Find a better Hotel

This Hotel needs help, Housekeeping barley showed up, left garbage in the room. The Parker Restaurant served me a steak that I could not cut through, The Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very nice. It did not make up for what was wrong. The TV was on the fritz most of the time, The cable connection did not hold for long. So generally I did not like this place

Great location for first visit to Boston

We were very happy with our room and the hotel's location. The front desk staff and bellmen were so helpful upon our arrival after our day of airline travel. We loved being able to walk to the waterfront for the parade of sails. Once you enter the hotel, the setting feels very peaceful, even though it's right on the busy street. I would skip the hotel restaurant; there are too many other excellent places to eat. We didn't use any of the other services of the hotel because we were out making the most of every day in Boston. We asked for an extra robe and hypoallergenic pillows, and housekeeping was quick and responsive.

"A Charming Historic Property with Great Potential, but Needs Functional Updates"

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I deeply appreciate historic hotels and understand the desire to preserve their unique heritage. However, there is a fine line between historic charm and outdated functionality, and the property currently leans toward the latter. The guest bathrooms are exceptionally cramped, feeling as though the fixtures were forced into an incredibly tight footprint. The sink is positioned at an awkward angle to fit the space, and the layout is so restrictive that I unfortunately bumped into fixtures and bruised myself multiple times just trying to maneuver. A strategic layout refresh could easily preserve the historic character while ensuring guest safety and basic physical comfort. The culinary experiences were a mixed bag. Brunch in the Parker House restaurant was absolutely delicious and highly enjoyable. Conversely, the experience at The Parker Bar was highly disappointing. The menu is quite limited. I ordered the clam chowder and Caesar salad, expecting them to arrive together. The chowder was lukewarm, lacked flavor, and was predominantly made up of potatoes rather than clams. After an excessively long wait for the salad, I ultimately had to cancel it with my server. On a positive note, the customer service at the front desk was excellent. The staff members were consistently prompt, accommodating, and attentive to every request. With some physical updates to the guest rooms and better culinary execution at the bar, this hotel could truly shine.

Great Location in downtown Boston

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Beautiful historic hotel and extremely walkable to several historical sites in Boston. The hotel has a great staff, amazing restaurant and a coffee shop that serves Starbucks. If you are flying into Logan, the blue line Government Center station is just a couple blocks from the hotel - made traveling easy.

Highly Recommend!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

My husband and I were very impressed with the hotel; it's one of the top 5 hotels we've stayed at. The history is fascinating, the ambiance is grand, the staff is welcoming and professional, the rooms are comfortable, the dining is superb, and the location is ideal - right on the Freedom Trail and close to popular tourist spots. It is the best place to stay in Boston.
