Paradise on Lake Muskoka

We have been coming to touchstone for almost 10 years now. Being two teachers, my husband and I have the benefit of trying out different resorts in this area during summer months. Touchstone is the one we keep coming back to. We absolutely love it. The stunning views, the facilities, the location on the water, the beach, the large dock, the pickle ball courts, the patio restaurant, etc etc!!! The staff are incredibly friendly and we want to give a special mention to Barry - the manager who has gone above and beyond to accommodate us in many ways during our stays here. Sitting around one of the two fire pits at nights, we have met so many people - many who are owners here and many who have come from far away to experience Muskoka and this resort. Everyone is impressed and loves/has loved staying here. We hope one day to be one of the owners!! 😊 Brian & Donna Walker

Overall good because we were visiting family.

You cannot beat the location or how pretty this area is. That's the first thing I want to say positively. But do not come here thinking that you're going to have a resort experience. There is no customer service. We had to go to the front desk to get extra toilet paper. We had to check out towels. We couldn't get any bottled water, and if we did, we weren't allowed to charge it to the room, we had to actually pay for it in cash. The restaurant is really great and the service staff in there is amazing but don't expect to charge your services from the restaurant to your room. You either have to have cash or credit card which is not fun when you're coming to a resort because you don't want to have to even think about bringing your wallet out of your room. They do not have daily cleaning services and again if you want extra towels you have to beg and borrow in order to be able to get them. The front desk staff was completely surly. I really actually never met a staff coming into Resort that was less friendly than this staff. The next issue was the spa. Such a great opportunity for this resort to do something special there and they had the most lazy person I've ever encountered in my life representing the front desk. No information. No concern. No attempt to try to figure out a way to get Services taken care of. It was a complete waste of space and I literally left there thinking I had interrupted his day. The pool has a bathroom area that is so dangerous because people come in there obviously dripping in water from the pool and then the tile that they have is so slippery that you literally could almost kill yourself trying to use the pool restroom. Really bad design and very seriously dangerous. What this Resort does have is an amazing location, the rest of the people around here are beautifully fun and very down-home sweet. The views are gorgeous, parking is easy, and overall was still fun despite all the non-resort annoyances. Doesn't deserve "resort" in their title.or description. Think of it like a nice location motel.

Always a great stay!

This was our 4th visit to Touchstone Resort and we absolutely love it here! Beautiful location right on Lake Muskoka, cozy rooms with amazing views, and tons of amenities including pools, saunas, paddleboards and pickleball. The property is well maintained, staff are fantastic, and the restaurant never disappoints. A perfect spot for a relaxing getaway - we’ll definitely be back!

Cozy winter getaway with hottub!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

We loved the outdoor hot tub! It overlooks the lake. There's also a steam room and sauna indoors that are lovely. It was like a little spa getaway included with our stay. The room was pretty and cozy, it had a fireplace, a nice big bed, and heated floors in the bathroom. We were in the main lodge on the 2nd floor which was nice because we could easily walk down to the main lobby / restaurant area. They also had a nice wood fire going outside all day long. The *only* thing I'd caution if you're going in the winter is that you'll have to have breakfast in either Port Carling or Bracebridge! There's no breakfast at the resort in the winter. We ate at the Sherwood Inn in Port Carling which was ~ 15 min drive away.

Comfortable, well equipped 3 bedroom house/apartment. Great views over the lake, with jetties below. Highly recommended.

Stayed two nights as the nearest accommodation for a family wedding nearby. Comfortable rooms with well equipped kitchen area. Great view over the water with jetties for boats and float planes. Unable to comment on the resort's overall facilities as we were involved with our family wedding. Highly recommended though.
