My stay at The Newbury Boston was exceptional in a way that feels increasingly rare: calm, intentional, and genuinely thoughtful. I booked through Chase Travel and was pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade to a corner room, which made a meaningful difference. The room was beautifully designed, filled with natural light, and felt both spacious and serene. After full days of walking, museums, and exploring the city, it was a joy to return to a space that felt restorative rather than overstimulating. The location is unbeatable—overlooking the Public Garden and steps from Newbury Street—yet the hotel itself never feels hectic. The lobby is elegant and understated, setting the tone for the entire experience. One of the highlights of the stay was lunch at Street Bar, located just off the lobby. It was the perfect arrival meal—classic, comforting, and executed extremely well in a warm, club-like setting. Having such a strong, approachable dining option on-site made the hotel feel complete and easy to settle into. Another detail that truly stood out was the evening service. Around 8 p.m., someone came by simply to check if I needed anything. I asked for water, which was promptly delivered. It was such a small but thoughtful gesture—and honestly, something I haven’t experienced at many hotels before. It made the stay feel personal rather than transactional. Breakfast at Contessa was another standout. The setting alone is stunning, but the service and food lived up to it. Having a daily breakfast credit made mornings feel relaxed and unrushed. What impressed me most was how cohesive the entire experience felt. Nothing was flashy for the sake of it. Everything—from the service to the dining to the room—felt intentional. The Newbury doesn’t try to impress loudly; it earns your appreciation quietly. I would absolutely return and highly recommend The Newbury Boston to anyone looking for a refined, comfortable stay that allows the city itself to shine.

At $600/night for a standard room, The Newbury was a letdown. The hotel was hosting two weddings the same day we stayed and the property was absolutely mobbed. Crowds everywhere, absurdly long elevator waits (10+ minutes regularly), and zero sense of the high-end experience you'd expect at this price point. It felt more like a convention center than a luxury hotel. The room had major issues. Most frustrating was the complete lack of temperature control—the room was a sweltering 72+ degrees with no way to adjust it. The A/C would occasionally kick on but never consistently enough to make a difference. We spent the entire night overheating and miserable. Add in completely soft and shapeless uncomfortable pillows, and it was a truly unpleasant stay. Yes, the room and bathroom were a decent size, but that doesn't compensate for failing at basic comfort. The only saving grace was the staff who were excellent and professional despite the chaos. Front desk, housekeeping, everyone—A+ service across the board. But exceptional service doesn't justify these prices when the property is overcrowded and the rooms lack basic comforts. The Newbury delivered neither. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Great old school vibe with attention to detail. Great location to shopping and has a world class restaurant on the roof overlooking the best city in the world.

Always love The Street Bar, a must do in the city but especially fun and festive during this season. Conch delivered a first class experience, she was so engaging and I hope she’s there each time we go back!

Truly could not have wished for a better time. What a kind and amazing woman. I would recommend people here as long as it was with her. Conch is the best you could wish for
