. We’ve been a beloved landmark, a distinctive symbol of Boston’s rich history, a place of gathering, and now—a striking homage to the neighborhood we call home.

A nice hotel in a good location to visit Boston. Our room had a beautiful view over the park but some services could be improved (like water, sugar, coffee daily refill in the room). I do not like that only one floor (the 10th) among 16 is pet free: It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find rooms that are suitable for guests with allergies, like us. I would have greatly appreciated the possibility of opening the windows for a few minutes each day to refresh the air: we stayed for a long period, 11 nights and occupied 2 rooms.

This was my favorite hotel I stayed at this year. Fantastic location on Newbury street, great room service options, Contessa was fantastic, The room was comfortable and turned down nightly. I'm a southerner and had no problems cranking the heat up on one of the coldest nights of the year to date. My only complaint is that it was absolutely PACKED that weekend, and the lobby was very crowded at check-in, check-out, and every time in beween. There is only space for two staffers at the desk, and the line was wrapping around the cute litlte gingerbread house, and well past it. I don't know how you solve that problem in such a limited space. I didn't go to the Street Bar because it was too crowded, but I saw them telling people at the door they could only get in if they were hotel guests.

The Newbury is a wonderfully positioned hotel opposite Boston Common. The staff, without exception, are warm, welcoming, friendly and professional. It is important to note that the hotel is ‘pet friendly’ to the extent that dogs are allowed throughout the hotel (up to 2 in a room), with the exception of just one floor (10th). This is not clearly communicated on the hotel website or third party booking platforms. We only became aware of the extent of ‘dog friendly’ when our son and his wife experienced a wet dog smell in their shower. Whilst they were able to move rooms we received no apology or concession just an explanation that the hotel welcomed dogs.

Highly recommend this hotel, we had a wonderful stay! The room was very calming, clean, with a neutral design but still warm and inviting. The gym was beautiful and very clean & new. The location is absolutely perfect. We will definitely stay here every time we visit Boston!
