Fantastic place for a Boston City Break

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

In our experience the Omni Parker House was a really great place for a Boston city break. The location is fabulous, in the heart of old Boston, 5 minutes walk in one direction to Boston Common and the Old Granary burial ground; 5 minutes in the other direction to key historical sites and Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market. It's right on the historic Freedom Trail through Boston and close to subway (eg for visiting Cambridge/Harvard) and trolley connections. The hotel is an absolute 19th and early 20th century classic, retaining many original features (the lobby is glorious) but with modern facilities. The staff were friendly and efficient; the Parker Restaurant for breakfast and the last Hurrah Bar for drinks were both great. The bedroom (one of the newly renovated larger Deluxe rooms) was really excellent with one complaint: the bathroom door is a problem. It's a sliding door rather than a conventional closing door, so doesn't give good privacy; and has large translucent glass panels letting light into the bedroom. But other than this, the room facilities were great, and the a/c / heating system was quiet and very effective. Overall, we'd totally recommend the Omni Parker House for a stay in Boston.

Two Restless Nights

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Had to sleep with a light shining on my face from the hallway all night. They moved us to another room, we unpacked, then realized the bed was a full size, not a queen. Two restless nights…

Very nice staff, terrible rooms and bathroom

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean and feels safe. The rooms on the other hand were absurd. We rented two identical "deluxe" rooms on the same reservation and one had a dresser, a luggage stand, a coffee maker, and a desk. The other was 50 sq feet smaller (according to the front desk after we called) and had no dresser - literally no place to put clothing - we had to put a suitcase on the floor and step IN it to navigate the room because it was so small you couldn't have an open suitcase on the floor and still navigate the room without stepping inside the suitcase, no desk (there was a shelf attached to the wall with a chair crammed under it where a suitcase stand could have gone but instead there was a useless shelf and chair taking up what little precious space there was), no coffee maker and was a third smaller. Same price, same reservation, two vastly different rooms. The bathrooms are so small that when you sit on the toilet you are wedged between the sink and the wall. I don't think a plus sized person would literally be able to use the toilet in these bathrooms. The toilets are very narrow to accommodate the tiny space between the sink and wall and when you are sitting on the toilet you are touching the wall on one side and the sink on the other. We called the desk to ask for a discount on the second room since it was clearly a much less desirable room and were told a manager would call us back. No one ever called back or addressed the situation. We were told by the front desk that they are the "same class" of room and yet one had several amenities the other did not and was much larger than the other. Can't recommend this place because who knows what room you will end up with even if you book a "deluxe"!

A Boston historic hotel with outstanding customer service.

A memorable stay due to the outstanding customer service provided by all staff. Noelle at the Registration Desk went out of her way to be helpful and the Parker Restaurant staff ensured we had a memorable Boston Cream Pie experience!
