Gorgeous!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 hours ago

Touchstone is a beautiful resort with gorgeous views that make you stop and appreciate the beauty of Canada. My mom and I stayed here for 2 nights in a spacious two-bedroom, overlooking the water (a gorgeous spot to eat your breakfast while hearing the waves), and enjoyed so many different activities! We got to kayak from the beach, go to dinner at the grill, get facials/massages at the spa, lounge around on the swim dock, and enjoy the infinity pool! A highlight of my stay was definitely sitting out on the swim dock. You get a beautiful view of the lake and they provide loungers and umbrellas so you can choose to get a little sun or just relax in the shade. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Touchstone and would recommend the stay to everyone!

Muskoka Magic

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at Touchstone. We enjoyed a two bedroom unit with full kitchen which was well-supplied and the view of Lake Muskoka was gorgeous. We hit the beach for some kayaking, the swimming dock to jump in the lake and enjoy the tranquility, the pool for lunch and cocktails and the spa for facials and massage. We had a fabulous dinner at Taste, on the patio with live entertainment. The oysters were a standout! The whole meal was wonderful, ending with a shared carrot cake cheesecake to die for! It was a perfect 3 day break and they even provided a beautiful sunset each evening! ;) Thanks Touchstone!

Not Returning!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We stayed over two weeks at Touchstone and were very disappointed. The resort is dated, poorly maintained, and not stocked for long stays—we had to constantly ask for basics like soap, toilet paper, and garbage bags. Several things didn’t work (TV, landline, BBQ starter, and a noisy A/C), and we were even charged in full upon arrival. For the price, it’s far from luxury and we won’t be returning.

buyer beware, adjust your expectations

My wife and I spent 2 nights at Touchstone Resort earlier this month. The region, right on Lake Muskoka, is beautiful. This hotel property (calling it a resort is a stretch) is just outside Bracebridge. Our arrival was uneventful, the front desk staff should be more welcoming and engaging. We booked a one bedroom suite, their website says they are 550-650 sq ft, the picture on the web is clearly the largest, ours was maybe 550, but so be it. Bedsheets had rips in them, hand soaps were small motel style with no soap dishes (leaving a messy counter), and the bare minimum of bath towels were provided. The prior guest left a sock near the foot of the bed. They do have 2 pools, 2 very small pools and by our check in there was no space so we headed to the beach. Nice sand, not much shade, however shallow refreshing water. Note, the beach towels they provide are very small, we wish we packed our own. We headed to their restaurant, (they only have one) for a nice dinner, not spectacular, but the staff there were a refreshing change from our first point of contact, all pleasant and personable. You cannot charge the restaurant to your room, odd but whatever. That evening we were back in our room and checking their instagram posts. They had a lovely picture of the beach with several red beach umbrellas. We were there earlier, no umbrellas, so I commented on their post to that effect. My post was immediately removed! Later in our stay they posted a beautiful image of a sunset on their beach, their beach does not get sunsets, or sunrises. Again I posted on their account asking about it and….immediately removed! Their social media, maybe entire marketing, has no integrity! Bottom line, do not believe what they say or show. This is Muskoka so not inexpensive and there is a demand for time and space. I do not recommend you waste your time for space that is priced as premium for relatively modest accommodations and marketed for clearly what it is not.

Spectacular stay! 12/10!!

This was a return visit for us and it was spectacular! This is a beautiful laidback resort in Muskoka - right on the water. We arrived and received a royal welcome back from Barry at the front desk and loved our two bedroom suite at the Beach. The view was spectacular and very close to the water. Sadly the beach pool was closed for some reason but the other infinite pool was wonderful as was the hot tub. We enjoyed the live music at the restaurant and the meal was delicious. The family really enjoyed hanging out on the dock close to Bobs Bar!! The room was fully equipped and very clean. We have stayed here before and it seems just to get better every time we visit! Highly recommend Touchstone
